  • Great location for the Kona coast.

"First off let me say that Carol is awesome! She was very helpful and accommodating to all of our needs. We stayed here with a 14 and 17 year old. The location is great- on the water so you can hear the surf and watch the surfers and far enough away from the touristy area of Kona. There is a small tidal pool area you can get wet in but you really can't do too much swimming because of the reef. Still- the turtles come right up to the shore and there is plenty to see. If you are an experienced surfer the spot is perfect. For the best snorkeling go down to Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park. I wrote a review of that on Tripadvisor. The condo itself is very nice and renovated. Carol outfits it with an awful lot that is greatly appreciated. If there is any negative its that its not air conditioned but its not needed due to the amazing breeze that goes right through the condo. It was more than comfortable. I highly recommend Carol and her condo! Thank you for everything and we hope to come back some day! Mahalo!"

  • Great value and extras!

"My wife and I haven't been to Hawaii since our honeymoon 18 years ago (and we went to Waikiki). We wanted to explore the big island, stay on or near the beach, but didn't want to break the bank for accommodations since we didn't plan on spending too much time in room(s). Rebecca's condo had everything you could want. It had a very nice view across to the water from the linai, which was perfect for morning coffee and cereal, listening to the waves and watching the surfers. The room itself is very nice, and the bed is outstanding. We have a CalKing at home, and the mattress she has is great. The condo/kitchen itself had everything you could need (we actually only ate out once the entire 9 days we were there), as the kitchen had everything, toaster, coffee pot, newer stove/oven, microwave, etc. The extras that made it even better were the basic condiments in the fridge, beach chairs, boogie boards, sand mats, air conditioning unit, books, dvd player/tv (though we never used that :) ), wireless wifi, shampoo and body soap in the bathroom, etc. She also made sure we had enough towels for 8 days. The extra touches in the kitchen (with condiments), and the beach items, ice cooler and ice packs in the freezer made a huge difference. We didn't have to buy/rent those items, and saved us even more money. She also brought a new toaster on the first day as the old one was reported broken before we arrived. I priced condos in the whole strip and found nothing that had any view at all, 1 min walk to the water in her price range! We will definitely look to stay with Rebecca again if we go back to that side of the island. The place is perfect for a reasonable stay right in the heart of the main area of Kona. Rebecca herself was very responsive with any questions we had, and was a pleasure to work with. The condo grounds are very nice, and you get full access to them. They have a wonderful grassy area right by the tide pools and lounge chairs you can sit on (we put them right on the sand :) ), and watched the waves crashing at sunset. They have great BBQs with gas for use, and the view is outstanding. Highly recommend, M and R, Seattle, WA."

  • Awesome home

"I stayed here in July 2014. The amenities were more than I expected. A full service kitchen, spacious living area, satellite tv ( even though I didn't watch that often, too busy seeing the island) The bed rooms were very comfortable. When I got there I opened the windows and balcony sliding door and never closed them. I kept the screens closed though. Every bedroom has its own bathroom. The breeze that the home got was great. There was total privacy. it was like we were the only people around for miles. The view of the night sky from the roof deck was spectacular, no light pollution to wash out the stars. the home is centrally located to the south side of the island and Kona."

  • Couldn't ask for anything more amazing!

"Almost hesitant to write a great review, once people find out how great this condo is, it may be booked indefinitely and we'd definitely love to return! Firstly, no one can deny the view is the most amazing you can find anywhere on the Big Island. Stunning. In fact, the floor to ceiling sliding doors that go across the living room & into the Master Bedroom are so beautiful & enticing, my boyfriend actually walked INTO the glass doors 5 different times!! We fell asleep every night with the lanai door open and the sound of the crashing waves was mesmerizing. We ate all our meals on the lanai and had to drag ourselves away for sightseeing outside the condo! The bed was extremely comfortable and the updated bathrooms were very nice. The only negatives were the unit only had a single AC unit in the living room and was difficult to cool the 2nd bedroom (streetside)...which remained very hot (even with the ceiling fan & the desktop fan running). All else was perfection. Lisa has thought of every possible 'need' and provided for you. The kitchen is perfect and we made all our meals at 'home' and savored our time with that dreamy view. Watching the surfers and the turtles was bliss. We never used the condo pool, it's a tad on the small side and not as inviting as the ocean. We were a bit discouraged when we arrived and saw the outside, it looks quite dated, but once you walk into the unit, all those concerns melted away. As other posters have noted, there are several unit renovations going on, so obviously a popular place to be, and we never noticed any construction noise or disturbance. We also never used the surf/snorkel shop downstairs, or Da Poke House, but both looked great and super convenient. We'd love to return to Kona Bali Kai, and NEVER LEAVE! :-)"
