Recent Waikoloa Village reviews

  • Good Times

"Our third stay at Waikoloa Villas, and the best yet. The location of this home is great with views across the golf coarse to the ocean a few miles away. There was everything we needed for a two month stay. The well equipped kitchen is just right. Being in the last building, it is very quiet, but just steps away from the pool and BBQ. We look forward to our return."

  • Awesome property

"This house has everything you could possibly need and the location is perfect! Hapuna Beach is 15 minutes away, Hilo and the North Coast are easy drives as is Waimea. I highly recommend this property, sadly we leave today but we will be back and definitely will stay here again! Very peaceful and watching the wild turkeys with my morning coffee!"

  • Another wonderful stay at Laughing Gecko Fairway

"This is the second time I have stayed at one of Ali's Laughing Gecko condos. This is a great location if you are looking for something central to explore Kona, Waimea, Hawi and Kahala. I personally stay here when I have conferences to attend at one of the Waikoloa resorts as it a far more affordable option than the resorts and I love the "homey" feel after a day in a conference room! But, it's also a great affordable option in general for any stay -- if you don't mind being a little ways from the beach. It is approx an easy 15 minute drive to the resorts and beach at Waikoloa and maybe 20 minutes to the beautiful Hapuna beaches. Ali has exquisite taste and her condos are gorgeous."

  • Perfect!

"It was exactly like the pictures and was exactly as promised. It's always a bit tense going to a new VRBO but from the minute we walked in the door and started exploring it was great! Andrew was a wonderful host. Always accessible by email if we needed him. We didn't because everything was already done and waiting for us. The house is about a 5 min walk to golf course (get 4-round pass cheaper), 15 min walk to Market, 20 min drive to Hapuna or you can just wander through the village with the wild turkeys! The house is stocked with beach towels, umbrellas, beach chairs, snorkel gear, pool toys, blow dryer, grocery bags, coolers, all kitchen gadgets, playing cards, cd's, dvd's and board games. The boogie board were broken but we replaced them and left the new ones for the next people. Its a sign of a good rental when you feel like home and want to keep it nice and contribute to the enjoyment. And its great not have to deal with an equipment rental place. The pool was the real added benefit. In the morning after a walk to cool off, instead of a beach day or in the evening after dinner to relax it was perfect. It's very private and welcoming. The location of Waikoloa is good too. If you want the amenities of the resort area the house is only 10 mins from A-Bay. We tried local north scuba diving but for more variety the house is about 20mins in the morning from the Marina in Kona where you can catch any dive boat you want. If the current permits try to get on the Neptune Charlie's Black Water dive. A don't miss excursion is the ATV/Waterfall ride in Waipio Valley. The best burgers on the island are just up the road in Waimea at Village Burger. In the end, we were sad to leave. If you book this house you will enjoy your stay. We did the research, arguably its the best accommodation in the area, E komo mai. Mahaolo"
