"I was so lucky to find this place. I was traveling alone and read an earlier review that Garry will take his guests out snorkling/diving. I was worried how I would be able to do water activities as a solo traveler and this was the best arrangement. Garry and Sue are wonderful hosts and I had a blast hanging out with them the first night - They showed me the local fishing village to watch the sunset and what luck, the neighborhood had gathered around to watch the Pacquio fight and we were invited to join them. What fun! Their place is super clean, very cute and private. Garry had all the gear I needed and took me on a personal snorkeling tour 2 days in a row. He was so patient with me and I felt very safe swimming with him. Did I mention Garry is a fish! He would deep dive and point to beautiful fish and the unusual rock formations. He was on a quest to find dolphins for me to see! I had the time of my life. I highly recommend staying at SuGar cottage."

"We LOVED staying at Papalani Farm.. it was so much more than we expected.... the pictures don't do the property justice. There is so much variety on the farm... really fun gardens, fruit & nut trees, flowers, the food and fresh eggs from the chickens... The home was Peaceful, Clean, Spacious... we felt it was a great deal for the dollars spent. Nicely located for beaches, hiking, swimming with dolphins & going to the volcano. We hope to come back!
Nikki was a gracious hostess while giving us our space... I would highly recommend a massage from her too!"

"We stayed for 9 days at this little piece of heaven cottage on the cliff side. It was about 20 miles south of Kona. There are several grocery stores nearby as well as gas stations, coffee cafes and restaurants. The hosts provide lawn chairs, snorkel equipment, boogie board and lunch cooler which is very convenient for road trips or beach days. Step 2 beach is a 15 minute drive away for great snorkeling. The cottage has a full kitchen with a great countertop for eating, ceiling fans for circulating the beautiful breezes and enough seclusion on the property for adequate privacy. The morning visits from the hosts' dogs were lovely, very calm pets. Enjoy the ocean views and the beautiful tropical foliage from the attached tiki deck. Everyone will love this little gem and we look forward to another visit."

"What fantastic place!! We loved Kealakekua Bay, and the house was just as impressive. As a realtor, I see A LOT of houses….this house has amazing flow, easily the best of any vacation rental I’ve ever been in, and better than 99% of the houses I see on the market. The layout is just totally perfect. You land, and it all just works so well-very intuitive. Super thoughtful design. It’s simple, but simply fabulous. Especially perfect layout for groups (we were two families) in that the house layout enables private spaces, and wonderful group gathering places as well. The large Lanai is to die for-massive slider doors open from the kitchen/living area onto the lanai, so provides for truly seamless indoor outdoor living. A complete wrap-around deck allows for multiple private outdoor spaces. Truly, just a fantastic layout and utilization of space. Everything needed was just right there, we loved renting kayaks (from Rufus just around the corner, such a sweet guy) and touring the bay. Really just a very special place, perfect location, perfectly furnished, and uniquely fabulous layout and design of home that made it a PERFECT place to stay. Thank you so very much!!! No dishwasher, which is no big deal, but does mean family gathers to do dishes after a meal. I know the friend we brought is already planning a return to the Big Island and wants to stay at your place…she also thought it was marvelous, and is dying to share the Aloha House with her family…"
