Recent Waikoloa Beach Resort reviews

  • Happy Guy, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

"We stayed at this condo from March 28,to April 6, 2014. We love the condo. It was perfectly suited for our family (my wife, 2 teenage boys and a 22 year old daughter). The pictures on the owner's website accurately portray the interior and exterior of the property. I like to cook and the kitchen was well equipped. The previous reviewer mentioned an issue with the dishwasher, but we had no problems with it. The garage had beach umbrellas, chairs and boogie boards which came in very handy on our beach days. Situated on the main floor, the lanai gave us a sense of greater space. We loved having breakfasts and lunches after golfing on the lanai. The condo is situated on hole #3 (not #8) of the Beach Course of the Waikoloa Golf Club. The condo is conveniently located across from the Queens Shops and is very close to the pool, workout centre and the bbq area. I echo the previous reviewers' comments about the location of the condo in terms of proximity to beaches, Kona, etc. The owner, Lisa, was very good to deal with and responded to my queries in a timely manner. We had a 10:30 PM flight on our last day, and Lisa was able to accommodate our request for a late check out. Thanks, Lisa, for making our stay an enjoyable one. We would definitely stay at this condo again!"

  • great location, good value & trustworthy owner

"i think the "worst" part of renting a VRBO is the possibility that the owner is a scammer and will steal my money. well, leroy does tax preparation in southern california (his profession put my fears at ease) and is a prompt communicator. you can also pay by credit card so really the credit card company is on the hook v. paying by cash/check. the property was as good as advertised. we were in town for a wedding and had friends staying at the marriott & hilton (both a half mile walk) so the location was perfect for us. plenty of towels to bring to the beach (close by) or pool. a reserved parking spot was also convenient. the property even had a few items like cooking oil and some spices to easily prepare a few meals. so overall the property was great and i would recommend it. the only nitpick items would be the stove is difficult to operate and it took my group a few minutes to figure it out. i believe this is because the stove is old so some directions might be helpful. we also didn't have any dishwasher soap so we had to hand wash everything but i imagine that was just a temporary out of stock item so no big deal. he provided no bath bar soap - he did provide body wash (and liquid hand soap at the sinks) so this is also no big deal - just a preference. as a runner, there weren't too many good running routes aside from running up and down the Queen K highway (the main/busy highway). i also imagine most properties have this "issue" so also no big deal. the shoulder on the Queen K is quite large anyways."

  • Perfect getaway

"My friends were getting married at the hilton next door so this worked out perfectly! We were able to go grocery shopping and mostly hang out in the house bc it's so open and has 2 lanais. It's not very close to downtown but it's for restaurants and shopping in the complex and a gorgeous pool and beaches nearby!"
