Tree House Hideaway
"We had a great time staying in this little spot. It was just what we needed; quiet, very, very clean and conveniently located to where we needed to be in the Captain Cook area. The weather was unusually hot, but the fans and open concept kept us comfortable. Would stay again."

"My husband and I spent 8 nights at Koa Cabin. We had stayed there several years earlier, and our wonderful memories influenced our choosing West Hawaii for this vacation as well. The location of Koa Cabin is stunning -- a huge expanse of land rich in foliage (macademia nut and avocado trees, beautiful flowering plants) that is extremely private. On the grounds, it is possible to sit at a picnic table outside the cabin, or have breakfast or dinner in the beautiful bamboo gazebo (at night, plug in the light string - magical.) My husband loved reading and dozing in the hammock! We picked up macademia nuts and used the special nut cracker to crack them, eating them with Heide's freshly baked bread and with the papaya, avocado, bananas, dragon fruit, guava and other fruits, piled high in a welcoming basket! The kitchen is marvelous, and it was a joy to create a dinner from fresh Hawaiian ingredients! I loved the sounds of the forest, including the tree frogs! Heidi and Jeffrey are the most hospitable, wonderful , caring hosts I have experienced in years of renting VRBO's. I could go on and on -- and have, actually, to my friends here who certainly wish they could fly to Hawaii and stay a week in Koa Cabin!"

"If you are looking to get away from touristy places, relax and enjoy the weather and beautiful, peaceful surrounds, this is a beautiful house to do it in. The hill down from the highway is exhilarating! Walk to black lava beach. Close to restaurants, coffee plantations, shops. Kona is not that far. The house has ceiling fans, glass doors to lanai, (we were there in August and were comfortable), coolers, beach chairs, snorkel equipment, washer-dryer. Reasonably priced. I would recommend this place highly."

Clean, well equipped & 30 second walk to Manini Beach
"Our family had an amazing stay at the Dolphin house. The caretaker was so thoughtful meeting us there later at night. The house had everything we needed & more - snorkel equipment, water shoes, boogie boards, etc ! The 30 second walk to Manini beach was so convenient and the water clear with awesome snorkeling. The "auntie" caretaker at the beach was so nice and full of stories! We found that we did have to drive further than expected when we had other activities that we needed to get to but this does not seem too unusual for the Big Island."
