"My wife and I stayed here for four days as part of our honeymoon to the Big Island.
LOCATION: Near Captain Cook and important amenities very close by like grocery store, gas, kayak rentals, breakfast, other nice food spots, coffee farms, beach, amazing snorkeling. Conveniences nearby but you feel like you are away from the heavily touristed Kailua-Kona, which is a 20-25 minute drive away.
SETTING: Five acre property with a few buildings on it, within a secure gated entrance. The huge and gorgeous main house is a separate building from this rental property, which is a smaller, not super fancy but in a very quaint, comfortable and peaceful setting. This rental is private from the other buildings on the property. Stunning view from the lanai. Waking up to birds, roosters and sipping coffee on lanai while watching sunrise. Weather was always comfortable and we spent both mornings and evenings in shorts and t-shirt typically. Mango, papaya, citrus, bananas, MAC nut tree behind house (an abundance of nuts you can crack and eat), avocado, pineapple...all available for picking.
AMENITIES: the usual stuff plus snorkeling gear, propane mini BBQ with a nice grill, washer/dryer, chairs, beach umbrella, fully stocked kitchen appliances. However, no high quality coffee making supplies, so if you're a coffee connoisseur you may want to bring your own stuff (for instance: only a blade grinder and Mr Coffee drip is available). We like burr grinder and French press...
MANAGER: Candi is a darling of a person and shares the Aloha generously. Available and affable but not overbearing. Lives nearby. Went the extra mile for us on a couple occasions. Also has 100% Kona coffee for sale which was grown on the estate.
