  • Great stay, wonderful unit

"This is our second stay at Hali'i Kai but our first in this unit. The property is truly fantastic. Every afternoon at the pool area you are treated to a whale show. The private members restaurant and bar at the pool is very handy and very popular at happy hour. The unit is very well equipped, well furnished and was spotless when we arrived. A surprisingly comfortable bed in the master. The units with the golf course views or ocean views are the ones to get and this one has both. Fairly private lanai compared to most of the units. Great spot to watch sunsets. Hope to return!"

  • Newly remodeled Condo with good amenities and great location

"My wife and two teenagers visited Dennis and Cheryl's condo in mid August 2014. We had a conference at the Mauna Lani but didn't want to pay the exorbitant hotel prices at that hotel, so the Vista Waikoloa was a very well priced alternative. Its only about a 5 minute drive from the condo to the Mauna Lani resort, so it wasn't a problem at all. The condo had just been remodeled before we arrived and it looked brand new. The kitchen countertops are all granite and the floors were all large tiles. We were amazed at how large the lanai was, and we spent nearly every breakfast and dinner out on the lanai and watched both the sunrise and sunset. Our unit has a nice view of the first tee for the Kings course golf course. The Vista Waikoloa condos are all part of the Waikoloa resort area, and there is nearby shopping at the Queens Marketplace and Kings shops, which is an outdoor mall with shopping and a grocery store, which we used to stock up on supplies. The prices are similar to Safeway , maybe a little more expensive , and the selection isn't as great, but it worked for us. The owners also gave us access to the Mauna Lani resort beach, where we swam and snorkeled several times. It has beach chairs and umbrellas, and also has an activity center where you can rent snorkel gear, boards, etc... We didn't need to rent anything because the owners provide much of the snorkel gear in their condo and we had also brought our own gear. There is also a restaurant/bar called the Napua right there on the beach if you get hungry/ thirsty. The Kohala resort area is a fair drive from Kona, and it takes from 25 - 35 minutes to get there , depending on traffic. Its also a pretty good drive to get to Hilo , and it took us about 2 hours to get there by taking highway 19, which is a much more scenic way to go than the Saddle road. But we spent the majority of our time in the Kohala area , which has by far the best beaches on the west side of the island. Anaehoomalu beach is only a 3 minute drive away and we watched several sunsets there, and the Hilton and Marriott both have very nice resorts within walking distance from the condo. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay there and would not hesitate to return when we come visit the West part of Hawaii again."

  • Excellent Value, Location and Owner!

"What sets this condo apart from all others is the owner's attitude! Zhanna is very responsive and professional and the whole trip went off without a hitch! The location at the edge of this large resort made access to the highway quick and easy. No noisy neighbours or young kids, nice soaking pool, parking garage for the Jeep (an real perk) and good access to the shops. Go to the large grocery store in the village of Waikoloa and skip the Island Market. Try the Lava Lava Beach Club for Mai Tai's!"

  • Paradise

"My husband and I had the pleasure of staying 10 wonderful days in Don and Cheryl's beautiful Villa. From the moment we walked in the door we felt at home. The amenities are too many to to list, there was nothing I could see that was not there. Everything was higher end and better than anticipated, we have stayed in several other vacation rentals on the Big Island and Maui, this was our favorite by far. The owners Don and Cheryl were wonderful to work with and extremely helpful. The welcome touch of Kona coffee and cookies and candy made us feel welcomed. We will be back for sure !"
