  • Little piece of heaven

"Had such a peaceful time saying at this little gem. Owner Charles and his little dog Scooby has to be the perfect host. My husband and I have already decided to come back soon. We already miss this little cottage and most of all Scooby."

  • Location Location Location

"Staying at the Dolphin Retreat was truly a special time in paradise. The lovely sunsets and calming sounds of splashing waves were an added treat. Being located right on Kealakekua Bay, with complimentary kayaks, allowed daily opportunities to swim with the dolphins and snorkel at Captain Cook's Monument. The spacious house with its large, grassy backyard facing the bay was perfect. The Dolphin Retreat was everything we had hoped for in Hawaii and more. The only negative part of our vacation was having to leave! We will definitely be back and already miss this wonderful vacation home."

  • Paradise

"If I dream of living in HI, I dream of this house. A house of my own in HI is not in the cards, but I got to live in this one for a few heavenly days, and I'm grateful. I hope to return. Any place else now would be a compromise. It's a bit of a drive from town, but you can't have paradise around the corner from Walmart. Thanks to the owners for making this available!"

  • Our own private resort

"We wanted to let you know that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 'Okika Lani. What a beautiful house and location. A real gem! We had a wonderful stay and are so glad we chose it...the pictures don't do it justice. It's location is not only beautiful but feels private making it quiet and relaxing. The home is well cared for with it's comfy furniture and beds and the wonderful artwork. Between the beautiful landscaping, abundant wildlife and views of Kealakekua Bay, we felt as if we were in our own private resort. We loved dipping into the pool, snorkeling in the Bay and at Two Step. We actually got to swim with dolphins several times. The only bad thing about 'Okika Lani is having to leave! We definitely hope to return for another stay!"

Kealakekua Bay Travel Tips

Step into History's Footprints With Kealakekua Bay Vacation Rentals

When you stay at Kealakekua Bay vacation rentals, you are experiencing the same place Captain Cook discovered in 1779. The bay was the point where Captain Cook entered the sheltered water of the Big Island. At the foot of the Pathway of the Gods, you can follow the rugged trail to the monument dedicated to Captain Cook. Depending on your vacation rental's location, you might see views of the cliff and the monument from the comfort of your living room.

Visit Coffee Country Near Kealakekua Bay Resort Rentals

Some of the attractions near Kealakekua Bay resort rentals are Hawaiian coffee farms, where locals grow and process the beans. Some farms like the Greenwell Farms have been making gourmet coffee since the second half of the 1800s. Plan a tour early in your stay and then enjoy a fresh pot each morning as you watch the sun rise over the Pacific Ocean. The drink goes well with fresh tropical fruit, and you can find a variety of local ones at a nearby farmer's market. Your fully equipped kitchen will make it easy to prepare breakfast or snacks for later in the day.

Pick Kona Coast Condos for Home-Like Amenities

Kona Coast condos offer you many of the comforts of your home, including a living room where you can watch TV or play games, multiple bedrooms so you can have some privacy, and a place to prepare meals. If you feel like dining out, you'll have your choice of restaurants. Purchase organic veggies or food from one of the local health stores—having a fridge will keep your products fresh and ready to use. From the privacy of your lanai, balcony, or yard you can watch the sun set and spend an evening enjoying the stars.
