Lucky family to have found Kee's house
"This house is everything you can see online and then that much more in person! We arrived on the Big Island after a long day of travel and pulling into Kee's house immediately set the tone for our trip. The house is gorgeous, and anyone lucky enough to find this house on VRBO should rent it for your time on the Big Island. The views are amazing - and background is perfect for pictures! The kitchen is so well equipped, and with the wonderful lanai and grill area, it makes you want to stay in and cook! We had members ranging in age from 10-47, and we all enjoyed the pool as well! Her location is on the "sunny side" of the island too! You will not be disappointed!"

"We were a family of 12, ages 5-67. This was a wonderful base to start out each day and end each night. We were very happy with the rooms, the location, the views, and of course the owner who was very helpful. There is enough space so if you wanted you could spread out and enjoy some quiet time, but you could also all hang out together..especially on the wonderful lanai. Everything in Kona is close, 20 min to Costco, Safeway, Walmart and of course some nice snorkelling spots. The following isn't complaints, just things you should be aware of; the pools are not heated, but the kiddie pool was warmer so thats where the kids spent most of their time. This may be different in the summer time. The roosters referred to in other reviews are noisy and they start in the middle of the night marking their territory by crowing. Bring ear plugs or just wait a couple nights and you will get used to it,mostly. There are ample kitchen supplies and condiments and the owner has extras that get left behind, like our sriracha sauce. I'd also recommend Google street view the drive from the airport as it is fun and twisty, respect the speed limits. It cools down nicely at night so no a/c is not a problem. We had a wonderful vacation in part because of this wonderful property and owner, and her cute "little" dog. Aloha and mahalo."

"If I could give this home more than five stars I would. This house was paradise! Richard is one of a kind host who literally goes out of his way to make your stay perfect! The view is breathtaking, the outside shower looking at the water was one of our favorite features and waking up every morning to the site of the surfers was just spectacular! I have rented many homes over the years and this by far is the most well stocked, clean, comfortable and relaxing! The house is the perfect location for everything you could need. It was a few minute walk to the beach where we snorkeled and took surfing lessons and only a short drive to the many restaurants in either direction. We absolutely loved this house and will definitely return hopefully very soon! Thank you Richard and Gloria for sharing your amazing home and all you did to make our vacation truly memorable!"

"I chose Hale Malihini as the perfect home to spend a family vacation in based on the location and pictures provided on VRBO. I was not disappointed. From the moment I showed an interest in securing the house for our family of 9, Ben was in contact with me and assured me of what to expect from a personal description of the home, to the area it was located in, and the finances. We were delighted to be so near White Sands Beach, as it became the first destination each morning for our one year old grandson, as well as the two teen grandchildren who loved to snorkel. We enjoyed exploring the entire island by day and were able to be back home in time for supper and the sunset. All of our rooms were comfortable and well appointed. We were especially grateful for the assortment of beach equipment including chairs, umbrellas, coolers, and water toys. We could not have survived our beach visits without them. We were able to take in the markets, coffee shops, and luau in town with just a 10 minute drive down Alii Drive. Our host was available and helpful from start to finish. Thank-you for a wonderful 3 week stay in your beautiful home, Jan and Ben. Mahalo."
