"This condo is great as a home base for an active vacation. By foot and rental car, there was more really fun stuff to do than we could handle in seven days. The bed was very comfortable. All the appliances worked. We enjoyed grilling and eating at the pool area. The owner is an old pro at this and easy to work with. It is best for early risers as the city and traffic noise hit about day break."

"This was our fifth trip to the Big Island. We had previously stayed in resorts, hotels, and private properties in populated areas so we were looking for something a little different. This home is located in a smaller hillside community. The house sits in a tropical setting among tropical flora. We found it to be clean and have everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I was however disappointed as to how far the house was from Captain Cook. It may have a Captain Cook address but it is located about 10 minutes south of Hookena Beach Park. The beach that is within the community within a 10 minute walking distance it is a very nice, black pebble, private beach. I personally don't think I could of walked back up the hill in under an hour. The road within the community is very steep and zig-zags back and forth. we opted to drive down where we found was parking for two vehicles. It would be beneficial to have a 4x4 vehicle to navigate this community. Views from the lanai are beautiful. There was no lounge her to enjoy the view but there was a patio table and chairs. There are homes on either side of you here. The one was vacant the other was occupied but very quiet. Overall it is a nice home with a beautiful view in what we found to be a quiet community."

"The house was perfect for our needs. 2 sisters with their husbands and 4 kids, hosted dinners for the remainder of the family who were renting nearby. There are two separate 3 bedroom units on top of each other. There is a very nice layout and a huge deck upstairs for dinner parties and the more private and quieter downstairs worked for the smaller kids to get to bed early. Kitchens were well stocked with dishes and pans. There was even an electric juicer for the massive amount of fresh squeezed lemonade we made for the kids. We ended up using 2 blow up mattresses for siblings who didn't want to share a bed and there was plenty of bedding around. it makes much more sense than hotel rooms and the rest of the family was jealous of the location and nice style of the home. Home was 5 minute walk to White Sands, a great body surfing beach and 2 minutes by car to a quieter protected beach for snorkeling. Home had a nice pool and hot tub, with outdoor dryer for towels and lots of hoses to rinse off the sand. Gated driveway, with lots of parking, with nicely maintained trees and shrubs making the house feel private despite close proximity of the neighbors. Kids were eating papaya and coconuts off the trees. We would definitely rent again."

"From the moment we walked in we were starstruck at it's beauty both inside and out. The welcome basket greatly appreciated especially by our teenagers. The neighbours were far enough away to give us privacy in our Hawaiian oasis but close enough to meet these friendly folks and receive many treats from them ( fresh local honey, fresh vegetables from the community garden and kayak rentals at a great price so that we could have the local spinner dolphins entertain us )... With two families we had plenty of room to be alone or to come together for a meal or a game. The kitchen was a chefs dream and many could work together preparing a meal while others could offer suggestions... The pool was spectacular, the views outstanding and the outdoor shower became the most popular place for everyone to shower by the end of the trip... Thank you Bill and Jennifer for sharing your little slice of heaven with us, we are already speaking of our return. Mahalo :)"
