"We had a wonderful vacation in Kona and this condo was perfect... very relaxing, which was our goal. The owners were easy to work with and provided reviews on everything including best restaurants, beaches, snorkeling spots and shopping. We picked up our food for the week when we arrived and had most of our meals on the lanai. The condo was very comfortable, had all the modern conveniences, a beautiful peak of the ocean and great bird watching and feeding. We walked down to the shore each night for a breathtaking sunset. We'll be returning to Kona and look forward to staying at this condo again. Mahalo!"

"Aloha! We've visited this Condo at Kona Shores several times over the past 10 years. It is a roomy, 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit upstairs in a quiet complex. The unit has a nice view of the ocean! There is a large outdoor balcony, which is great for sipping coffee in the morning, relaxing and/or unwinding in the evening. We really like the location (about a mile from downtown) and easy to walk to many restaurants and shops. Great easy access to places to visit along Alii Drive. The unit also has 2 reserved parking spaces that are just below the unit. I think the best thing about the unit is all of the little extras. Glen and Ginny keep it stocked with lots of the little things that you may not have considered bringing on vacation....things like a cooler, bamboo mats, snorkel gear, books on the island, detailed notes on unique places to visit, and much more.
Do yourself a favor, book this condo and go to Hawaii. Take Glen and Ginny's tips on places to visit and go explore. Bring the family or friends, and ENJOY!"

"I thought it was odd that Doug used the picture of the pool as cover picture and unfortunately for us we didn't realize sooner the reason why. It is a beautiful and awesome spot to just hang out and relax!!! It was probably the smartest condo property set up we say along the shores around Kona. Having the common area with BBQ and then the pool right up against the shoreline for all renters to enjoy the waterfront is smart designing, yes, just like a resort!!!
Then the finish/set up and access including parking was a very good, especially for Doug's place. It was well equipped and furnished. For a couple it is was definitely awesome for the price (no it's not a 6 star resort room). Would be pretty decent for a couple with smaller kids that can share a room/bed. The bathroom would be just be a bit tight for everybody to be brushing their teeth in the morning.
The next great surprise for us was a great little coffee/breakfast place right next door (The Green Flash)!!!!! Wife loved the Lattes and the breakfast sandwiches were very tasty and nice pastries (early morning because seem to sell out) for the sweet tooth.
Then the location was perfect because close the center of things without being in the hustle. About a 20 minute walk to the edge of downtown on the well marked and maintained wallking/bike lane along Ali Drive. And central to access to most of the best beaches and snorkeling along the coast.
Even though we were told it is a laid back place to visit there were plenty of activities besides the beaches and pool to explore and experience. Especially the Volcano national park and the landscape and small towns on the north highway loop. The vastly changing landscapes and vegetation make it a beautiful drive.
The last and happily wonderful experience was managing the whole rental process with Doug in the private process. Doug was on top of all communications and while not as simple as just giving a CC online he made and managed things very smoothly including a very timely return of security deposit!!
Thanks so much Doug. We will definitely make any plans early should we return to the Big Island so we can secure this property. Wouldn't want to take a chance on any less enjoyable of an experience visiting this beautiful, safe, clean and welcoming home and vacation destination!!!"

"What a nice surprise I got when I woke up, first thing Saturday morning! From my bed I could see the sky, hear the birds, watch the palm trees and a papaya tree (with fruit) right outside the sliding glass door and lanai. Loved it!! My boyfriend and I enjoyed 3 days before the rest of the fambam arrived. We went to End of the World where there is cliff diving, Kahaluu Beach, Puako Beach (didn't make it White Sands Beach which is only 7 minutes away because we ran out of time) and City of Refuge, a boat cruise, drove to Hilo to the water falls, saw the Volcano and(3 adults and one 5 year old) We sure enjoyed the comforts of home here. It had everything we needed. Even snorkel gear and boogie boards. We slept like a baby and the AC kept us nice and cool. Spent a few mornings, sipping coffee, on the grass lawn near the bbq/pool area BEAUTIFUL VIEW and the books of the Big Island for reference sure came in handy when looking for places to venture. Barbara checked on us and offered us ideas of places to discover like KUA BAY. Gorgeous beach. The price on this condo also helps when your feeding 6. I will definitely be back. MAHALO BARBARA :)"
