Hale Hula = Hallelujah!
"If you are looking for a crowded resort that looks like every other resort you have ever been to, then Hale Hula is not for you. If you are looking for peace and quiet in an absolutely lovely cottage with every amenity, then look no further. The hosts are lovely, and the setting is idyllic. The recently constructed cottage is roomy, well stocked and beautifully designed and decorated. Coolers, beach towels, mats and chairs; snorkel fins; plush robes and slippers; an outdoor shower; wifi and movies; fruit and nut trees; and a well appointed kitchen--everything you need is here. We dined out at local restaurants, but we also cooked some delicious dinners, including macadamia nut crusted fish with freshly cracked nuts from the trees. The cottage is just a few miles from some of the best snorkeling on the Big Island and many other spots of interest. We have stayed in many rented apartments and condos in our travels, and Hale Hula was by far one of the nicest and most immaculate place we have ever stayed. If and when we return to the Big Island, Hale Hula will be our destination."

Warm, Friendly home away from home to experience the Big Island
"The house is wonderfully charming and close to great beaches for our 'keiki' (kids) aged 2 and 4. Its our second time back in two years and we wouldn't stay anywhere else. Very affordable in contrast to other places we looked into, and perfectly located to get a real feel for the island. Away, but not too far away from the hustle and bustle of Kailua-Kona, its the perfect location if you have a rental car. We had three generations under one roof and didn't step on each other's toes. Master bedroom is beautiful and the other two upper bedrooms are pleasantly spacious. Downstairs bedroom has loads of space, and was convenient for us since it also had the washer and dryer in it...
Its got all the amenities you would expect and a little bit of cottage charm. Highly recommended!"

"We LOVED staying at Papalani Farm.. it was so much more than we expected.... the pictures don't do the property justice. There is so much variety on the farm... really fun gardens, fruit & nut trees, flowers, the food and fresh eggs from the chickens... The home was Peaceful, Clean, Spacious... we felt it was a great deal for the dollars spent. Nicely located for beaches, hiking, swimming with dolphins & going to the volcano. We hope to come back!
Nikki was a gracious hostess while giving us our space... I would highly recommend a massage from her too!"

"Our sojourn at the Pu'uhonua House was amazing. Between the great view of the ocean, the incredible woodwork, the super-friendly hosts, and the lush yard, I'm trying to think of a way the experience could have been better, and I can't. Our party of six came to the Big Island for a family reunion, and all of us were blown away by this vacation home. After family activities out on the island, we would relax on the deck and ooh-and-aah about the many birds, the ocean, the yard full of fruit and coffee bushes, the geckos, the details of the unique house, and the total Kona-side ambiance. It was like living in a beautiful treehouse, totally unlike any ordinary house, combining pole-house and post-&-beam with a lot of lanais and beautiful wood-framed sliding glass and screen doors. The house is situated at the perfect altitude, up off the hot beach areas but below the cloud line. The hosts, Bruce and Nikki, were very nice and they had put a lot of work in to the house to keep it in great shape. Bruce was also very forthcoming about the history of the house and the techniques used to build it (a fascinating story). When we return to the Kona-side we will make every effort to book our stay at the Pu'uhonua House."
