"Our family of eight had a great time at the "Stay in Heaven." There are three private bedrooms on the first floor all with their own full bathrooms. Then there are two bedrooms up stairs with twin beds in them (total of 5 twin beds). There was plenty of room for everyone. We loved the privacy the house offered too. Our granddaughters age 1 and 3 could be in the back bedrooms sleeping while the crew was out on the lanai making all kinds of noise. The lanai was where we gathered in the evenings, playing card games etc. There are nice tv's in all the bedrooms and lanai. The foosball table was a major draw for our compeitive family. The town of Kona is walkable but there is also a wiki wiki type bus that can pick you up and drive you into town. Kitchen is well stocked, two washing machines, two dryers too. Great time, great memories."

"The pictures are true and correct. Having arrived in the early evening with a six hour jet lag, Simmy was kind enough to meet us at the home to show us the ropes. The lanai is wonderful as is the view. There are at least two parks within easy walking distance for kids of all ages and there are enough water toys to entertain the entire crew. Keauhou shopping is about one mile away, has a KTA grocery, Pizza place(really good) and other shops of interest. Please note that food and alcohol is expensive in Kona like any other vacation spots.
The trade winds will keep you cool in late afternoon and somewhat chilled at night. The road noise from Ali'i Drive is minimal. You could drive a golf ball down Ali'i drive after 8:30 PM or so and wouldn't hit a soul.
For the chefs; If the item you need isn't in the house, you probably don't need it. The kitchen is fully stocked. There are two grills, one is gas and the other is a small charcoal grill and both work well.
For the bird lovers, get ready for a grand time with several varieties to observe. If you have little ones, you can fill the bird bath in the back with water and they can entertain themselves watching the birds bathe.
For us, the best was early morning with coffee on the lanai and watching the joggers and walkers go by and wave.
The trip to Kona Town takes about 15-20 minutes with the slow speed and stop signs. We would go in the morning and hit the lanai for happy hour.
One of the best things about this house is the host, Simmy. What a special person, if there is a problem or if you just want to know the easiest way somewhere, she is there for you. If you are a novice surfer and want to improve your style, ask Simmy really nicely and she might, just might help you hang ten. She still surfs most days. This house is a definite return for us.

"Our first time using VBRO and not knowing what to expect our experience was great. Our expections were exceeded - the condo is in a great location, across the street from a great snorkeling beach and easy access to shopping and adventures. We like to do our own cooking so we really appreciated the well equipped kitchen, the BBQ by the pool and the very private lanai with the great ocean views to eat our meals. We definitely recommend this condo for anyone visiting the Kona area and will come back ourselves some day soon for another visit."

"Had a wonderful 10 days at Kahaluu Reef condo. The beach is right across the road. Perfect for snorkelling and surfing or just relaxing. Also a short walk to Magic Sands if you want to try out the boogie boards. The pool area is wonderful after a long day to relax and barbecue. Also the Kona area has the best weather so a great place to stay. Thanks Bob for the hospitality and Paul for making it so easy to book."
