"Beautiful - everything you need is right here. Unbelievable views from the condo lanai. Saw dolphins from the lanai table while having breakfast, cruise ships parked 1/2 mile away in the bay. Sunsets that will blow you away!! Condo well stocked and nice gear to take with you to the beach, chairs, coolers, umbrella for shade (highly recommend using it, a life saver for us folks not used to a lot of sun!). This was our first trip to Hawaii and we did not know what to expect with a new experience of booking through VRBO but we could not have been happier. We read some previous reviews and they were pretty positive so we will add ours to them. The owner did everything she could to make our trip as easy for us as she could. We arrived quite a bit earlier than our original plan and she went above and beyond to get us into the condo early so we could get the food we bought into the refrigerator while the cleaning staff was still there working to prepare the unit for our stay. Much Mahalo for that!!! Great location! Walking distance to the village for shopping and we also walked to Royal Kona Resort for their luau. All in all we would highly recommend this condo for a vacation in Kona!!! Would give a 6 star review if I could!!!"

"We recently had a wonderful stay here. It's a corner beach-front unit with a spectacular view from the lanai. We spent many mornings and afternoons watching the waves and surfers from the lanai. It was very clean and well kept. It is in a great location, located about 5-10 walk away from the many downtown shops and restaurants. We walked to town often and went to a great luau next door at the Royal Kona resort. We used the pool a few times which my daughter loved and there is a large outdoor cabana with barbecues. Kitchen has basics such as cooking oils and spices. Laundry in unit. Easy covered parking close to the unit. And air conditioning was a plus - it would have been a bit too hot without the air conditioning.
The condo was well equipped with snorkel equipment, water shoes and fins of all sizes, beach toys, floaties, beach umbrella, and chairs. We were able to use all this equipment to shade our infant son on the beach and entertain our toddler daughter with sand toys. The condo also had children's books, toys, and stuffed animals to keep her entertained. There was a lot of thought in furnishing the condo, and that was greatly appreciated."

"This condo is so wonderfully located, first with it's short walk to all the restaurants and shops in Kailua Village (Kailua-Kona) but more so with its private corner on the top floor of the building and 180 degree (plus) view. You will enjoy watching the body-boarders and surfers right on your doorstep. Sunset's are spectacular. The pictures represent the property quite well so there were no surprises.
Most importantly, dealing with Jim was a true pleasure. We have never rented from such a responsive and honest person who truly wants the best for his guests. Due to a grave illness in the family, only a week prior to our trip we cancelled our reservation, not thinking we would be able to come, and hoping that during Spring Break there would be another taker. Jim was unbelievably accommodating of our situation. Luckily, we were able to come several days later and enjoy his condo for 8 of the original 12 nights. We would highly recommend dealing with Jim to anyone considering staying at the Kona Reef."
