Perfect Hawaii Vacation
"I've stayed at most of the luxury hotels on the Kohala coast (Mauna Kea, Hapuna Prince, Fairmont Orchid, Four Seasons Hualalai, Kona Village Resort back in the day) but my favorite vacation is renting a house in Puako. This four-bedroom home was not super luxurious, but was nearly perfect in every way for my group of four adults - It feels secluded. You have your own private beach. There are whales and snorkeling and birding right out the door. It's easy to take a great bike ride or run or walk or hike right from the house. The kitchen is very well equipped and there are staples in the cupboards and refrigerator. A new outdoor grill was perfect for cooking the freshest fish from the nearby Fish House in Kawaihae. The furniture for sitting in the living room or on the porch is beyond comfortable. The manager, Kalia, is very accommodating; she's there when you need her and stays out of your way when you don't. I really cannot say enough good about this house. I'd rent it again in an instant."

"We spent two glorious weeks in this Puako condo. Very roomy, everything you could possibly need for a short or long stay, comfy beds, nice lanai with a beautiful view of ocean out front and the mountain behind, two pools a regular and wading pool. We even saw 5 wild turkeys out the back door. While the beach out front is not the best for swimming, good for kids though, it was great for seeing the turtles, looking in the tide pools and watching the sunsets. Beach 69, Hapuna and Mauna Kea just a short car trip up the road. We would have liked to snorkel the Puako reef but surf conditions were too rough and Beach 69 was only good on one of our days. Hapuna is a huge beach with good snorkelling on the north end and good boogie boarding but Mauna Kea was our favourite but you have to go early to get a parking spot from the hotel. The condo location was perfect for exploring the north end of the island and down to the many beaches south to the airport and the resort areas of Fairmont Orchid, Mauna Lani and Waikoloa. Loved it all."

"Since we love the area in general we sought accommodation in Puako and found thus This This is a lovely ohana. Beautifully done and maintained. We quickly made our acquaintance with the lovely couple staying in the main house so we never felt intrusive going to the shore line in front. I found the kitchen lacked a few items that would have been useful like a dish suitable for microwave cooking. Whenever we needed anything Peter was responsive in a timely manner. We loved it and wouldn't hesitate to return!"

Wonderful house in the most private and quiet area
"Nothing to add to the other wonderful reviews, except that Scott accommodated our every need and wish, including a high chair, and a ping pong table! Such a relaxing place to be, with no bustle of tourism."
