"This condo has the immediate effect of calm. The floor to ceiling, wall to wall windows across the living room and master bedroom give you a wide view of the ocean and coast, the lovely swimming pool and the golf course. The décor is pleasant, light and comfortable and ceiling fans in every room (even out on the wide lanai) keep the air moving gently. We only missed not having A/C on the last day when the temps got into the 90's. Otherwise, it was comfortable. Wish we'd found the light switch for the outside lanai lights earlier - it was the best place for dinner. The roll-down shades on the lanai are also helpful for managing the inside temp and afternoon sun. Grateful for the beach chairs, mats and towels and very clean kitchen! We recommend Ke'ei Café up in Hokukano for the most delicious and delightful dinner (it's only 15 min. drive south and inland from the condo). Great fish, mango cobbler and sunset view - we went twice! We enjoyed snorkeling at Waialea (69) Beach and Two-step (near Place of Refuge) and the hike down to Pololu Valley. Overall, a wonderful week!!"

"We followed Susan A. this July. Her review and the others are spot on and I simply reconfirm everything they so eloquently stated.
We took our 15 year old grandson with for a long overdue special trip. This was our second trip to the Big Island in addition to three trips to Kauai. The Big Island is definitely better suited for a teenager. Being so close to an excellent snorkeling beach was a plus. The ocean was too flat for surfing for my snowboarder grandson, but he made up for it taking underwater pictures of sea life. He even got to see sunsets with the big green flash.
My wife who used to be a rental and maintenance manager for over 1100 units that included college kids, young and older adults spanning 4 towns made a very telling statement the second day. As we were sitting on the Lanai enjoying a cup of coffee, she asked me, "Can you believe they let strangers stay here?" She went on about the furnishings, art work, stocked kitchen etc. I said that's why we are leaving it better stocked than when we arrived. She still can't believe that I found this gem.
At first I had thought about staying in the Waikoloa area, since that’s where we stayed the first time in conjunction with a conference. That location and options just didn't fit in with grandson, so I started searching and bingo.
If you are searching and find this lovely condo, check the calendar and book it! Grandson was the first to spot a mongoose. The wildlife is great with the colorful birds visiting the Lanai and the bright green geckos on the tree next to the front door. The must read notebook that John provides has valuable info. Even though he requests that the "Local full time personal Concierge" not call, you'll probably get one. He was easy to put off. That title threw me off a bit as I own a t/s in Sint Maarten I bought in the late 80's and they didn't and still don't use that term to lure people in. There's another booth with friendly folks offering money saving offers near the fine grocery store, KTA, up the hill.
To be honest, July can be hot at this location. We endured the humidity that Susan mentioned for a few days, then the tropical storm moved on and it became bearable. Our earlier trips were in February or October and the heat surprised us a bit. Yes, we left before the double storm threat hit the Hilo side. We tracked it from NH and it was sad seeing the pics of places we had visited.
The rental process was the easiest one I've ever encountered.
Thanks John and Becky"

"Wonderful place to stay. We enjoyed the month of January. Great view of the ocean, especially the whales and the sunset. We love the big island. Much to do and see. Hope to be back again next year. Ground floor is the best."
