"We happened to be in Hawaii during an unusual heat wave (even for August) so our experience was tempered by this a little bit.
The condo was great, and was just as advertised. Not huge, but perfect for two people. The kitchen was well stocked for those of us who like to do some cooking on vacation, and the living area was comfortable. There is a dishwasher, too, which was nice.
The bedroom area was large-ish and was clean and comfortable. The bed was a little squeaky, and the pillows are soft, like, really soft, which a lot of people like, but I had to double up so my neck wouldn't be sore. The bathroom was a good size and was serviceable.
There are beach items provided, including an umbrella, which, again, is really nice, and also included some carry bags, mats, chairs and a small cooler. The building was relatively quiet, not a whole lot of noise from the neighbors (its on floor 4 of I think 7), and there are laundry facilities on the first floor along with a machine to get bulk filtered water, which was good.
The building is set one block off of the "main" drag in Kailua-Kona (Ali'i drive) which made it super walk-able to most of the restaurants and even to a small local beach, and was right around the corner from a market open most days that had fresh fruits and vegetables.
The listing indicates ceiling fans, but there was an AC unit. The caveat is that the AC unit is set on a one hour timer. This made sleeping a little difficult some nights, as, again, we were there during a particularly hot time. We have been to Hawaii in August before and AC is not always needed, so this is probably not going to be a problem for most people, but if that type of thing is important for you then you should be forewarned.
Claudia was a great hostess, checking in with us to make sure we had everything we needed (via email - she wasn't popping by or anything) and overall it was a very welcoming, fun place to stay. We would definitely stay again."
