  • wonderful condo, great location and amenities

"we were wonderfully surprised at the condo we had rented. the deck overlooks the golf course and has a nice breeze. the location was about a 10 minute walk to the A bay or a 2 minute drive to park and drop off your stuff and park. Amenities were fantastic and they were very gracious in providing us a great pac-n-play for our 7 mo old, a high chair and some snorkeling equipment as well. Definitely will go back and try to stay at the same place. Washer and dryer were a blessing coming from the hotel on Oahu"

  • Perfect place to stay in Waikoloa Resort

"My mother and I spent a wonderful, relaxing week at this condo. It's perfectly situated near the pool and clubhouse, which we discovered is very important at Hali'i Kai. We remarked more than once that we were so glad we were not in units closer to the main road as it would be a very long walk and quite difficult for mom. This unit is well appointed, the master suite is especially spacious with a very nice en suite. Housekeeping visited once mid week to take out trash and leave fresh towels. This was fine with us, and those who need more frequent visits can request as an add-on. The daily fee that covers the housekeeping and access to the pool was an additional $10 per day, which was reasonable. The wifi was easy to access via a code provided at check in. This was my fourth trip to the Big Island, and every previous time I have stayed along the Kohala Coast at major hotels. This time, rather than pay exorbitant hotel rates and resort fees we decided to check VRBO. This decision was the right one. For much less than the cost of two rooms and the logistical challenges of meeting for meals, etc, we had plenty of space and the ability to have breakfast and lunch in the condo or the pool (the spinach salad was a favorite). The Hali'i Kai is a beautiful spot from the condos to the pool area. Quiet, well managed, very friendly staff. Waikoloa Resort offers good restaurant options, and some shopping. These are a long walk or easy drive from Hali'i Kai. Having been around the island several times, we stayed close to home for the week. However, it is a great location for day trips to see all this incredible place has to offer. The owner was very responsive during the reservation stage and the check in and out processes were a breeze. We would definitely return to this condo on our next visit to the island of Hawaii!"

  • Wonderful!

"We really enjoyed this condo, and the owners were very good to work with. The location is great, being close to the best beaches, shopping, entertainment, and easy to go to other parts of the island. The condo itself is comfortable, spacious, very tastefully funished and decorated, and well equipped. The Shores is beautifully landscaped, gated, not congested. Parking is easy, and the elevator was appreciated. The breezes on the huge lanai were wonderful and we enjoyed mornings and evenings there with beautiful sunset skies over the ocean every night. We hope to return!"

  • Great rental, location, and good owner to work with

"We had a fantastic stay at this unit. It was just two of us so we were happy to find a place that was less expensive but not far from the water. The unit had everything we needed. In the closet were lots of things we found useful at the beach. Chairs, boogie boards. snorkel/fins, cooler, etc. We were even surprised to have a nice gift basket of food goodies which we enjoyed. It is very convenient to getting to Hapuna Beach and Beach 69 (10 minute drives) which are some of my favorites on the island. The complex was very quiet. There is a road in front of the unit but the traffic was pretty minimal. We appreciated the peek-a-boo views of the water from the lanai. We also enjoyed walking/jogging out of the unit along the public access trail that goes to A-Bay nearby. There is a grocery store in the resort village a few minutes drive away that has the usual groceries and some nice del options for breakfast/lunch/dinner if you want alternatives to going out to the restaurants. Groceries are less expensive though closer to the airport at the Safeway and Costco so if stocking up may want to go there. Robert the owner was easy to work with and trustworthy and got my deposit back promptly."
