  • Perfect base location to explore the entire west side of the Big Island

"Very comfortable and well appointed place from which to explore the west side of the Big Island. I couldn't have asked for better, and the owner Doug was helpful, and super easy to deal with!"

  • OMG the view!!!!

"I recently went to Kona for a wedding and stayed at KBK. I have to say it was worth it! I left the sliding glass doors open to fall asleep and wake to the sound of the ocean crashing against the lava rock. The pictures here don't do this view justice; I'm so grateful to have been able to stay here while in Hawai'i. Pro's-the view, distance from the tourist trap (it's a little further down), truly private lanai, 2 sets of sliding glass doors, hot tub, close proximity to the water, the sea turtles I got to see every morning. Con's-salt damage to doors made it difficult to open and shut them, washer latch defective and my clothes were stuck several times (took a bit of work to get them out), snorkeling set needs replaced. Overall, even with the little "con's" that I have listed I wouldn't have chosen to stay anywhere else and plan to go back to the big island as soon as possible!"

  • Villa Kai at Kona Bay Estates - July 2014

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything about our vacation rental was great. This home is large (we had 5 adults and 3 children - 4 yrs/6 yrs/9 yrs), was very nice and was in a great neighborhood/location -- it had a wonderful view of the ocean/crashing waves/sunsets and has a neighborhood beach that worked great for our young kids (5 min walk). We were in the pool for hrs daily and the home even had some pool toys/boogie boards for use in pool/beach. Additionally, there were lots of rocks/tide pools for exploration and the home was within walking distance of Kona for shops/restaurants (15-20 min walk)."

  • Kona Reef D-33

"Rating Details: I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was more than helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo is a great value for the price. The pool, BBQ area, and the grounds around the condo are very clean, and maintained well. D-33 is on the 4th floor and oceanside. The breezes are better on the top floor, with more privacy and better views. You will get great pictures of the surf and the sunsets are spectacular. This particular unit was clean and stocked with about, everything you will need, with beach towels, bogie boards, coolers, beach chairs, mats, and good snorkeling equipment. It currently is in the process of a complete remodel, and we were satisfied with the unit before that. You will not be disappointed, and you can be sure there will be no surprises. If you are looking for something more fancy, you will be paying much more. Very close to everything in town, you really don't need a rental car unless you want to explore other parts of the island. Aloha!"
