  • Comfy Kona Condo

"We spent a week in this fabulous condo. It had everything we needed and the location was really convenient for our snorkeling and diving. The best part was the spacious lanai with comfortable seating. We really enjoyed sitting outside and watching spinner dolphins, great sunsets, and kayakers paddling around. The interior was tastefully decorated and immaculate to a tee. Dave was very accommodating. We would definitely love to stay here again on a future trip."

  • 4th time staying...wonderful property and great benefit-to-price ratio in Kona

"I also wrote a review in 2013 but realized I'm counting, I think, my 4th stay this year. First, as everyone mentions, the sounds of the ocean and views of the whales/dolphins, etc. is awesome. Even more importantly, the owners are totally and instantly responsive. Prior stay, I got permission to replace the recently broken tv and get the wifi installed. This year Amber immediately ordered new blender. The upgrades are regular: new curtains and couch before; new tile coming this Spring. Finally, the unit is very well equipped with all the toys you want (ie snorkel, boogie board, chairs, umbrellas, etc) and the Aloha spirit at Alii Villa condnimium, which Gina mentioned in her review, makes sunset viewing a social event for all."

  • California traveler

"This condo was much more than we expected. We had everything we needed for our stay. All we had to do was grocery shop and enjoy our week on the island. The condo is beautiful with an amazing view from the lanai. The location was perfect for our travels. The complex was beautiful and well maintained. Thank you for a wonderful first time to Hawaii. I would definitely stay again if I returned to the Big island."

  • Paradise Outside Your Door

"Pros: Nice location, close to ocean. Watch dolphins and whales with your morning coffee if you step outside and sit at the right at the BBQ area. Has the separate bedroom which is so much nicer than a studio rental. Doable walk to town and beaches - a couple of miles, we chose this location for that reason. You need a car but that is a given in Kona and fortunately parking is included. . Quiet area, you feel safe. Well stocked with everything needed for cooking and beach items, even extra things you didn't even think you would need like scissors, tape etc. Fortunately even some condiments left from previous tenants so you don't have to go out and buy everything - just add to. Nice full size stove. Fridge was very clean. Brand new laundry facilities so you can do all your laundry before going home. Lanai was nice, you felt like you were in a little tropical forest until the last day, when they cut it all back to open it up, unfortunate for us that we had to have the worker hacking down vegetation our last day. But it isn't our condo, and the owner was putting it on the market so they needed to get a better view for selling purposes. Pool was clean and often vacant. Condo is located close to the pool and a Pro - right beside the BBQ area, also a Con - right beside the BBQ area, they have parties sometimes there, we were fortunate and none happened while we were there. Pro - condo management staff always cleaning/fixing/vegetation removal/garbage etc. very visible presence, but also a con - they can be working anywhere, sometimes right outside your windows at "inconvenient" times. Owner communication response time was good helps maintain faith in VRBO. Overall another good VRBO experience. Cons: Mention to cleaning staff to leave info booklet out on counter to answer any condo questions. TV either is or the size of or is a computer screen (you aren't there to watch TV, but at night a larger screen would be nice, but if the low rental price means a smaller TV screen, I can live with that. Was mostly clean but needs a little extra detail cleaning, overhead fans needed dusting, I know the staff can't get everthing. No AC stated, but the standing fan didn't work and the main living room fan barely sporadically worked. The price was why we chose this condo so we could stay longer not posher and if that is your priority it will fit your vacation needs, would stay again, Alii Villas is a nice community."
