  • The perfect place to stay on the Big Island!

"We had an absolutely fabulous time in this home. The open floor plan was great for all of us and we also had the downstairs studio. The driveway is as described but after the first trip up it was fine, parking was good and there was a cooler and other beach items for our use. It is very quiet and peaceful and the decor is just as you would imagine in Hawaii. Everything worked, plenty of space for everyone and the views truely were awe inspiring. It is a great location to explore the Island and altho 20 miles from Kona it can take about 40 minutes due to the 2 lane road. We all agreed we would stay here again! There is allot of Aloha in this home. Peaceful day..."

  • Beautiful house and convenient location

"The house is beautiful, spacious, and has everything you need; the large garden is a wonder for kids to explore. We were only 6, but 10 people can be very comfortable here. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a blender for making tasty smoothies. We benefited from the snorkel gear, towels, boogie board, coolers, and even clothed for cooler weather (which you'll need if you go to Mauna Kea). We stayed 7 days and were sad to leave. Marci and Chuck were very helpful to us when we needed them, plus they had fruit and coffee for us on arrival. I liked the closeness to Honaunau for picnic and sunset and 2 step for snorkeling. The house is very close to a wonderful fruit stand (at mile 103-104 on hwy 11), and if you want to explore Kohala and the south part of the island, all from one location, this will be a great place to stay."

  • Unbelievable View!

"The Bamboo Hideaway is hidden away on a hilltop with an unbelievable view which you can enjoy from the huge screened in lanai that has two comfy lounge chairs and a table and chairs to eat at! To sit out there with a morning cup of coffee or a glass of wine was absolutely what I envisioned when we booked this unit and we never got tired of it. Super clean with spacious bathroom, comfortable bed, bright and airy. Nancy was terrific at accommodating any issues we had. A great place to explore from and so great to come back after a day of exploring to this quiet and relaxing place!"

  • Gorgeous Sunsets Every Night

"The house was perfect for our family. Dan was very helpful and informative without ever being the least bit intrusive. With seven adults in our group, we never felt cramped, in fact with the huge den and the many outdoor lanais around the house, there was always a quiet nook for just sitting down and reading a book. Yet, plenty of family fun pool side or snorkel outings to Manini Beach, a short walk from the house. Two Steps, another local swim and diving spot, was great fun with a spectacular array of fish which were practically in our lap when going into the water. It was always nice though, coming home here for a relaxing afternoon drink by the pool and watching those beautiful sunsets."
