  • Wow. What a great experience.

"My family of fives (kids of 14, 13, 9) visited Hale Puako at the end of July. We had an excellent experience. The access to the different beaches--by foot and by car--was fantastic. The house was exactly as pictured, well maybe better. It doesn't get five starts because it is a "5 Star Resort" it gets five stars because of the excellent "as advertised" experience and the great service of the Two Papayas management. When we come back to the Big Island, we will certainly use Two Papayas again."

  • Best of the Best

"Beautiful home and a stellar location in Puako. We looked on-line at other houses in this area, but we felt very fortunate to have rented this one. This was the best of the best. Very satisfied. We're coming back."

  • Pefrect location, awesome folks, incrdible relaxing vacation

"We booked this on a recommendation and it was perfect. The living space of the house is spacious and comfortable. Lots of light and windows and easy access to outside. Outside there are 2 hammocks, lounge chairs, regular chairs, a table. There is a nice lawn area that attracts a ton of birds and then the beach. It is nicer than the pics show. At high tide the snorkeling is incredible and at low tide the tide pools are great. Close to beach 69. Charcoal BBQ, and coin laundry for convenience. Mary was great at taking our calls when we had questions and resolving issues. The office is right down the street next to the general store. Easy access to many of the resorts as well as short drive to Hawi and Wiamea as well as Kona. Perfect location. But best of all, the sea turtles. We had them visit everyday. So if you want to relax, enjoy the surf, see turtles, fish and lots of birds, this is the spot for you."

  • Amazing Location/People and Best Coral Reef!

"I stayed here with a friend for almost a week, and at first was not sure where it was that we were driving to in the dark. When we arrived, the air was rich with the scent of flowers, and we opened the door to a week of bliss. Be warned - this is not in the middle of tourist central, and there are no major grocery stores nearby. Instead, there is a small general store that pipes in the hydrophoned calls of whales from the offshore harbour. There is the shallow reef, home to the resident turtles just across the street. And Bud - the penultimate host, and his pooch Sancho. We were sorry to have missed Peg, but I am sure we will go back to stay with them again. The suite is small, but good. There is an outdoor shower that really makes the night time snorkelling amazing :) All in all this place is one that I will remember for a long time to come!"
