Lucky family to have found Kee's house
"This house is everything you can see online and then that much more in person! We arrived on the Big Island after a long day of travel and pulling into Kee's house immediately set the tone for our trip. The house is gorgeous, and anyone lucky enough to find this house on VRBO should rent it for your time on the Big Island. The views are amazing - and background is perfect for pictures! The kitchen is so well equipped, and with the wonderful lanai and grill area, it makes you want to stay in and cook! We had members ranging in age from 10-47, and we all enjoyed the pool as well! Her location is on the "sunny side" of the island too! You will not be disappointed!"

"We absolutely adored this house right on the ocean. The view was spectacular - watching surfers from the outdoor kitchen and the amazing sunsets each night were priceless. The location was just far enough out of town to have privacy but yet close enough to be at the heart of everything. The sea turtles became our friends. We would definitely rent this house again in the future. ❤️❤️❤️"

"Our vacation to Kona was one of the best ever in part to our stay at Nohealani. The house is located at the perfect elevation and location-a quiet neighborhood, beautiful 180 ocean and sunset views every night. Designed like a hotel where all the bedrooms open to the pool lanai and view, we could have our own privacy, and come together in the large kitchen and living room. The house was very clean and shows recent upgrades everywhere. The hot tub is another great feature and sits in a secluded back yard. The owner thought of everything to make our vacation worry free! This was definitely a five star house for our family on a budget. Thanks Tina!"

"We spent eight nights at Sandra and Ken’s Great Kona Escape, and it was great! The property is absolutely beautiful and the apartment itself is spacious and comfortably furnished. The location (on the side of a mountain) provides great views and is central to most things you will want to see while on the Big Island.
Sandra and Ken are very nice people. They shared fresh papaya from their garden with us and really seemed to care that we had a good time (unlike the owners of another property we stayed at on Oahu who seemed to be in it just for the money). Also Sandra is a great massage therapist. The cost of the stay was equivalent to about $150 per night. You can't get a decent hotel room in Hawaii for that! And this was a big three-room apartment.
The only glitch is that the apartment is not air-conditioned, and we had thought it would be (the only reason why this isn’t a five-star review). This turned out to be a problem caused by the HomeAway system. If the owner of a property types anything in regarding air conditioning, the words “Air Conditioning” show up under amenities with three little dots after them. Only if you run your mouse over the little dots do you see what they wrote. In Sandra’s case she had written that trade winds and ceiling fans keep the place comfortable. This is true and we ended up not minding the lack of air conditioning all that much. But someone with respiratory issues who really needed AC would have a real problem.
I took a quick look at other properties on the HomeAway site for the Big Island and discovered others that said “Air Conditioning...” but what was behind the ... were the words “No air conditioning.” HomeAway really needs to change this as not everyone will think to mouse over the three little dots. They and/or some of their owners could end up being accused of false advertising!"
