  • Excellent location, excellent property

"We had a great vacation and the condo was, without a doubt, a bonus. It was very clean and extras were provided, such as beach towels, snorkel gear, a cooler, etc. The owner, Richard, was very good to work with."

  • Excellent Choice

"My wife and I stayed for three weeks in Jan-Feb and found the condo to be just what we were looking for - despite its proximity to the pool it was very quiet during our time there and all the components, kitchen equipment, air-con, laundry etc. were in good nick. Only had to make one call to Heidi in our three weeks re. the wi-fi and this was instantly resolved and I am certainly considering booking again for next year. Played both the golf courses at discounted rates (slightly more than advertised) and would recommend along with Hapuna and Mauna Kea if you can secure a good green fee rate. Favourite beach spot was up at Puako and we went on some great snorkel and whale watching trips from down the coast."

  • A much needed Spring Break

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family of 5 (children 7,9,11) stayed at Halii Kai, 12C for a week and were very happy with our stay. Although, the condo we a little smaller then I expected it was really perfect for my family. The beds are AMAZING! As a matter of fact, we took the info off the mattress so we can buy one for our home. There are coolers, chairs, beach mats, and umbrellas at the condo for taking to the beaches. They were so awesome to have available! We thought the condo needed a couple good boogie boards, so we purchased two and left them for future guests to enjoy :) The beaches near Waikoloa Beach Drive and the Halii Kai are wonderful for people of all ages to spend a day swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding, or just bouncing in the waves. The pools at Halii Kai are very clean and have a nice tropical look that makes watching the sunset a true magical experience... made even better by having a Lava Flow in hand to sip on while watching the sun fall below the horizon. You will not be disappointed by staying at Halii Kai! I know we'll be back!"

  • Book it...Danno!

"We have been renting vacation homes from owners for over 10 years, sorting through many listings looking for that perfect rental. In March 2015, we chose a real winner. The Lepley’s were great to work with and villa and the Colony Villa property were a delight and exceeded our expectations. From the first day we arrived it felt like “home”. It’s spacious and although there was only two of us there is definitely lots of room for 6 adults. It’s nicely decorated and the furniture and beds are very comfortable. The unit was very clean, in good repair and all the appliances were in good working condition. They provided everything we needed for visits to the beach. The lanai faces east, a great spot for our early morning coffee. By mid-afternoon it is in cool shade. Perfect for afternoon drinks and supper. When we were looking for late afternoon sun- we simply moved our chairs out onto the lawn. The commercial grade gas BBQs located at the end of the driveway made cooking supper quick and easy and the BBQs were cleaned regularly by the maintenance staff. It’s the social gathering place in the early evening! The Colony Villa property is nicely landscaped and well maintained. We enjoyed lazy days around the pool. The water was warm and deck areas were clean and had several lounge chairs and tables. We took advantage of the golf discount package offered by the Lepley’s. We played both courses and found them to be in good shape. The friendly staff at the golf course always managed to find a tee time that worked for us. The Waikoloa Beach resort area has a variety of restaurants, shops and a small supermarket and of course the best beach at “A” Bay. But, be sure to rent a car, pack your Big Island guide and GPS. With its quick access to major highways, the location of the Colony Villas is perfect for exploring this remarkable island. The upgrades and improvements to the Saddle Road allowed us to safely cross to Hilo in just over an hour, and reach the volcanoes in under two hours. Our day trip adventures included: secluded beaches; lush rainforests; quaint and charming old Hawaiian towns; finding local eateries and coffee shops; hikes over the lava to historic sites and national parks; fascinating volcanoes; and interesting botanical gardens. One of the highlights of our trip was a tour to Mauna Kea summit for sunset and star gazing with Adventure Tours. Not to be missed! It was a memorable way to end our GREAT vacation."
