  • Great Place to Stay! Quiet - Clean - Relaxing

"This place is great! It's a comfortable home away from home. We had a group of 4 adults and 2 young children and it worked perfectly for us. The unit has 3 full bathrooms. Each of the upstairs rooms has it's own private full bath. The kitchen was well appointed with the basics one would need to cook meals. There is a large assortment of beach items (boards, towels, sand castle making toys). There are even small coolers in the kitchen you can use to take food to the beach. There are a lot of rules for the HOA, but I saw that kind of as a positive. Especially for a group of people with young kids (3yr and 7 mo). The last thing you want when you come to Hawaii to relax is the guys next to you partying out the night. The condo was very quiet - we never heard the next door unit. There are rules for smoking, but I don't smoke and don't want to smell it, so I loved the smoking ban on the premises. And the BBQ's are all in a community BBQ area near the pool (so the smoke doesn't fill the units above / fire hazard). As a prior review states, they are not the best functioning. But there are a few that worked okay and you make friends with the people waiting to cook. The Fairway Villas are very close to a couple shopping areas. You can walk over and get a meal, groceries, or even a Starbucks coffee if you so desire. If you want, you can even walk to the Marriott for their Sunset Luau, take full advantage of the open bar, then walk (or stagger) home. [this is not a review of the luau - we didn't go because it rained the day we had it scheduled, but we fully planned on walking because it was so close]. And lastly, your contact for this unit, Carole, was very professional and helpful in scheduling and setup, answering all our questions and getting us some baby items. When we arrived the highchair and pack-and-play were already setup, a box of choc covered macadamia nuts, salted mac nuts, and a bag of kona coffee on the counter, along with a welcome note. We never had to contact her during our stay as we had no problems with the unit, but I'm sure she would have been just as helpful during our stay as she was before. Overall we were very happy with our stay and will keep this place in mind for future visits to Hawaii."

  • Just Perfect

"This is a beautiful condo that provides everything you need. We were surprised and delighted to find the small things like snorkelling gear and beach towels were all provided. The owners were great to deal with and replied quickly to an email enquiries. We travelled over from Australia and can't wait to come back."

  • Great condo / but property management could have been better

"Owner was great to work with. Condo clean and well appointed including some beach necessary items. Management company was difficult to contact and was slow to answer questions or follow up on promised discounts. Parking instructions were not accurate and led to a dispute with another condo resident. When the management company failed to return my calls , I went to the site manager and found out I was given wrong information. I apologized to the other people and gave them a bottle of wine to calm the nerves. Pictures well represented the property. We try to search out local restaurants but do visit the King & Queen shopping areas. Newest property on the "A" Beach is Lava Lava. Great ribs at reasonable price!!! In Kona, Splashers is an old 2nd restaurant that is newly run in the past year. Great food, good prices. The lobster omelet uses real lobster chunks. It's one of two restaurants across from King K Hotel. Great whale watching from most state parks on western coast from Dec thru Feb. Central location gives ready BUT relaxed access to the entire island. Don't over plan the main roads are good but max speed limit 55 and on one part of the ocean road south of Kona is 15 to 25 in some stretches."

  • Great Unit!

"We booked a week at Fairway Villas #400014 as we were attending a wedding. We had six people staying in the unit and it was very comfortable. Since many of my family were also staying in the complex it was a great spot so we could all visit with each other. After seeing the other units, which were quite nice, I have to say that our unit was one of the best ones. We had a wonderful view of the 1st tee of the golf course and of the mountains. The owners have a very well kept and beautiful unit with everything you need for your stay as well as a great location close to shops and groceries. The owners are very easy to deal with and accommodating, since we had a late flight out we were able to have a late check out and not worry or rush to leave the condo. I would definitely recommend unit #400014 and would not hesitate to book this condo for my next trip to the Big island."
