"We loved our stay in this home. We spent just over a week here with our two children, 11 and 14, and really couldn't have asked for a better place to stay on the Big Island. The townhome itself is spacious, with three separate suite-like bedrooms and attached full baths (which allows for privacy), plus a very nice, private backyard with an outdoor kitchen, seating area and grassy yard. It's very quiet and comfortable, plus extremely well appointed - you'll find everything from a coffee grinder to avocado oil in the kitchen. There are also boogie boards, beach chairs and beach toys available for guests - it was very nice to not have to rent boogie boards! The Mauna Lani resort is a very special place - we enjoyed walking to the shopping area for groceries, meals, and a weekly hula/drum performance - plus there's a gorgeous private beach where you can snorkel, paddle board and kayak from shore (rental equipment is available at the beach). The shore extends well past the beach and is a beautiful walk - particularly at sunset. We saw several sea turtles resting at dusk. The owners John & Elaine were extremely responsive and helpful. We hope to stay here again!"

"This condo has everything you might need, from spices to boogie boards. Plus, the owners provide a list of excellent suggestions so you can enjoy the best beaches, fine restaurants, shopping (groceries, galleries, garments, gifts), and many sights all over the island. We followed their advice and had a wonderful time. Telescopes at 14,000 feet, a 400 foot waterfall, local eats in Hilo, a botanical garden with plants from mars (almost), a glowing volcano, a haunting hike across a crater, lava tunnels, black sand with sea turtles, farmer's markets (2), and near the condo a different beach every day. The place includes access to the beach club (a short walk through a lava park) for the best snorkeling we found. And if you just want to relax, the pool and hot tub are just out the back door; so is a gym and BBQ. A golf course surrounds the complex and many others are nearby.
We spent two weeks there and really didn't want to leave. We'll be back asap."

"Deb's place is just like stepping into a home away from home. The condo is decorated very tastefully. No detail is missed. We recently just returned from a 2 week very relaxing stay. We took advantage of the very well equipped kitchen and outdoor grill . The beach club is fabulous. We actually didn't even leave the resort this time, except to shop. Exercise classes at the Mauna Lani tennis club were great. We cycled daily with the great bikes at the condo. We explored new areas we otherwise might have missed. This is our second time and we are already getting ready to book for next year. I forgot to mention how immaculate the unit is. The property manager Dani was great and very responsive with any questions we had."

"I believe we have stayed here 4 times over the past 12 years or so. It has a fantastic view and setting. I would give our first couple of stays an A+ rating, however deferred maintenance has reduced it to the 3-4 range. The bathrooms need remodeling. You can't shut the shower door and screw holes are all that remain of two fixtures. I don't know if its the law or not, but they should install grab bars in the shower for safety concerns..
I'm not a TV addict, but I wanted to see some of the baseball playoffs. The TV sets are very old. There are no instructions on operating the living room set (2 controls). The gentleman they sent to help was surprised there were neither instructions nor listings.
Carpeting needs cleaning or replacement Window shades that were replaced a few years ago should have been custom as the standard shades don't fit.
In other words, It was a first class property that isn't maintained as a first class property, but that could be easily be brought back to a first class property.
The owners have always been very pleasant over the phone and in emails. I hope the look at this as constructive criticism."
