Perfect Location & Perfectly Well Equipped and Clean Condo
"My mother and I stayed at this property for Christmas 2014 for 2 weeks. The location is ideal as you can very easily walk into town to do some shopping, try one of the many fabulous restaurants, hit the local market etc. Being along the main street in Kona allows you to go for some great runs as well. The condo itself is spotless and very well equipped. The building itself is very quiet and exceptionally well maintained. The lanai is huge and has separate areas for relaxing and dining which we appreciated. The new beds and AC units were a definite perk. We are grateful the owners shared this unit with us! Most definitely would recommend this unit and will rebook shortly!"

"Kona Daves condo is everything it is advertised to be. The condo was supplied with everything we needed, clean and the location is great. The complex was quiet until the 14 football players ages 9-10 jumped in the pool but hey kids are kids and it was sort of fun watching all of them. The ocean view isn't straight on but for the $ you couldn't ask for more, amazing sunsets each night and on our last morning the winds kicked up so we were treated to a group of surfers catching the waves? Would definitely rent from Dave again! 🌴"

"We stayed at the Dolphin House in July to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. Our group of 9 included my parents, my brother and I and our spouses, and my three kids who are in their teens and 20s. We all loved this gorgeous home and ideal location. The home is just as described and shown in the photos, but pictures are nothing compared to actually being there. We had so much space to relax and enjoy the ocean-side location and private pool.
We ate dinner in every night on the lanai and the huge table had plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen had everything you could ever need in term of dishes, utensils, small appliances and gadgets. There was even a small supply of some pantry items, seasonings, etc.
While at the house you feel like you are at a secluded retreat, but the grocery store, Target, Walmart, gas station, tourist shopping are just a few minutes away. Nothing was inconvenient. We used the home as our base and took day trips to Volcano National Park and the Hilo side of the island. Hawaii Island has very different landscapes in different locations and elevations and I highly recommend taking some trips to other parts of the island.
Perhaps the best part of the Dolphin House was the wonderful customer service. A major traffic accident in Honolulu caused us to miss our flight between Honolulu and Kona. It was a pretty dramatic and stressful morning getting our group of nine re-booked on another flight. I called Nicole to tell her we would not be arriving as scheduled and she was so nice - told me to keep her posted and she would tell the driver who was planning to pick us up. Once we had our new arrival time I called her again and she took care of it. What a delight to arrive at the airport to find a driver waiting with a sign with our family name. He helped us get our luggage, offered us cold water and a refreshing towel once we got to the van, and took us right to the house where our two rental cars were waiting in the driveway. We had a problem with the clothes dryer not working properly and someone came within hours to look at it. When it still didn't work properly the owner replaced it while we were out sightseeing. I was very impressed with the level of service and attention to detail paid to us by the owner and his staff and caretakers. A five star operation in all regards.
Our stay at the Dolphin House was the experience of a lifetime for my parents and one my entire family will never forget."

"We came to Hawaii to go to the Kona Coffee Festival, and decided it would be nice to stay on an actual coffee farm. Found this one on VRBO and decided to give it a try. We were definitely not disappointed! The home was exactly as described....clean and inviting! It was close enough to go to Kona and surrounding areas for activities during the day, and then we would come back to the house for a quiet retreat. Loved the wild turkeys every day, but had to get used to the Coqui frogs at night...very loud, especially after it rains! It was also a hike from the garage to the house, or vice versa, but it had us in much better shape by the end of the week...hahaha.
We cooked at home a few times, and the kitchen was very well equipped for our needs. There were plenty of towels and linens available, and it was great to be able to do laundry at the house when needed.
We went to the Mauna Kea Tea Plantation, the Vanilla farm and the Original Hawaiian Chocolate Factory, as well as touring a few other coffee farms...very informative. Also made it to the beach, which was beautiful.
We stayed at the house for a week, and didn't want to leave!"
