  • We will be back!!!

"Thank you Max & Linda for letting us borrow your beautiful home for a week!! It is soooooooo peaceful there and loved every minute there. It had everything we needed for an "Awsome" vacation! Didn't get to use the kayaks, maybe next time. Your lot is in a perfect location (we're jealous :-) that provides that great view from the up stairs deck, and a nice private pool area in the back! That upstairs deck was the perfect place for our breakfasts, dinners and just kickin back time. We had beautiful sunsets every day that we were there! We even got to see that Blood Moon Eclipse one evening, that was really cool! (I am kinda an astronomy nut too :-) Sky viewing there was great, haven't been in an area that dark for years!!) Your directions to the house were perfect and thank you also for the maps with all the highlighted places on it ,I think we went to all of them! :-) Milolii was just what we were hoping for. It's away from the hustle n bustle of city life and very relaxing. We live about 10 miles from the Las Vegas strip so we loved it here. The new Saddle Road is awsome it saved us so much time on a road trip one day we did in about 8 hours! (Naalehu,Punaluu,South Point,Volcano,Hilo,Kamuela,Kohala and ended up at Hapuna Beach-Awsome day!! Only skipped the Hamakua Coast area) We did go back to Volcano on another day tho, very cool there. Your home I think is in pretty nice starting place to explore the Big Island well for us it was. Made it to Hilo in a couple of hours to visit friends and family ,and thats just cruzin all the way. We made it to Honomolino Beach also and it took us about 30 minutes from the start of the trail (we're 60 so it took us longer LOL) it's Awsome there and we had it all to ourselves for about 3 hours!!! I told Debbie I was ready to run around naked!1 LOL!! Beautiful beach and water there! The people we talked to in the Milolii Village are very nice too! You just have to start talking to them. Well thanks again Linda & Max our vacation was great!! We're coming up again in June but saw your place was rented out already :-( Kinda was a last minute decision anyway. Take Care -n- Aloooooooooha!"

  • Nice comfortable cottage!

"We stayed at the pineapple on the 2nd week off our 3 weeks holiday on the big island. The cottage itself is suitable for a couple. We had our 12 year old and she took up the futon in the living room which took most of the space. It is well kept, fairly new, clean. It was nice to sit out with our coffee in the morning and admire the view. The owners were very prompt with communications and there was a lot of supplementary information about things to do and see. We would definitely recommend this place. Something to keep in mind, if you intend on doing water sports in kona or North of it, it is a fair drive, about 1 hour from Kalua/Kona."

  • Loved it

"We loved the house! Plenty of space to sit and relax (although we were usually out and about) and the extra goodies (kayaks, snorkeling gear, boogie boards) were so great to have. Don't worry about bringing snorkel gear as there are about ten full sets. As previous reviews suggested, the house is a bit out of the way (roughly an hour south of Kona and fifteen minutes down a winding road of switchbacks). This was not too big a deal for us since it's the Big Island and we knew we would be doing a lot of driving. There are four beds in the house and a few additional sleeping spaces (a futon, air mattress, and sofa bed). We had 8 adults, and not all were couples, so it was a tad constricting. One was in the futon and another in the air mattress. Not too bad for the week we were there, but any additional time might have seemed cramped. Cheryl is great at communication leading up to the trip. I had several questions and she usually responded within minutes. Daniel, who watches over the house since Cheryl doesn't live in the area, is a treasure trove of information. He is very fun and loves to help with any planning. Overall, I highly recommend the house. Just make sure it is the right fit for your size group and what you're wanting to do."

  • We'll be back!

"The Jewel is appropriately named. We feel safe giving a great review because we already have our reservations in for next year. How can you improve on that for a recommendation? Jamie and Bill have created a beautiful and cozy home away from home. We appreciated (and wanted) the quiet and mellow place that is Miloli'i. Getting acquainted with Jamie and Bill was a bonus--very friendly, helpful, and fun to be around. There was plenty of fun available on the southern part of the island but spending quiet time sitting on the lanai and watching for whales was priceless."
