The Tree House - A wonderful tropical place to stay!
"We had a wonderful 9 days at this great "retreat". If you want tropical, you got it! Bananas and passion fruit right on the lanai with the hot tub! Anything you might need in the kitchen area. Comfortable and exceptionally clean sleeping and living quarters, yet so close to either Kealakekua or Kona. We loved our stay and hope to return. Reggie was so kind and quick to attend to any queries. We even felt like we got a Hawaiian guitar serenade in the evenings! Such a nice "Hawaiian" experience! A caution to anybody who might want to rent this - there are stairs involved, so be sure you are agile enough to climb a few stairs.
We enjoyed a fish and chips dinner at Annie's (really close), and Bianelli's Italian restaurant in the Keahou Shopping Center was also a good place eat."

"My husband and I spent 10 days at Hale Hula and we felt that we had made the best choice EVER in our holiday
property rental history! All amenities were there; the cottage is in perfect condition with no exceptions; our hosts
were completely accessible when needed for info. on local fun and food; the bed is very comfortable, and the property itself is lovely, secluded, and pristine. We spent hours on the lanai in the morning, listening to the many birds, reading and having coffee and then went about our daily adventure. I would recommend this for those seeking true relaxation in a quiet setting with everything you need to have a perfect un-hassled experience. We hope to return for another longer visit!"

"A good 50-60 minute drive from Kona's buzz this slice of easy, was right for us and I would recommend to any independent travelers. Not independent travelling alone, but without the needs of tourism. We stocked the fridge with essentials and just slowed down...
The deck has an unbeatable view, and a massive couch to lounge in and enjoy the sunset, G&Ts, beers, books and naps.
There's another massive day bed / couch in the living room. Almost intimidatingly comfy, 'cos you might just get stuck all day. All i can say is, chill out & enjoy.
Re location : 15 mins to captain cook w/ a farmers market, grocery store and Mahina Cafe where you owe yourself the luxury of a) a great meal and b) ordering a pie to pick up tomorrow. Seriously.
1hr closer to the volcano and the webside (go see it for the different fauna)
And if you are jumping on a dive boat it is a hour in the am behind school buses.
BUT TOALLY WORTH IT
Re: house stuff
There's all the basics, plus coffee grinder, bullet / blender and I think I saw a sandwich press. Wifi. Ceiling fans, beach basics...
Oh and where possible, Mike is accomadating: our flight wasn't till late in the evening and he was okay with pushing our checkout till early evening. Really makes a difference to be able to use your last day!
Oh! And awsome gecko watching too."

"My wife and I, our two daughters, their partners and two grandchildren all stayed here for the most wonderful week. The house is outstanding with a huge wrap-around porch and each of the four bedrooms had its own bathroom. The kitchen is super equipped and stocked with spices, oils etc. We all loved the pool, kids most of all. This area of the island has everything close by; beaches, restaurants, stores, historic sites, coffee farms and Kailua is only 25 minutes away. The manager is next door and very friendly and helpful. We couldn't have been happier. The worst part was having to leave."
