  • A great oasis after adventure

"My two adult children and I rented this home and loved coming back there after arduous days hiking, swimming/snorkeling, sight seeing. It is GORGEOUS. My only warning is about the steep driveway and entrance to the property. Al and Linda do warn about this, but it was pretty hard to find at night. Once found, we felt very lucky to come home here and wake up here. The balcony and view are even better than the picture. What serenity and the set up really served us well for eating in and making lunch to go. We also enjoyed the water equipment provided for guests. I don't believe that tourists without a car or those with limited physical ability would enjoy the experience as much. I will remember this experience and the time we had together for as long as I live. Al was very responsive when I called with questions, and in returning my damage deposit. Thanks!"

  • A romantic cottage

"We stayed 5 nights in the cottage and really enjoyed our time there. The place is really romantic and peaceful. Sidnie and Wayne are very welcoming hosts. The nights are cooler than at sea level, which is really pleasant. If you want to avoid the busy resorts on the coast and still be close to Kailua-Kona, this is the perfect spot."

  • A Real Gem - beyond all expectations, we loved the experience.

"The views are outstanding, the location is private, the house has a soothing feel to it, everything worked very well, high end appliances etc. Woke up to bird song and rooster crows every morning, poured a kona coffee and took in the views of the coast. Wouldn't have changed a thing. Will definitely recommend to friends and family."

  • Wonderful accommodations and hosts!

"I enjoyed a week stay at Kona View Estate in August 2014 with my wife and two children, ages 12 and 14. The house is lovely, clean, modern, and really had everything we could possibly need during our stay. It is spacious and very relaxing to spend time both inside the house and out by the pool and Lanai. When we weren't traveling around Kona, we enjoyed lounging in the house, where we also made most of our meals in the well stocked and inviting kitchen and outside grill. It was really just a wonderful week on the Big Island! As for our hosts, Randy and Atsuni were warm and gracious while respectful of our privacy. They answered any questions we had, delighted us with some delicious Cappuccino, and made our stay most enjoyable. Atsuni also does Rolfing and Gyrotonic body work in the downstairs gym. My wife worked with her for a separate but reasonable fee and loved the experience. In all, we had a wonderful stay at Kona View Estate and would absolutely come back. It is important to note that the house is in Holualoa so beaches are a drive. Kona View is best for visitors who are looking for a relaxing stay that is close by but away from the busier parts of the island. Coming from the bustle of a big city, we were very happy getting away and enjoyed the relative quiet and the stunning views from our Lanai. We would head over to the Beaches, Volcano, or into downtown Kona but really cherished the serene beauty of this home. Our family certainly enjoyed a restorative and lovely week there. Thanks so much Randy & Atsuni, and hope to see you again!"

Animal lovers will be delighted to snorkel in Kailua Bay, located next to the Ali'i Drive pier in downtown Kailua-Kona. Here, snorkelers enjoy a plethora of surrounding sea life, including the possibility of seeing moray eels and sea turtles.

It's Not Hawaii without Kona Coffee...

Most everyone has heard of world-renowned Kona coffee. Whether it's because of the flavor or aroma of this region's coffee, most visitors demand a taste of the exquisite brew. Fortunately, daily tours and tastings are offered by several of the Kona coffee plantations in the area near Holualoa condo rentals. In particular, The Holualoa Coffee Company, located at the Kona Le'a Plantation, is exclusively dedicated to employing organic farming techniques.

...or A Luau

Too much coffee and not enough sustenance will make anyone jittery. Rectify the situation by experiencing a traditional Hawaiian luau near Holualoa vacation homes. A luau is a reenactment of the original feast assembled by King Kamehameha II to signify the end of certain taboos at that time. Sample the tasty local cuisine and enjoy typical Hawaiian performances, replete with Polynesian customs like fire dancers. Island Breeze Luau at Kamakahonu offers visitors a genuine luau experience most evenings of the week. Live like a king - or queen - when you visit the Kona Coast on the island of Hawaii!
