  • Great Resort, Great Condo, Great Manager

"My sister, husband and I stayed in this condo for 12 nights in November 2014. We last visited the Big Island 28 years ago for a few days and we were not familiar with the Kohala coast area. Based on recommendations from tripadvisor we decided to stay in the Mauna Lani resort because it is located near beautiful beaches and important cultural sites. We decided on the Fairways from other comparably priced condos at Mauna Lani because of the townhouse floor plan (no rental unit above). What a great decision we made! The resort is gorgeous, the Fairways is a very upscale development- beautifully landscaped and maintained, stucco and tiled roofed condos with a beautiful pool and hot tub in the center of the development. There are so many things we loved about this condo. First, it seemed more spacious than I expected so there is plenty of room for four people to feel comfortable. The two bedrooms on the 2nd floor are at opposite ends of the unit each with full baths with enough separation that you have some privacy. We also loved the location of this unit within the Fairways. It is on the west side (bldg 21) of the development (not near the road) one bldg. down from the pool. We loved being near but not in front of the pool. When we had enough of the beach we went back to the condo, got something to eat and took it to the pool. We could also do laundry, have something in the oven and then hang out by the pool which had wifi. The pool is not heated which may only be an issue in the late fall thru spring but the hot tub was great. We used the pool area more than expected because it was so close and not crowded. For us the location of the Fairways was ideal. Although it is the furthest unit from the beach club, it is walking distance to the beach area at the Fairmont Orchid hotel (there is public beach access walkway) and I preferred this less crowded beach. I also liked being within walking distance of the shops. The unit is very nicely furnished with tropical decor. The kitchen had all the supplies we needed for cooking. There was also some beach supplies we used - towels, umbrella, chairs, coolers, boogie boards. It really came to feel like our Hawaiian home. One of the things that I most appreciated though was the attentiveness of the manager. Dennis always responded by email or phone call very quickly. He was very professional. The whole experience exceeded our expectations. Our thanks for making this a wonderful vacation."

  • Big Fun on the Big Island

"We had a wonderful time during our Hawaiian getaway and this condo was just right for us! I attended a conference at the Mauna Lani Hotel, just a short 10 min walk from Palm Villas. My family enjoyed using the waterfall pool while I was "working" then we would enjoy the island in the afternoons. The garage was stocked with everything you'll need for snorkeling, boogie boarding, or just relaxing on the beach. The Beach Club was nice for relaxing in calmer waters, then we headed out to Hapuna for some bigger waves for the boogie boarding. The condo is stocked with everything you'll need for cooking at home. Grill was great and a meal on the lanai is so tranquil. It is also beautifully furnished very clean and the beds are very comfortable too. Great location within the complex - very quiet in the evenings. Great communication with the owners and the property manager. Reservations were quick and easy and so was any correspondence if needed. Luxury condo is no understatement. Would highly recommend and stay again!"

  • Fairways Condo

"Incredible condo complete with Comfortable BEDS and a complete kitchen. WE've been going to Hawaii for many years and stay for a few weeks. This is the best condo we've stayed in and plan to return in the spring. We enjoyed Lava Lava restaurant which had a variety of food and is on the beach and Sansai restaurant for Japanese food. Mostly, we enjoyed eating our breakfast and lunches at the patio of our condo viewing the beautiful tropical plants."

  • Paradise

"This property met and exceeded all my expectations. It was located off the 9th hole of the Mauna Lani south course and the contrast of the dark brown lava and the green grass was amazing. The townhouse was beautifully furnished and immaculate. It was a short ride or a very long walk to the beach club and a wonderful sand and snorkeling beach. The pool was very close and relaxing after a long day on the links. We didn't use the patio grill but enjoyed our breakfasts on the lanai. Bruce got us tickets to see a taping of Wheel of Fortune which was very unexpected. Bennett was quick to respond to any request and suggested a taxi driver to pick us up at the airport who transported our luggage as it was difficult to fit 4 suitcases and golf bags in our rental car. We took a tour of the island which gave us an overview of what was there. I recommend a tour to the summit of Mauna Kea to see the stars and experience the difference in climate on the island. If you have a rental car, drive to the Volcano National Park. Do this in the afternoon and stay after sunset to see the glow from the volcano. We played Mauna Lani south course, Wailoloa beach course, and Mauna Kea. Mauna Kea's 3rd hole is one of the most photographed in golf, but be warned, the course is very challenging. Some of the restaurants we enjoyed were Tommy Bahama's, Ruth's Chris Steak House, and Roy's. Lunch at the Waikoloa Golf Course was good too. You can stock up on food, snacks, and drinks at the Foodland in the Shoppes of Mauna Lani. All in all it was a wonderful two weeks. I wouldn't hesitate to go back or recommend it to friends and family."
