"This was our first trip to Hawaii and when researching places to stay, my boyfriend came across this listing. We knew instantly that this was where we wanted to stay while on our vacation. We stayed for 8 nights. Once we arrived, (the 2.5 mile drive down the road involves several curves and turns on a narrow 1 1/2 lane road) we were blown away at how spectacular the house was! It was very clean and cozy, and when we entered, we felt very much "at home". Naomi and Paul are very friendly, courteous, helpful people and made sure we were settled in before they left. The view is amazing and often we simply sat outside, admiring our surroundings. A must stay if you are visiting this beautiful place."

Perfect place for a relaxation vacation!!! The pictures don't do the home justice
"The Cove is truly a piece of paradise! It's away from the hustle and bustle of the city and touristy areas. The 'open air' home (which means their are screens around the house near the roof) really did allow us to enjoy the sounds of the surf and the fresh breeze. The cove itself provided great 'exploring' for our teenagers - it can be a little tough to climb down there so make sure to take care.
Craig and Melanie really make sure that their home is ready for just about anything. There were a few things that we didn't think of to get in Kona - but just about anything you can think of it already at the house. They are also quick to help with any issues that may arrive.
If you are looking for the perfect place to relax and get away from it all, this is the place. We were a group of 2 adults and 3 teenagers. Everyone had their own space and we also enjoyed having game nights with the board games in the house. Although you don't really need to leave the house to enjoy your time, there are some great places nearby...
We took a day trip to the Volcano and got to see a clear view of the steaming crater from the Volcano House restaurant at lunch. At night, you can see the red glow of the Volcano from the Jagger Museum. We also visited the nearby black sand beach and got to see a sea turtle sunning itself. Just north of the house there is another great beach (I forget the name, but I did put it in the guest book) that had several turtles that were swimming around the kids while they were snorkeling. Just remember that the turtles are protected so don't bother them or touch them purposely.
It is a steep and windy road to the house from the highway, so make sure to take it slow and watch for other drivers. The infinity pool and spa was amazing and the views from the lanai are so surreal. We couldn't take enough pictures!
Thank you Craig and Melanie for providing such an amazing home for our vacation!"

"If you like quiet and peaceful...this is for you! Great views of the ocean and very comfortable setting. The hammock and watching the birds at the bird feeder were my favorites! Our teens (4) loved the pool table...didn't use the pool as we were out doing the touristy thing most of the day. It was nice coming back to comfortable beds after long days of sightseeing. The owners have provided most everything you could ask for...washer, dryer, beach towels, even a wine refrigerator!! Mahalo Nancy for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. It was a pleasure talking with you as well as Carol. She was a gem!"

"This house and location are amazing. We watched a whale from the front deck as we at breakfast. Get place to stay if traveling the south part of the island. There is a porta potty right in front of the house as mentioned in another review but you can take a 145 ft walk to watch and photo the sunsets so not a big deal. Nice Jacuzzi Tub in lower level bedroom. I will definitely come back if on the island again. We had our 2 and 5 year olds with us and this place worked perfectly. Pick up water and groceries and get a way from it all."
