  • Great condo...private but close to wonderful beaches and good locations for day excursions

"My husband, 10-year-old son and I stayed here for eight nights early April. It was our first visit to Hawaii and I would recommend to anyone staying in Hawaii for more than three nights (don't know who would bother flying all that way for fewer) to NOT stay in a hotel. It is possible to do Hawaii on somewhat of a budget...but staying in a condo/villa where you can prepare meals is crucial...eating out is EXPENSIVE! This condo is lovely and HUGE! Much more than enough room for the three of us. The kitchen was well-equipped with appliances, dishes, utensils, some staples...sugar, spices, etc. Appliances are high-end, place is clean and nicely decorated. We felt very much at home and relaxed and looked forward to our evenings in the condo. Plenty of beach/pool towels in the unit and the washer and dryer were great to have...we were able to pack very light. I've seen apartments that could fit in the master bath! The location is awesome. Beaches are a very short drive away...could even take a longer stroll to the beach if you wanted. You are VERY close in this complex (The Fairways) to Mauna Kea...which has the BEST beach and no crowds. It's a 5-star hotel beach and they only give out 40 public parking passes a day...we always got there before 8:30 am and always got in...that's about as late as I'd go...even earlier on the weekends. Good snorkeling...we brought our own masks and snorkels but there were some at the condo...and fins, which was nice. There was a boogie board to use as well...my son used it the whole time. Just about every day we'd eat breakfast, go to Mauna Kea, come back to the condo for lunch, then head out exploring other beaches/points of interest. So nice to come back to the condo in the evening and have a swim in the lovely and never-crowded pool. The pool, grounds, and units themselves are all well-maintained and very quiet. You're a quick drive to the shops at Waikoloa and Kona is an easy drive. Shawn was great to deal with...always responded to my emails/texts quickly with questions about the unit/area. We will definitely visit the Big Island again...ideally would get this unit, or at least another in The Fairways...and definitely get something through Shawn. Thanks so much!"

  • This unit really does have it all!!!

"My husband and I spent 6 wonderful weeks in Linda's lovely condo. The accommodations were so much more than we had anticipated. Aside from the condo being immaculate all the finishes were high end and the unit was tastefully decorated. Everything you could possibly need was supplied and very much appreciated.Location was great, close to several beaches, shopping, and night time entertainment. Thank-you Linda for allowing us to stay in your gorgeous home,we hated to leave."

  • Great stay

"We have recently had the privilege of staying here in Fairway Villas for 12 nights. Great location with excellent features, the snorkelling nearby (walk about 400yds pass the Fairmont hotel on the coast toward Pauko) was amazing and the use of the private beach was a real bonus. We were able to enjoy multiple evenings of fun by the BBQ and being close to the pool and GYM was a plus. We made of the discounts available at the local grocery store which made our stay really economical and it was only a short walk. (Tommy Bahamas Restaurant upstairs in the Mauna Lani Shopping centre has a great happy hour and friendly staff, also make the most of their shows every week) It seems this part of the Big Island enjoys the best weather, we had a great time overall and would recommend staying here. A car is a must to make the most of your time here including visiting the nearby resorts.(Check the undisclosed insurance rates with your vehicle rental company before arrival...) Get to the Mauan Kea resort early and they have 40 free beach passes to the most amazing swimming beach."

  • Truely a home away from home

"Excellent location in a lovely gated community with access to beautiful beaches and amenities. It has been our home away from home during our brief but unforgettable visit of TBI. Well kept home with tasteful furnishing and thoughtful owner. We arrived right on the heel of Hurricane Iselle, the owner was so considerate that she went out and bought some supplies for us prior to our arrival so we would be able to use in case the store shelves were empty after the Hurricane. If you plan to visit TBI and set your base in North Kohala coast, put this rental on your short list. You won't regret it."

Fairways Travel Tips

Finding the Right Place to Stay; Fairways Condos

When seeking out the best deals on lodgings on the Kohala Coast, do not ignore Fairways condos. Fairways condos offer access to all of the major attractions on the Kohala Coast. See what Kohala Coast vacation rentals can offer; you won't believe the luxury and affordability. When deciding on a place to stay, travelers must decide on what is important. The safety and privacy of a vacation rental by owner provides the piece of mind that vacationers will be able to relax in something more upscale than a hotel room.

Indulge on the Kohala Coast

Hawaii's "gold coast" is known as a place to indulge in the finer things in life. While the natural beauty of the island provides enough reason to a plan a visit, local offerings are also alluring. They include world class dining and other pleasures. The Fairmont Orchard holds a luau style dinner party and show twice a week. The show offers guests a glimpse of Polynesian history and culture. As the show runs, guests enjoy a feast of local foods. One traditional Hawaiian delicacy to look for is a pig roast. A Hawaiian style pig roast occurs after a whole pig is cooked in an underground oven called an imu.

Beaches, Sun or other Adventure

The Hawaii or "Big Island" might be overlooked by some travelers. Even though not as prominently featured as Oahu, the "Big Island" offers world class sun, surfing, and hiking. Fairways house rentals put vacationers in the middle of the action or the recreation. Whether seeking a beach to relax on or a wave to catch, Fairways house rentals are never far from the ocean. A trip to Hawaii provides travelers with a glimpse of pure paradise. The Kohala Coast provides the chance to enjoy the pleasures of island living.
