Amazing & Centrally Located
"We first stayed here in 2012 and fell in love with the Big Island. Returning three years later the house was just as amazing as I had remembered. The view is indescribable and the house is very clean with all of the necessary amenities. It's also located in a very convenient part of the island. Close enough to Kona to grab dinner but remote enough that you don't feel like you are stuck in a tourist trap.
I would highly recommend this house to anyone that is interested. We hope to come back again soon."

Welcoming arbor+ real Hawaiian experience+ real relaxation= immersion in a true Hawaiian vacation
"I've been to Hawaii before. Staying in the insulated boxes of the Sheraton/big box hotels and having a very tourist type experience that was bland and fake feeling.
But staying at a home, with all the things I needed, right in the middle of the local scene was a real Hawaiian vacation. I felt more connected with my vacation and relaxed far more than in any hotel. This home is close enough to run into town and do shopping and be a tourist or better yet.... follow the locals every morning as they walk past your porch to swim with dolphins at the Captain Cook Cove (Kealalekua Bay) and local park.
I loved being among the locals; feeling connected to the land and sea and felt less like a tourist in this home and more at home and at ease. It was wonderful..it is the only way I will vacation from now on and it was very hard to leave!!
The home has all you need, just grab food. It has plenty of room for all and the view was wonderful and special. My 16 yr old spent his time on the top floor observation deck and that is the best place to take a nap!! The sunsets up top were amazing, BBQ in the sweet shady backyard and then have dinner with the sun and sea at your fingertips from the top deck.
Stroll across the street and snorkel your heart out, walk home and enjoy the huge double shower to get the sand off and at your fingertips are the washer and dryer and sink to keep your suits clean and sand free. I found this to be so much nicer than having to worry about washing things off in a hotel room.
This is a very special home to vacation in and the location was wonderful.
Ill be going back as soon as I can."

"Meeting our "Aussie" relatives half way in Hawaii for a family reunion brought us to Kona Dolphin House. Six active seniors enjoyed the gourmet kitchen with everything one needs to make marvellous meals to enjoy on the beautiful lanai. The house is spacious and in a quiet neighbourhood away from the Kona tourist area. The local Captain Cook shopping area provided everything we needed. It was easy traveling to beaches, the volcano, etc using beach chairs, ice coolers, umbrellas and towels provided. The house and grounds were immaculate, the local manager attentive without being intrusive.the views from the lanai all thru the day were unforgettable."

"This was the perfect place for us! We started our two week vacation here to celebrate our 30th anniversary, stayed 4 nights then moved on to the Kohala Coast at the resorts, which is what we have been used to... love it of course, especially the Mauna Kea where we started together and are currently closing this adventure. We are so thankful that we decided to do something a little different, and we loved our choice and hope to come back soon!
We are also vacation rental owners so we appreciate all the attention to detail and professionalism from Dennis. The decor is so tasteful and modern, yet cozy and comfortable! Communication was perfect. We stayed in the downstairs studio... it was amazing to wake up and see the lush surroundings from three views! The only heads up is that A/C does not exist is "real" Hawaii, but you will hopefully adjust after everything is opened up with both ceiling fans on. We loved the outdoor shower like others have mentioned, used the snorkel gear (just have to rent fins in town - we got them at Pineapple for $5/day), used the ice chest provided (mini fridge only in the studio, gotta keep the beer super cold!) and beach chairs too. Get ice before you go down Napo'opo'o Rd upon arrival - there's nothing after that, you can get it at the Chevron station before the turn down the mountain. Plan to get ice daily. The Choice Market on the highway has the best seasoned chicken that we cooked on the provided BBQ - YUM! We also found the "hole in the wall" Sandy's Drive Thru (not really a drive thru and a tip from a local) really good for breakfast, best deal @ $4.95! Yep, Annie's Burgers is great! The drive / roads at first may seem a bit intimidating, but you get used to it fast!
Manini Beach is awesome, loved talking to Auntie Sandy and Ed (the shell guy) at the bay. The locals have basically grown up in this village and we felt more than welcomed, safe and embraced! We kayaked and saw lots of dolphins (my favorites!) in the bay, then got a tip that the dolphins were going crazy at 2 Step (5-10 min drive), so off we went - AMAZING, such a dream!! The next day too!!
Bottom line = AWESOME MEMORIES!!!! Thank you Dennis!!"
