"We just got back from 8 days at this lovely home. If you read all the reviews, then you know what I am going to say. The ocean view is spectacular, but even the makua (hillside) view is superb because of the lush vegetation. If you are into fresh mango, lychee nut, etc. for breakfast everyday, this is your spot. We are grandparents who traveled with our daughter, son in law, and 3 1/2 year old and 13 month old grandkids. The master bedroom is at one end of the house, and you absolutely have privacy from the other two upstairs bedrooms. When the grandkids were awake at 6 am, we could barely hear them. The kitchen is large and very nicely stocked. We were happy that previous guests have left condiments, alcohol, spices! We did the same. Groceries in Hawaii are costly, so everyone just passes stuff along! The infinity pool overflows to a little wading pool below- perfect for babies and toddlers. We did not occupy the downstairs so I can't review that. Adam is a wonderful caretaker- he's there for questions, answers, concerns, but he leaves you alone if that's what you want. He was very helpful and had wonderful suggestions. One thing not mentioned in previous reviews is that the home is supplied with a variety of Hawaii tour books that are very helpful.(We wouldn't have brought all of ours had we known that) The house is very airy (I adored and will miss the master bedroom), and the almost daily tropical rains were very refreshing. It's much more comfortable on the hill than beachside and your view goes on for miles. There are 7 acres to explore, so you won't feel hemmed in at all!. Comfy beds! There's even a wine refrigerator! There are lots of things for the beach- snorkel gear, umbrellas, beach chairs, coolers, thermos, etc. You won't have to go to the store to buy that stuff. In fact, some people gave us a bunch of brand new beach chairs, umbrella and mats (they couldn't fly home with them) so we donated them to the beach supplies. The washer dryer made life easy- we packed less and washed clothing along the way. We have one tiny suggestion-a couple of non-slip mats would be helpful immediately out the lanai door and immediately inside the door. With swimmers, the paved stone gets slippery and we put towels there so as not to track water into the house. The geckos in and outside are great for keeping insects gone! One thing that is nice to know, too, is that although you feel a million miles away, there is a store very close."
