"This is an exceptional house. There's a gorgeous and interesting view that's all about the water and wild coastline, not other people's houses. The access to the water is the best in this area--you can be out snorkeling among scads of fish in about 60 seconds of walking. We loved the old Hawaii design with the wide-open, breezy interior, exactly as pictured. Sports equipment is great and kitchen equipment is ample. The owner is very helpful and responsive.
The house is really one very, very big room, so it's just perfect for a romantic couple or close family, possibly not so ideal for sharing with another couple unless you're on pretty intimate terms. And this is a place for people who love being at the end of the world and are content just hanging out locally, because the drive to the more famous areas of the island is not one you'll want to do every day. For us it was hard to beat."

Perfect place for a relaxation vacation!!! The pictures don't do the home justice
"The Cove is truly a piece of paradise! It's away from the hustle and bustle of the city and touristy areas. The 'open air' home (which means their are screens around the house near the roof) really did allow us to enjoy the sounds of the surf and the fresh breeze. The cove itself provided great 'exploring' for our teenagers - it can be a little tough to climb down there so make sure to take care.
Craig and Melanie really make sure that their home is ready for just about anything. There were a few things that we didn't think of to get in Kona - but just about anything you can think of it already at the house. They are also quick to help with any issues that may arrive.
If you are looking for the perfect place to relax and get away from it all, this is the place. We were a group of 2 adults and 3 teenagers. Everyone had their own space and we also enjoyed having game nights with the board games in the house. Although you don't really need to leave the house to enjoy your time, there are some great places nearby...
We took a day trip to the Volcano and got to see a clear view of the steaming crater from the Volcano House restaurant at lunch. At night, you can see the red glow of the Volcano from the Jagger Museum. We also visited the nearby black sand beach and got to see a sea turtle sunning itself. Just north of the house there is another great beach (I forget the name, but I did put it in the guest book) that had several turtles that were swimming around the kids while they were snorkeling. Just remember that the turtles are protected so don't bother them or touch them purposely.
It is a steep and windy road to the house from the highway, so make sure to take it slow and watch for other drivers. The infinity pool and spa was amazing and the views from the lanai are so surreal. We couldn't take enough pictures!
Thank you Craig and Melanie for providing such an amazing home for our vacation!"

"If you want a getaway in an amazing scenery and have all the comfort you are used to at home, this house is definitely your pick! We arrived and immediately regretted we only booked 3 nights, we could easily have enjoyed ourselves there for much longer. The house itself has everything you need and much more - the game room is awesome, there are kayaks, there are many DVD's for great movie nights... And I could go on... What struck me most is the love Cheryl has put in this house; all the lovely details make you teel at home straight away.
It's a great hub as well for nice day trips - we went to the Volcano park (1,5 hours from the house) and had a very adventurous hike to a beautiful deserted beach with our 3 little ones.
Cheryl, thanks again for opening your house for us!"

"My wife & I spent 4 nights and used home as a base camp. Home is very nice and has good view. It is in a remote area south of Captain Cook community. We traveled to other areas each day. Found local stores for food nearby. Rental car is a must, owner was quickly available when needed. A bit of challenge to find home 1st time, mobile phone mapping service worked great. Mobile phone signal strength OK but limited # of bars at times, WIFI worked great. Must drive to beaches, walking from home is not an option."
