  • “Better than advertised - Talk about a VIEW!”

"We followed Susan A. this July. Her review and the others are spot on and I simply reconfirm everything they so eloquently stated.
We took our 15 year old grandson with for a long overdue special trip. This was our second trip to the Big Island in addition to three trips to Kauai. The Big Island is definitely better suited for a teenager. Being so close to an excellent snorkeling beach was a plus. The ocean was too flat for surfing for my snowboarder grandson, but he made up for it taking underwater pictures of sea life. He even got to see sunsets with the big green flash.
My wife who used to be a rental and maintenance manager for over 1100 units that included college kids, young and older adults spanning 4 towns made a very telling statement the second day. As we were sitting on the Lanai enjoying a cup of coffee, she asked me, "Can you believe they let strangers stay here?" She went on about the furnishings, art work, stocked kitchen etc. I said that's why we are leaving it better stocked than when we arrived. She still can't believe that I found this gem. At first I had thought about staying in the Waikoloa area, since that’s where we stayed the first time in conjunction with a conference. That location and options just didn't fit in with grandson, so I started searching and bingo.
If you are searching and find this lovely condo, check the calendar and book it!
Grandson was the first to spot a mongoose. The wildlife is great with the colorful birds visiting the Lanai and the bright green geckos on the tree next to the front door.
The must read notebook that John provides has valuable info. Even though he requests that the "Local full time personal Concierge" not call, you'll probably get one. He was easy to put off. That title threw me off a bit as I own a t/s in Sint Maarten I bought in the late 80's and they didn't and still don't use that term to lure people in. There's another booth with friendly folks offering money saving offers near the fine grocery store, KTA, up the hill. To be honest, July can be hot at this location. We endured the humidity that Susan mentioned for a few days, then the tropical storm moved on and it became bearable. Our earlier trips were in February or October and the heat surprised us a bit. Yes, we left before the double storm threat hit the Hilo side. We tracked it from NH and it was sad seeing the pics of places we had visited. The rental process was the easiest one I've ever encountered. Thanks John and Becky"

  • A Great Place to Exhale!

"We travel extensively and I have to say that this is the MOST relaxing spot we have ever stayed in. The lanai is not large but we thouroughly enjoyed it each and every day of our stay. For us, this was the townhome's best feature. Although there is a nice dining area inside, we didn't use it once - not even for a coffee. Why would you when you have the option of the lanai table with its spectacular view and the ocean breezes augmented by an overhead fan? The completely private view of the crashing waves was simply good for the soul. All of the oceanfront townhomes have similar lanais but we noticed that ours had the best location for view and privacy - and the orientation was perfect for shade, light, breeze and sunsets. I'm a "clean freak" and it's not unusual for me to sanitize bathrooms, kitchens etc. before unpacking. Not this tme; every inch of the place is well maintained, organized and immaculate. Jeri, who is the owner's "eyes and hands on the ground" is a treasure - she keeps the place in top notch condition and - on top of doing her job very well - is a pleasure to deal with. She was there to welcome us and took time to check in on us during our stay - without being intrusive. She even generously brought us samples of her wonderful home-grown coffee and fruits! The owner, Sandy was always easy to contact and very responsive to any of our questions or requests. As others have mentioned, the complex is gated, well maintained and attractive. An extra bonus was that the only noise we ever heard was the crashing of the ocean waves; what a wonderful way to go to sleep. The water right outside the lanai is crystal clear, blue and visibly filled with brightly colored schools of fish and tons of big turtles. We never got tired of looking for them! We had the condo for two wonderful weeks and we fully intend on going back."

"Excellent property & location. I could not get internet reception; computer said there was a signal, but I could not log on. There were way too many keys and too many locks, but when I found 1 key that fit 1 lock on each door, I just used those two keys on their respective locks and things worked fine. The view from the second floor deck was excellent. The resort was excellent and as described. The unit was clean and well equipped. The best restaurant we found was the Outback on Alii drive. Good beach within walking distance to the North and a nice little small boat harbor about a half mile south. A rental car is needed to get around the island and see everything. Things went well enough that no communications were even necessary, with the owners. YES, I would recommend this property to a friend."

  • FANTASTIC PLACE!

"A beautiful condo in a great location. I took my family of four, two adults and two teenagers. When we walked into the condo, the kids were thrilled with the rooms. They are huge! Each kid had a bedroom with their own bathroom, and my wife and I shared an amazing master bedroom. The views from the upper lanai, and the porch downstairs were fantastic. The condo is centrally located between two snorkeling bays, both within walking distance, and a grocery store...which is a huge benefit for families. The pool is very nice, with a great sitting area for outdoor dinners. Twice I walked up the street to L & L Barbeque and brought back dinner to the pool. It was a great way to end the evening. Back to the condo itself, the kitchen has everything you would ever need...coffee maker, giant fridge, modern appliances, corkscrew, dishwasher, and more...and all of the appliances are high end. You will even find beach chairs and snorkeling gear in the garage! In all, I can't wait to go back."
