  • Beautiful, Serene and Cozy

"I stayed in this home and loved every minute of it. The home is beautifully decorated with exotic Zen-like decor... from the main living space to the bathroom and bedroom. Every time I entered the bathroom, I felt like I entered a bathroom in an elegant spa. The ocean view is breathtaking. The grounds are beautiful with a spacious patio and an outdoor hot tub. The home was well-equipped and had everything I needed for my stay. The owner is very warm and friendly. I can't wait to stay at this property again! It's truly an escape in paradise."

  • Christmas in Hawaii

"Pam was very amazing to work with. She was great at communicating and staying in touch with us while we were coordinating the trip and worked with our crazy flight schedule. We loved the Treehouse. Our kids enjoyed the pool, there was plenty of room for us to spread out and the location right in downtown was fabulous as we were able to walk most places. The house is an older home, but with tons of character and the property is clean. We are recommending this place to everyone we know that would be planning a trip and will stay again if we return to Kona. It was so nice to have a place to come home to when we had exhausted ourselves at the end of the day."

  • Paradise found !!

"Our 3 generation family of 7 spent Christmas here at this fabulous house. Lots of room/privacy/bathrooms for everyone. Nice bed linens, tons of beach/bath towels. The best part of this home is the ability to open the walls right up, the inside became the outside. While we didn't (luckily) have any mice or a mongoose visit us, we welcomed many geckos of all sizes into the house, as well we had the cutest pair of birds come to visit every morning, come into the kitchen and hunt for crumbs! Also had 2 gorgeous moths come in at night, sadly they couldn't be shoo'ed out & met their demise while trapped in the house. The odd flying creepy thing, & more than a few mosquito(?) bites, but no big deal.Whales came by to visit 2 days, was always fun to get up in the morning to see what type of boat had arrived off shore in the night. Pool was nice but I agree, hard to get in & out of , too deep for little ones. Everything else has been said...I think the best part of this home is the ocean, lying in bed listening to the surf pound at night is heaven, waking up to it even more so. There is room for improvement but nothing that would be a deal breaker . AS we were there over Christmas break there was not a lot of activity at the sports field, but I agree with one review, this could be a real issue. The few nights there was activity it was over by 9:00. Liked the constant security as i think there is a community of homeless people that sleep in the sports field. All in all, this is a great spot. Company was very easy to deal with!"

  • What a great place to stay in Kona!

"We absolutely loved our stay at Duke's House. My husband and I stayed there for a month. Another couple stayed with us for 10 days. We had plenty of room with the two bedrooms. There is a spacious kitchen, dining and living area. We had everything we needed as far as kitchen supplies and even spices. The bathroom has two sinks and the shower/toilet area is divided by a sliding door. This gave everybody plenty of privacy and room to get ready. The wrap-around deck was great for viewing the ocean, the cruise ship each week and the beautiful sunsets. Rory was a great host. We can't say enough good things about his hospitality. We had access to boogie boards, coolers, snorkeling equipment, umbrellas, beach chairs, and beach mats. It was a great location in a family-friendly neighborhood. It is very close to the downtown area and was in a great location for driving to the beaches, shopping areas, etc. Rory even had bikes for us to use. My husband rode quite a bit around the neighborhood and downtown. Just a warning though: it's all uphill on the way back! Some of the decorating and furniture could use a few updates, but that absolutely did not deter from our stay there. It was beginning to really feel like home when we had to leave. We would love to stay here again. Thanks Rory!"
