  • Wonderful accommodations and hosts!

"I enjoyed a week stay at Kona View Estate in August 2014 with my wife and two children, ages 12 and 14. The house is lovely, clean, modern, and really had everything we could possibly need during our stay. It is spacious and very relaxing to spend time both inside the house and out by the pool and Lanai. When we weren't traveling around Kona, we enjoyed lounging in the house, where we also made most of our meals in the well stocked and inviting kitchen and outside grill. It was really just a wonderful week on the Big Island! As for our hosts, Randy and Atsuni were warm and gracious while respectful of our privacy. They answered any questions we had, delighted us with some delicious Cappuccino, and made our stay most enjoyable. Atsuni also does Rolfing and Gyrotonic body work in the downstairs gym. My wife worked with her for a separate but reasonable fee and loved the experience. In all, we had a wonderful stay at Kona View Estate and would absolutely come back. It is important to note that the house is in Holualoa so beaches are a drive. Kona View is best for visitors who are looking for a relaxing stay that is close by but away from the busier parts of the island. Coming from the bustle of a big city, we were very happy getting away and enjoyed the relative quiet and the stunning views from our Lanai. We would head over to the Beaches, Volcano, or into downtown Kona but really cherished the serene beauty of this home. Our family certainly enjoyed a restorative and lovely week there. Thanks so much Randy & Atsuni, and hope to see you again!"

  • Fabulous place to stay!

"Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful... Great place to start the day! Great place to end the day! We stayed 11 nights and are so glad we did. The fabulous architecture and details such as stacked huge windows that open to make the outdoors come in are stunning. Amazing attention to detail. We highly highly recommend the Snell Farmhouse. Serenity!! The accommodations are extremely nice, well appointed, and well thought out. This is a very special tropical setting. The grounds are well taken care of and a pleasure to look at. We bought fresh fruit down the road at a local produce stand and had a marvelous dinner at Holoaloa Cafe. We ate papayas and passion fruit on the lanai every morning- what a treat! Every evening we rushed home to see the sunset. We felt like a local. Went coffee tasting at Hula Daddy. We did a lot of driving, but I wouldn't change our location in the farmhouse with it's great view and wonderful infinity pool. Pictures don't do this place justice. Blankets are available if you get chilly. Everything yo need is there. We did bring ear plugs based on a previous review. (Yes, we did use them. No worries) The advantage of this place: We were not cooped up in a condo elbow to elbow with other people. Great view. We were able to "get away" and really relax. Thank you Mo for sharing your treasure!! Ramona and Bill"

  • So close and yet far enough!

"The view - spectacular! You are short drive from everything, but look down from the spectacular 2,000-foot ocean view from the cottage window and the hustle and bustle looks 100 miles away. I highly recommend for those who want serenity on their vacation. Sam, the dog treats you like an old friend the minute he meets you. The horses are friendly too. Can't say enough good things about our hosts. I would definitely come back again."

  • A Beautiful View

"My husband and I stayed here for a few months and absolutely loved it. The view is spectacular and the surrounding property is beautiful. It is a short drive to town and to some of the best snorkeling spots. Since we were there for a few months we were able to enjoy several types of fruit that grows on the adjoining property - rambutan, tangerines, star fruit, loquat, passion fruit, papaya and lots of oranges. Each type of fruit ripens at a different time, so what is available will depend on the time of year. Although citrus seems to be year round. The neighboring coffee farm (UCC) allows you to pick their fruit as long as you leave their coffee cherries alone. The home comes with everything you need from the kitchen supplies to beach supplies. The hot water never ran out - which is essential for four people showering following the manta ray night dive!"
