"My husband and I stayed at the rental for 8 nights. We really enjoyed all the adventures the island has to offer, and the rental was the perfect place to unwind after a long day of sun and fun. The roosters do provide an early morning wake up call, but we kinda liked the sounds of nature vs. alarm clock. The unit is appointed with everything for 2 people, including towels, soap, dishes, ect. Very clean and comfortable. The grill and patio was great for a dinner at "home". We would definitely stay here again. The owners make everything very easy."

"The house is in a perfect location in regards to getting away from the tourists and yet being close enough to restaurants and sites. View is stunning and the amenities are spot on with the write up. Loved having the house to come home to after exploring the island. We spent 3 nights in Volcano (Hilo Side) and 4 nights here and for us this was a perfect way to split the island up with sightseeing. Yes the roster/chickens are there (note early morning cock-a-doodle-do's can be as early as 3am) however this really didn't effect us too much. Earplugs worked fine. The grounds are beautiful and everything was very clear once we got to the house (where to park, lights, appliances, etc). The pool is wonderful and no it isn't heated and that is fine by us - very refreshing and spectacular view. Glen at the cottage was wonderful and very friendly and we did not feel at all that having the cottage that close by affected our privacy or stay at all. The only thing that was a sad ending to our stay was that the gardeners came at 8am on our last morning. Although the house is very private, with the gardeners in the garden working there really was no privacy from them- which made changing and packing up a bit of a fun challenge :-)
All in all a fabulous place and we really enjoyed our stay."

"We were married in Hawaii 25 years ago, and over the years we have spent time on Maui, Kauai and the Big Island. This year, we wanted a special getaway as we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We came across this adorable cottage and from our very first phone call to Sidnie, we felt the Aloha spirit! That spirit continued to grow during our 7-night stay at this charming property.
From the moment we stepped inside the cottage, we felt relaxed and at peace. The room was attractive and impeccably clean. A beach blanket and two bathrobes were among the standard provisions, which we thought was a nice touch. We enjoyed seeing roosters and chickens on our daily walk, and then greeting Sam and the horses when we returned. The panoramic view was beautiful as we sat on the porch having breakfast, or even sitting at the table inside. We thoroughly enjoyed the privacy and quiet in our standalone cottage – and slept so much better than in a condo or hotel room! We equally enjoyed the welcoming, yet unimposing, hospitality of Sidnie and Wayne, along with their wonderful friend Annette who was visiting them. All in all, terrific hosts, excellent accommodations and a serene location! It was, indeed, a very special getaway! Thank you Sidnie, Wayne and Annette for everything!"

"My husband and I stayed here for a few months and absolutely loved it. The view is spectacular and the surrounding property is beautiful. It is a short drive to town and to some of the best snorkeling spots.
Since we were there for a few months we were able to enjoy several types of fruit that grows on the adjoining property - rambutan, tangerines, star fruit, loquat, passion fruit, papaya and lots of oranges. Each type of fruit ripens at a different time, so what is available will depend on the time of year. Although citrus seems to be year round. The neighboring coffee farm (UCC) allows you to pick their fruit as long as you leave their coffee cherries alone.
The home comes with everything you need from the kitchen supplies to beach supplies. The hot water never ran out - which is essential for four people showering following the manta ray night dive!"
