"I just completed a 6 week stay at the Waikoloa Colony Villa #1606. The owner Brenda, was a pleasure to work with - prior to and during my entire stay. She was extremely attentive and responsive to any / all questions and requests that I had regarding the unit.
WCV#1606 is a very clean, well equipped 2BR / 2BA unit in the complex. The kitchen has everything you might need. Brenda also provided beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, snorkel equipment, beach towels, etc. She even provides greens fees discounts for golfing at the two Waikoloa Beach Resort courses. As a bonus, she has a 1 car garage which she allows you house during your stay (not necessarily the same case at many of the WCV units). My 6 week stay was extremely comfortable and I certainly felt at home in the spacious unit, during my visit. The trade winds blew so regularly through the unit that I didn't ever need to utilize the A/C - another bonus from my perspective.Mahalo Brenda for sharing your ohana with me!"

"We just returned from a 16 year hiatus to the Big Island after staying at this condo for 8 days and it could not have been better! The location of the complex is perfect next to the ocean to watch the great sunsets from the private pool and bar/restaurant located in it. We spent many afternoons by the pool being lazy which is what vacations are all about! The complex is located next to the Kings and Queens market areas which has everything you need and is about a 15 minute +/- walk away.
If you are reading this review and the unit for 3A is available for your dates book it and you will not be sorry. It is completely remodeled unit on the top floor overlooking the golf course with a view of the water. Everything you can possibly need is in the unit and it feels like home. We played the game of "Hey, wonder if they have this spice!" or "Hey, I got Mai Tai stain on my t-shirt, do they have spot-remover!" and they always did! Each morning we would walk over to the Hilton along the beaches to watch the world wake up and then to the Queen's market to get fresh donut. Life doesn't get any better than this!!
The complex is about 24 houses with multiple units in each one. It was very quiet and everyone was very friendly including at the pool where they bent over backwards to make sure you were having a good time. We commented that in our 10 trips to Hawaii we finally found the perfect complex to return to multiple times for future visits. There was minimal amount of human noise which allowed you to enjoy the Hawaii birds that were singing all the time.
Our favorite beach to visit was Hapuna Beach which is located just up the road about 10 minutes. This is perfect for old and young alike with a life guard on duty.
We drove to the volcano one day via Waimea and stayed overnight next to it which was perfect, checking out the views along the way"

"We have been renting vacation homes from owners for over 10 years, sorting through many listings looking for that perfect rental. In March 2015, we chose a real winner. The Lepley’s were great to work with and villa and the Colony Villa property were a delight and exceeded our expectations. From the first day we arrived it felt like “home”. It’s spacious and although there was only two of us there is definitely lots of room for 6 adults. It’s nicely decorated and the furniture and beds are very comfortable. The unit was very clean, in good repair and all the appliances were in good working condition. They provided everything we needed for visits to the beach. The lanai faces east, a great spot for our early morning coffee. By mid-afternoon it is in cool shade. Perfect for afternoon drinks and supper. When we were looking for late afternoon sun- we simply moved our chairs out onto the lawn. The commercial grade gas BBQs located at the end of the driveway made cooking supper quick and easy and the BBQs were cleaned regularly by the maintenance staff. It’s the social gathering place in the early evening! The Colony Villa property is nicely landscaped and well maintained. We enjoyed lazy days around the pool. The water was warm and deck areas were clean and had several lounge chairs and tables. We took advantage of the golf discount package offered by the Lepley’s. We played both courses and found them to be in good shape. The friendly staff at the golf course always managed to find a tee time that worked for us.
The Waikoloa Beach resort area has a variety of restaurants, shops and a small supermarket and of course the best beach at “A” Bay. But, be sure to rent a car, pack your Big Island guide and GPS. With its quick access to major highways, the location of the Colony Villas is perfect for exploring this remarkable island. The upgrades and improvements to the Saddle Road allowed us to safely cross to Hilo in just over an hour, and reach the volcanoes in under two hours. Our day trip adventures included: secluded beaches; lush rainforests; quaint and charming old Hawaiian towns; finding local eateries and coffee shops; hikes over the lava to historic sites and national parks; fascinating volcanoes; and interesting botanical gardens. One of the highlights of our trip was a tour to Mauna Kea summit for sunset and star gazing with Adventure Tours. Not to be missed! It was a memorable way to end our GREAT vacation."
