  • Kona, Hawaii get away

"We had an excellent time there. The townhouse was clean and stocked with all we needed. Eric was very accommodating when when needed a late check out and then when our daughter needed an extra day. Close to everything you could want including wonderful snorkeling and a spot to watch incredible sunsets! The pool, tennis courts and gas grills were all well maintained!"

  • Excellent value and location

"My girlfriend and I stayed here in 2 blocks of time (4 nights, 5 nights) during our 2 weeks on the island and very much enjoyed this condo and the Kanaloa experience. I have stayed at Kanaloa (in various larger units) many times since the early 1980s and love this location away from the more touristy Kailua area, but conveniently close to the Keauhou shopping center (excellent farmer's market) and south Kona restaurants and attractions. The Kanaloa grounds are lovely and well-maintained and the ocean pool is a must-do at sunset — it's different every night. We also enjoyed relaxing night swims in the adult pool and always had the pool to ourselves. There is a real mix of guests at Kanaloa and we enjoyed meeting people from all over the world. It never seemed that Kanaloa is full of residents so pools were never crowded. We never saw anyone use the tennis courts, but they are nice. Fewer guests also meant it was quieter. The condo is furnished with all the basic needs and well within my standards of cleanliness and appearance. (I never stay in high-end resorts.) It looks like the property photos have been updated and they do accurately show what's in the unit. Communicating with co-owner Liam was easy and responses were quick. We appreciated his flexibility to accommodate some of our needs (checking in and out twice). We did without air conditioning, which was uncomfortable on a few hot windless nights, but the fans helped and we needed to save money. Other plusses here: the balcony view of He'eia and Keauhou bays, the morning sunrise mauka view from the sofa area, ample closet space, nice refrigerator with ice maker, a nice master bath shower, sheltered carport and snorkeling in He'eia Bay. I definitely would stay here again and look forward to do so. Thanks!"

  • Another perfect stay :)

"Fantastic townhome, very well stocked. The most amazing part is how close to the water you are and how much the breeze floats through the home, it's awesome view from the master bedroom is the best to fall asleep to and then awake to. Once again a fabulous stay close to everything we required for our vacation. Worth the trip from the West coast of Australia. We look forward to returning with our little one in the future."

  • Beautiful condo

"This was my third one-month stay in this nice, upscale condo with 2 levels, 3 bedrooms, and 2 1/2 baths. It has beautiful views of ocean, palm trees, flowering shrubs, a spacious lanai on ground level and a private balcony lanai on the second level with even better views. The condo is fully equipped with all basics. The owners are very easy to contact and very accommodating. During my most-recent stay they did a number of small updates, including a new comforter/bed set for the master bedroom, a few new kitchen utensils, a new serving tray, and all new pillows throughout all three bedrooms. Insect control is done on a regular basis every quarter, as required in all tropical areas. No insects were noted anywhere during the one-month stay. There are 2 portable beds/play pens for children to use for sleeping/playing and a high-chair for infants. The Keauhou shopping center is close enough to walk to, where there are theatres and an excellent and popular farmers' market on Saturday mornings. It's an interesting 6-mile drive into downtown Kailua, with a number of places to stop along the ocean on the way. This is a gated community with an upscale swimming pool/deck area that is very attractive and popular with tenants. It is very quiet at night in this condo complex. I look forward to returning next season."
