  • Oceanfront View and Impeccably Clean

"My husband and I recently stayed at the Hale Kona Kai Unit #202. It was very true to the photos on VRBO and while the building itself is a little bit older, the unit is impeccably clean. It is a small unit but just right for two people and is equipped with everything you might need for your stay. There are plenty of dishes, utensils, and other things in the kitchen. There were also beach chairs, umbrella, mat, noodles and other items for hanging out at the beach. The unit is directly on the waterfront so you can spend lots of time looking out to the ocean and watching it's ever changing show. The unit faces west so the sunsets are particularly spectacular. I'm a very light sleeper, so the sound of the ocean could be loud at times. But, the unit has an air conditioning unit that we found helped with this. The location is extremely conveniently located within walking distance of Kona town but just off the main Alii drive. There is a designated parking spot right under the building which was nice. All in all, we had a wonderful stay here."

  • Very nice ocean view

"We enjoyed our stay here, the description and photos are accurate and the condo is clean and well kept. Great instructions for check in, parking and locating the unit. The pool area is very nice and the bbq's and tables are great if you want to sit poolside at supper time. Kitchen is very well stocked if you like to cook some meals at home and the living area is spacious and comfortable. The lanai is also large and has a great ocean view, we enjoyed sitting outside every morning. The location is great, its a short walk to several resaurants, pubs and shops. Would stay here again."

  • The view is worth it alone!

"We've been gone for just over a week now, and we still keep talking to our friends about how awesome our experience was at this rental. There are 4 condos in total at this complex, but the location of ours was perfect. The view from the lanai, is a spectacular view of the ocean. Every morning my family would spend looking out, watching the whales breaching, and the dolphins jumping. In fact, this is where most of the tours for these take place, and we don't have to pay for them. From the master bedroom, we overlooked the pool. The BBQ area, was just a short walk from our condo in the courtyard. There are 4 BBQ's and they all work really well. Hot and cold running water, plus lighting for at night. I can't tell you how many good conversations we had down here while making supper. Met a lot of great people. The condo itself was equipped with all the cooking utensils we needed and more. It was very clean, and had a great layout. Boogie boards, coolers, beach chairs were all in the unit, and we made great use of them. Nice having a TV in every room. Not that we needed it, we were so tired from a full day of beach time, hiking, or pool day, the tv's hardly got turned on. The condo location is quiet, except for the sounds of the crashing waves at night. If the nightlife is for you, it is a quick drive, or a mild walk to the downtown of Kailua Kona. Have to eat at Huggos On The Rocks. Live music, and a great atmosphere. Also highly recommend Jackie Reys. Great food, and service. If it's a quick meal you are looking for, go to Alii Garden Marketplace, and try TJ's BBQ by the Beach. The communication with Jennifer, the owner, was what truly great customer service is all about. She would always get back to us, when we had any questions, either via e-mail or a quick phone call. Thank you so much for letting us borrow your little piece of paradise. We will be recommending this condo to friends, family, or anyone that will listen. Lol! We hope to be back some day soon! Mahalo Patrick, and Jennifer!!!"

  • Kona Triathlon Weekend

"We stayed at the Kona Makai for the Ironman week and it was perfect. Great location (20min walk into town) and a good size unit to relax in before the race. We would totally recommend this unit. Thanks for the stay."
