  • Excellent Place

"We stayed at Carol's lovely place from 2-28 - 3/4 and it was fantastic. We wanted something peaceful but still close enough to activity and this is it. We also found that the place was larger than it appeared in the pictures, which was a pleasant surprise. The house is situated up a winding road from the main highway in town. At night, you can hear a pin drop it's so quiet. Every morning the view when you wake up is amazing. Getting to activities is very easy - everything feeds off of the main road which is a two-minute drive from the house. Carol provided us with everything that we needed - towels, clean linens, and beach chairs. Everything was well maintained in the house. All-in-all we had a lovely time and would highly recommend that anyone looking to get away, relax, and enjoy peace and serenity, this is the place for you. Thanks - Mike"

  • A Magical Place!

"We just returned from an amazing vacation at "The Blue Roof". An amazing home, in amazing surroundings this vacation home is a must see!! Hearing for whales in the morning and enjoying the most amazing sunsets at night, this house has something for everyone. A short drive away from the home is Hookena beach. Undoubtly one of the most amazing beach experiences ever. Whether swimming with dolphins, or exploring coral reefs this will be a beach day you will never forget. We highly recommend "The Blue Roof". • Great Vacation in Wonderful Home!

"The house was everything that was advertised! Beautiful views, well stocked and relatively close to local recreational sites. We spent a week here and on a couple of day traveled to the other side of the island. It is about a two hour trip, but there is plenty to see/do within a twenty minute drive. There was beach equipment available for our use, which was very convenient. Also, for anyone with teenagers, the wifi/cable were great quality. I would definitely stay here again if I were to return to the Big Island!"

  • Perfect paradise vacation

"This was our first trip to the Big Island and did not know what part of the Island to stay on. After many months of searching for the perfect location we chose this rental after comparing it to all the other rentals. The price was right and we wanted to be away from the tourist areas. We were not disappointed at all. This place was fantastic. It is everything that was mentioned only more we were not disappointed at all. The studio apartment was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied with lots of supplies for cooking but If you don't feel like cooking there are some good restaurants close by within 10 min. drive. The owner was great to work with and was willing to give information about the area. We received lots of info about the area and things to do before we even arrived so that we would have an idea of what to do. Our cleaning deposit was returned to us with in 4 days of returning home. We enjoyed coming back to this apartment after a full day of exploring this wonderful island. It is a bright and cheerful place and if I hadn't wanted to see the island I would have been content just sitting on the lanai enjoy the view of the ocean and the sunsets while eating the papaya that is grown on the property. We hope to be able to return to the Big Island and would definitely stay here."
