Perfect place for a relaxation vacation!!! The pictures don't do the home justice
"The Cove is truly a piece of paradise! It's away from the hustle and bustle of the city and touristy areas. The 'open air' home (which means their are screens around the house near the roof) really did allow us to enjoy the sounds of the surf and the fresh breeze. The cove itself provided great 'exploring' for our teenagers - it can be a little tough to climb down there so make sure to take care.
Craig and Melanie really make sure that their home is ready for just about anything. There were a few things that we didn't think of to get in Kona - but just about anything you can think of it already at the house. They are also quick to help with any issues that may arrive.
If you are looking for the perfect place to relax and get away from it all, this is the place. We were a group of 2 adults and 3 teenagers. Everyone had their own space and we also enjoyed having game nights with the board games in the house. Although you don't really need to leave the house to enjoy your time, there are some great places nearby...
We took a day trip to the Volcano and got to see a clear view of the steaming crater from the Volcano House restaurant at lunch. At night, you can see the red glow of the Volcano from the Jagger Museum. We also visited the nearby black sand beach and got to see a sea turtle sunning itself. Just north of the house there is another great beach (I forget the name, but I did put it in the guest book) that had several turtles that were swimming around the kids while they were snorkeling. Just remember that the turtles are protected so don't bother them or touch them purposely.
It is a steep and windy road to the house from the highway, so make sure to take it slow and watch for other drivers. The infinity pool and spa was amazing and the views from the lanai are so surreal. We couldn't take enough pictures!
Thank you Craig and Melanie for providing such an amazing home for our vacation!"

"This house and location are amazing. We watched a whale from the front deck as we at breakfast. Get place to stay if traveling the south part of the island. There is a porta potty right in front of the house as mentioned in another review but you can take a 145 ft walk to watch and photo the sunsets so not a big deal. Nice Jacuzzi Tub in lower level bedroom. I will definitely come back if on the island again. We had our 2 and 5 year olds with us and this place worked perfectly. Pick up water and groceries and get a way from it all."

Wonderful end to our beautiful honeymoon in Hawaii!
"This was a wonderful end to our honeymoon adventure on the Big Island. Cheryl was very communicative leading up to our trip. We ended up having to rearrange our travel dates and Cheryl did everything she could to help us have a full, pleasant stay. The home itself is large, especially for two people, so we definitely didn't take enough advantage of all the toys and amenities this place has to offer. We really enjoyed the beautiful king bed, the wonderful ocean breeze, the incredible deck, kitchen that was well-stocked with everything needed to cook, and some of the special little private nooks nearby where we could get in some great swims in the ocean. We loved watching the sunsets from the expansive deck and Cheryl really thought of everything one might need to make themselves feel right at home. Thank you for making such a memorable end to our trip!"

"We have enjoyed the peace and solitude of this getaway many times. The 30 minute+ drive to town keeps it isolated from the typical tourist scene. Many improvements since our last visit. Always enjoy the nearness of the ocean and it's inhabitants!"
