Recent Waikoloa Beach Resort reviews

"My husband and I had such a relaxing time and the condo was perfect. It is so beautifully furnished but there's also a cozy warm homelike feeling. It's even lovelier than in the photos and if I could have my oatmeal and tea every morning on that lanai with the view of the mountains, ocean and greenery, I would be the most contented person alive. I'm not sure if it was b/c we were there in June (off season, I believe) but Hali'i Kai was such a quiet & peaceful place. We loved it so much b/c it felt like such an oasis even within the Waikoloa Beach Resort itself. There is a great path along the ocean that starts just left of the Hali’I Kai Clubhouse and ends at A-bay. It takes you along the gorgeous rocks and crashing waves and then thru the Hilton grounds which is really big and busy but an interesting place to see. Seeing dolphins pretty close up was very cool. Waikoloa Beach Resort grounds were so beautiful and well cared for & staff in all the different areas were so pleasant and helpful. Most days we went to Hapuna Beach (up the highway a bit) which was beautiful. Such a perfect beach for sunning, swimming and snorkeling (by the rocks). The weather & water were perfect & it was never too crowded even on the weekends. Volcano National Park was a bit of a drive but really cool hiking and seeing volcano craters and a rainforest. Not able to see any actual Lava though unless we went on and air tour… Most nights we grilled out on the Lanai, which we loved, but one night we splurged and went to the Saturday night Clambake at the Mauna Kea Resort up the highway a bit. We had a table just at the edge of the beach, watched the sunset and had all-you-can-eat lobster, shrimp and anything else you can think of. Wonderful atmosphere and delicious! The owners of our Hali'i Kai condo were very helpful prior to our arrival answering questions and recommending places to go. There were a lot of beach gear (chairs, towels, coolers etc.) available for our use that made it so convenient to head out to the beach. We will return here for sure and we highly recommend it to anyone wanting to be around a lot of really cool stuff but not directly in the middle of the chaos. -Trish"

  • Great value, great location!

"Very much enjoy this well maintained condo conveniently located in the Waikoloa Beach Resort area. "A" Bay is great for paddling and snorkeling with the turtles, while the other fantastic beaches of the Kohala Coast are just minutes away. Have visited the Kona area a number of times staying previously downtown or in Captain Cook, however this is now my "go to" lodging. Sunnier weather, less noise & traffic, better beach access, and more laid back dining options are a few of my reasons. I've now stayed in this unit a number of times and would not go back to the Alii drive experience. Thanks!"

"We were a party of 6 age 60 - 70. It was a little difficult being on the 2nd and third story. Parking was a problem when you have a visitor. It would be nice to have more than one set of towels per person. All in all the space was good and met our needs. The pool area was lovely."

  • Simply the Best

"We stayed for 10 days at the Hula Moon villa beginning of August. We immediately felt at home. The condo is very spaciuos and we wish we had those high ceilings at home! It is equipped at a premium level with household appliances, and also the little things like spices, kitchenpaper, coffeefilters, toilet paper etc. you do not need to worry about. We loved going for an early swim in the ocean, we were almost alone all the time. And even hurricane Iselle could not taint our Hawaiian paradise experience. We will definetely be back next year!"
