February 2015 Stay at property 92959
"My family stayed 9 days at this property during our most recent trip to Kailua-Kona. This was far and away the nicest place at which we stayed on multiple visits to the Big Island. The unit is clean, spacious, well-equipped and has such a lovely view. We could watch whales while having morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. We enjoyed the property both inside and outside including the great pool. Not only is the property great but we had several chances to speak with Barbara and her husband who are lovely people. It is conveniently located to access the main tourist attractions of the Big Island and also offers excellent privacy. It is close to several excellent restaurants. There is a gas grill and we used it to grill fresh fish from the fish market. I would definitely come back to this property and would especially recommend it to friends and family."

"This was our first trip to Hawaii and when researching places to stay, my boyfriend came across this listing. We knew instantly that this was where we wanted to stay while on our vacation. We stayed for 8 nights. Once we arrived, (the 2.5 mile drive down the road involves several curves and turns on a narrow 1 1/2 lane road) we were blown away at how spectacular the house was! It was very clean and cozy, and when we entered, we felt very much "at home". Naomi and Paul are very friendly, courteous, helpful people and made sure we were settled in before they left. The view is amazing and often we simply sat outside, admiring our surroundings. A must stay if you are visiting this beautiful place."

"We really appreciated the accommodations at Kona Onelando. I'm sure I spelled that wrong. The house/condo is inside a small gated complex right on the main drive that runs through Kona, oceanside. The complex is four miles south of Kona, and you have no need to be any closer.
There are 12 units in the complex, each free-standing and each practically identical. Every guest we met at the complex was friendly and fun, because we all knew we had scored one of the best places on the island. The view from the master bedroom through the sliding glass door and the balcony was a trip highlight. The kids loved the pool and I got some time in the hot tub. Everything works: the kitchen appliances the washer/dryer, the bathrooms. We did have a bit of slow pressure from the second head in the double-headed master shower, but we'll take first-world problems like that on an island.
You're a short walk to the best body surfing beach I've ever been to: pretty, with waves just strong enough to be exciting but not too strong for me and the boys. Just one mile the other way, we went to a beach to snorkel and have surfing lessons. The owners also provided us with a guide to things to do and we used it. We particularly appreciated the tip to go to Hapuna Beach, which is as pretty and fun as they said it would be. I use vacation rentals, I own two vacation rentals, and I suggest you stay here."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The estate was very quiet and so relaxing. We spent a lot of time in our room decompressing from all of our sightseeing. The lanai was serene and the view was incredibly scenic.
Carol, our host, was very friendly and accommodating. She took us on a tour of the property and shared so much information with us about the estate and the coffee growing/making process.
During our stay we enjoyed refreshed towels (beach and fluffy shower towels), household items (dishes, coffee maker, refrigerator, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion), and fun activity items (snorkeling gear and beach chairs).
The room itself was fantastic! Very clean and comfortable. We slept very well at the estate. The sunset from the comfort of the room and lanai was superb. We also enjoyed the shower. It was a walk in with rock floor tile and decorative art tiles.
Carol's coffee is FANTASTIC and she provided us with a complimentary bag. She had plenty of fresh fruit trees available for picking.
The estate is close to a grocery store, several yummy eateries, and the clearest snorkeling we've every experienced!
We cannot wait to book our return trip!!"
