  • Very nice ocean view

"We enjoyed our stay here, the description and photos are accurate and the condo is clean and well kept. Great instructions for check in, parking and locating the unit. The pool area is very nice and the bbq's and tables are great if you want to sit poolside at supper time. Kitchen is very well stocked if you like to cook some meals at home and the living area is spacious and comfortable. The lanai is also large and has a great ocean view, we enjoyed sitting outside every morning. The location is great, its a short walk to several resaurants, pubs and shops. Would stay here again."

  • We had a wonderful stay in Kona!

"We will definitely pick this owner and condo on our next trip to Kona! Everything was as advertised with view, amenities, and location. 5 minute walk to downtown Kona to shopping, restaurants, and Farmers Markets. Central pool, jacuzzi, and BBQ were immaculate and just steps away from our room to enjoy. Great property in front of condo to sit and enjoy Kona sunsets or walk. Centrally located to drive to beaches and sightseeing. Condo was clean, stocked with everything we needed, and quiet. Carol was wonderful to work with and the best of any of our many VRBO experiences."

  • Spacious and comfortable, excellent location.

"Although this unit in Kona Shores is somewhat dated(1970's), we found it to be spacious and very comfortable. we were here for 3 weeks and it felt like coming home every day. Our original idea was to dine out 2-3 times a week but we felt so at home here we only went out for dinner a couple times in 3 weeks. This is a corner unit with an L-shaped patio and a decent ocean view between two other condo buildings. The Master bedroom was large with a great king-sized bed. The unit was equipped with just about everything you could need in terms of kitchen items(except a dishwasher) plus Hawaiian music tapes, outdoor table(we ate dinner every night on the patio). In addition there were beach chairs, snorkels, flippers and other items(a BBQ on the patio would have been a bonus). There was also a pool overlooking the ocean which was hardly ever busy. The owners also sent us a package of information which was extremely helpful and informative. We are considering returning and would certainly recommend this unit."

  • Exactly as Advertised

"We enjoyed our time at Hale Kona Kai. The description of the property is spot on, and we enjoyed being in the end unit with the larger balcony. It was clean, the bedroom is good sized, comfortable bed, the kitchen and bathroom are small but well done, but you spend most of your time on the balcony anyway. We never even turned on the TV. The owner was easy to work with and responsive. It is an easy walk to the restaurants/shops on Ali'i street. Quiet residential end of the street. You do need a car to get to most activities, but if all you wanted to do was shop, eat and explore downtown Kona you could get by without one. Dedicated parking spot below the unit, one flight of stairs up to condo. If you wanted to use the elevator to haul the luggage, it is at the other end of the building. About a 2 hour drive from Volcano NP. Good beaches within 5 miles drive down Ali'i. Would definitely like to go back sometime and stay here again."
