  • A perfect home away from home for a big family vacation

"We stayed at this home for 8 days with eight adults and had a great, effortless time. The location is ideal, about 20 miles north of Kona, but just a half mile from a pleasant grocery store. The local amenities, pool, athletic club, beach club, golf are ideal. And much of the Big Island is easily accessible from Mauna Lani. The house is very well stocked with kitchen tools, has an excellent gas grill outside and a garage stuffed with child and adult beach, bike and golf equipment. We have stayed at several locations on the Big Island, and have found Mauna Lani to be an ideal spot for doing nothing or exploring the Island, which ever suits your mood on any given day. The owners were very easy to work with and very prompt in responding. We very highly recommend this home for large family groups."

  • Spring Break

"We had another great time in Kona. This was our first stay in Mauna Lani. The home is quite spacious and comfortable. This place had lots of extras like a golf cart, snorkle gear and even bikes. The biggest bonus was use of a Highlander SUV👍. I was really concerned about the A/C because I like it cooler when I sleep. Well you can leave the A/C off all day, turn it on before bed and the whole place cools down within 15 minutes. I was very impressed. The Fairmont Orchid is a 5 minute walk away and is a must see. Kai was very helpful whenever we had questions or concerns. The Mauna Lani shops are about 10-15 minute walk away which was a bit far for our liking but always nice to get out for a walk. So to be fair I have just a couple of negatives to mention. I know beds are a personal preference, but we found the beds here too soft for our liking and the pillows are quite flat and dated. We also found that the kitchen cookware was quite worn out and the dishwasher really has issues cleaning dishes so we did a lot of hand washing. The outdoor BBQ works great provided you have a long stick lighter to ignite it. The positives definitely outweigh the negatives. It's quite a peaceful spot and all the new construction happening on site is a non factor because it's at the other end of the resort. Thanks Kai!"

  • Beautiful Home and Great Location

"We just returned from 10 fantastic days at KaMilo on the Big Island. The layout is ideal for two families - lots of space and it easily accommodates both adults and children to have places to go. Loved the open air concept and having the doors wide open to flow between the in and outdoors. We took advantage of the BBQ and the gorgeous kitchen - loved cooking in it! The facilities have a great work out area as well as two pools which we used daily. The home is so well equipped with everything from beach chairs, toys, boogie boards, umbrella, beach bags, to flat screen TV's in literally every room. Its definitely a good idea to rent a car so you can explore the many beaches near by and take advantage of sightseeing! We loved the Beach Club which is short drive away as well as Hapuna Beach for body surfing. The shops at Mauna Lani are a short walk away and have some great restaurants, market for last minute food items, fantastic smoothie and vegan options as well! We couldn't say enough about how much we enjoyed our time!"

  • Great vacation home

"Our entire family, including our 14 month old granddaughter, had a wonderful time here. The house was set up for a family on vacation -- the upstairs lanai with a view of Mauna Kea, a well-appointed kitchen with everything needed for cooking, bikes and boards in the garage, and comfortable spaces. It felt as if the owners were sharing their house, and not just furnishing a rental. Although not on the beach, it was close enough to walk. The work out area and pools are very convenient. Very well managed."
