"While only a studio (vs 1 bedroom for example) the large lanai made up for any perceived shortage inside the condo. While at the condo, the only time we were inside was to sleep and make a meal. The condo was updated, clean, comfortable (bed was wonderfully comfortable) and exceedingly well equiped. Plenty of beach and bath towels. Lots of room to hang clothes as well as plenty of drawer space. A large bathroom for a studio with a great rain shower, and the kitchen was very well equiped. Full sized fridge with an active ice maker that was well used and a full sized range. We used the kitchen a lot as we prepared all breakfasts but one and most lunches and dinners there, eating on the lanai. Also in the kitchen was a washer and dryer that proved to be useful and convenient. The lanai was our favorite location to gather while at the condo. It was large, and even with a table, 2 chairs, and 2 loungers with accompanying small table, it never felt crowded. We spent a lot of time here watching the whales, dolphins, turtles, snorkelers, and various kayakers, paddlers, et al pass by not to mention the glorious sunsets. Also it was fun to watch the fishermen throw out their nets from the lava rock directly below. The condo building itself was very quiet but there was some noise from Ali'i Drive in the way of annoying "bikers" with their loud mufflers. Other than than we didn't hear the cars. We didn't use the pool but it looked inviting. We did use the supplied loungers on the grass in front of the condo to enjoy the sun and watch the waves come in. They were nice but could use a cleaning. We had great fun watching a couple of resident turtles feeding every day too. Parking under the condo sure was nice to keep the sun off the car. While Kona is within a long walk, we drove in several times and always, with some patience, found a place to park without having to pay the ransom the parking lots were asking. In Kona there are multiple choices for restaurants, our favorite was the Kona Brewing Company and we also enjoyed Spashers and Island Lava Java (amazing
cinnamon buns). We also enjoyed Kope Lani as a great spot for coffee (or ice cream) and people watching on Ali'i Drive. We have to mention Holly who was so accommodating for us. Our flight left Kona at 11:30pm and we were lucky the condo was not booked that day. Holly arranged for us to have the condo for as long as needed that day, thank you, you made our day so much easier. Great place, reasonable cost."
