"This condo was much more than we expected. We had everything we needed for our stay. All we had to do was grocery shop and enjoy our week on the island. The condo is beautiful with an amazing view from the lanai. The location was perfect for our travels. The complex was beautiful and well maintained. Thank you for a wonderful first time to Hawaii. I would definitely stay again if I returned to the Big island."

  • What a great place to stay in Kona!

"We absolutely loved our stay at Duke's House. My husband and I stayed there for a month. Another couple stayed with us for 10 days. We had plenty of room with the two bedrooms. There is a spacious kitchen, dining and living area. We had everything we needed as far as kitchen supplies and even spices. The bathroom has two sinks and the shower/toilet area is divided by a sliding door. This gave everybody plenty of privacy and room to get ready. The wrap-around deck was great for viewing the ocean, the cruise ship each week and the beautiful sunsets. Rory was a great host. We can't say enough good things about his hospitality. We had access to boogie boards, coolers, snorkeling equipment, umbrellas, beach chairs, and beach mats. It was a great location in a family-friendly neighborhood. It is very close to the downtown area and was in a great location for driving to the beaches, shopping areas, etc. Rory even had bikes for us to use. My husband rode quite a bit around the neighborhood and downtown. Just a warning though: it's all uphill on the way back! Some of the decorating and furniture could use a few updates, but that absolutely did not deter from our stay there. It was beginning to really feel like home when we had to leave. We would love to stay here again. Thanks Rory!"

"We just returned from a wonderful 11 day visit to Kona and a great stay in your condo. The view was wonderful, and we were thankful for the high table and chairs on the lanai as we were able to see above the railing and appreciate an unobstructed view! This is our 2nd stay at Kona Reef and will stay here again if we return. The location is superb. We enjoyed your condo and thought it was well equipped for our stay. I brought spices for cooking, as others had stated there were none available. I'm glad I did even for basic barbecuing. No gourmet cooking necessary. Too much else to see and do. Only criticism would be with housekeeping. I think that fitted sheets should be used on the beds, as the flat sheets kept coming untucked and were difficult. I think if someone is staying over a week, another set of sheets should be provided. With only a small box of laundry soap provided, I didn't feel like having to buy more soap to do basic laundry. The bathroom wasn't particularly clean, but that might be due to shower door and fixtures being quite old. This had no great impact on our overall enjoyment, however! Thank you for letting us share your condo."

"This was a very speacial trip for my mother and I . This condo worked out perfectly for us. The bed was super comfortable and the pull out bed was surprisingly comfortable as well. The condo is located in a great area. The salt water pool was amazing! Perfect for a night swim or having the experience of swimming in a tropical place without the fear of being stung by a sea urchin. The condo was clean, nice tv's , clean fridge. We felt at home there."
