"Aloha! We've visited this Condo at Kona Shores several times over the past 10 years. It is a roomy, 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit upstairs in a quiet complex. The unit has a nice view of the ocean! There is a large outdoor balcony, which is great for sipping coffee in the morning, relaxing and/or unwinding in the evening. We really like the location (about a mile from downtown) and easy to walk to many restaurants and shops. Great easy access to places to visit along Alii Drive. The unit also has 2 reserved parking spaces that are just below the unit. I think the best thing about the unit is all of the little extras. Glen and Ginny keep it stocked with lots of the little things that you may not have considered bringing on vacation....things like a cooler, bamboo mats, snorkel gear, books on the island, detailed notes on unique places to visit, and much more.
Do yourself a favor, book this condo and go to Hawaii. Take Glen and Ginny's tips on places to visit and go explore. Bring the family or friends, and ENJOY!"

Beautiful, upgraded unit, great location, absolutely loved it
The property manager was very helpful.
The vacation rental was spotless.
I was very happy with the location.
I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
Pro's: Very nice, clean, modern, impressive upgrades, especially the bathroom and kitchen. Used the big cooler everyday. Love the lanai, great place for breakfast, wine, relaxing, whale watching. There was a mama whale with her baby that swam near this area. Great place to snorkel if the ocean is calm. There was even a wagon on the property to use to load and unload your vehicle. It's a good walking distance to shops and restaurants and morning walks. Unit 6-204 was very comfortable and inviting. Con's: No Safe to put away your valuables. Also, it would've been nice to have 2 stools at the kitchen counter."

"My wife and I took our retirement trip and stayed for four weeks at this unit. Although the vegetation blocked most of the view from the lanai, it was, nonetheless, a wonderful time and we enjoyed the accommodations greatly. We felt so at home there! Almost everything we might need, and then some, was provided in the unit.
The full island tour bus picked us up two properties down the road and dropped us off practically at our doorstep. Access to the entire Kona area was easy. We really hated to leave at the end of our stay.
Both the owner and the property management were a joy with whom to work. The grounds were beautifully kept. Communication was prompt and helpful.
We liked it so much that we hope to go back for our fiftieth anniversary, in a few years, with our kids and grandkids."

"We have been traveling to Kona periodically for over twenty years. In August, 2014 we stayed at the Kona Makai complex for the very first time, in this unit. The Kona Makai is now our new favorite place to stay. The location of the unit in the complex is great. We enjoyed the ocean view and sounds from the lanai day and night.
The unit was very clean, well equipped, and nicely updated. It is very well supplied with beach towels, high quality beach chairs, and umbrellas. There were also boogie boards.
The complex as a whole is very nice. The neatly manicured tropical landscaping make the grounds beautiful. The pool is quiet with very nice lounge chairs and large umbrellas. There are also some lounge chairs along the ocean for enjoying ocean sounds, views, beautiful sunsets, and meeting other guests.
The owners were prompt and thorough with every question we had. They also have a binder in the unit with information about beaches, restaurants, activities, and other information about the island. There was a current copy of "Hawaii, the Big Island Revealed." With this book and the owners binder, even repeat Big Island visitors will find some new things to do.
We highly recommend this unit!"
