  • Nature Lover

"This is a wonderful property with a billion dollar view. The studio is perched up in a fabulous lush garden. It offers solitude and peace and a very comfortable bed! Loved it."

  • Wonderful vacation destination

"We had a great week at the Cottage. We found it perfect for the two of us, and enjoyed Mike and Vika's gracious hospitality. WIFI was much appreciated! Location is scenic and quiet, but close to many attractions and restaurants. A small microwave would be a nice addition to the kitchen. We hope to return again in the future!"

  • A great place to stay!

"We have really enjoyed the place. The layout is great, with each bedroom a separate building with its verandah sitting area, and open-air kitchen with no walls lend a feeling of old Hawaii and being close to nature. Large fridge was a plus. Each bathroom only has a shower, that's the only small downside. I would recommend this place to my friends."

  • Great value and great location

"We stayed at this property for 7 Days and would have gladly stayed for longer. Carol, the Owner was an excellent communicator and displayed a genuine interest in ensuring her guests had a good stay. Evonne and Ernie the caretakers were friendly and helpful and at the same time created an atmosphere where they did not intrude on our privacy. The larger unit was clean and spacious for the two of us and we did not need to use the air conditioner as airflow was very good. Our bed was comfortable and there was plenty of storage space for our clothes etc. Internet was wireless and hassle free and I loved the small tv (which remained off) ...if you have nothing better to do than watch tv at this great spot you need your head read! Shower and bathroom facilities were clean and the second outside shower with hot water was awesome and private after walking back from a swim in the bay. Tha kitchen was functional with plenty of cooking equipment and a large gas oven. There was food, sauces, spices etc that had been left by previous guests that were appreciated. There were two BBQs in the back yard and an outside eating area as well as a very private undercover outside eating area. The neighbourhood was quiet and the local people were friendly and happy to help with advice re places to see and things to do. Keep an eye out for the two very friendly next door dogs who are worth stopping for! There are mongoose (or is that mongeese) in the back yard that are fascinating to watch and plenty of birds visit the yard too. We came mainly to snorkel and enjoy the bay and Carols house provided the perfect affordable base. The snorkelling in Kealakekua Bay is excellent and Spinner dolphins visited the bay most days. On our last day a whale and calf entered the bay in the morning too. If you visit please try and hire kayaks from local people if you can. Ernie and Evonne can provide advice re local attractions as we'll. We can recommend this place to anyone wishing to experience this beautiful bay and we hope to return for more!"
