  • Fantastic property

"Three of us stayed on the lower floor and had a wonderful time. I really can't think of anything that would have improved our stay. There is a well-equipped kitchen that we loved and the little touches were great too (like fluffy towels - you seem to never get those in a hotel). We particularly liked the little cove below the house for snorkelling. The beach in Honomalino was great too. We also appreciated the contrast between this house and the 'resort' we stayed at the following week in Honolulu. This beach house was a little bit of paradise. The place in Waikiki was a bit like the strip in Vegas. We will be visiting again. I cannot recommend this property highly enough. Thanks for a great holiday."

  • Beautiful Place!

"This beautiful 2 bedroom home is located about 1/2 way between Kailua Kona and Hilo which allows you to be in a central location from which to explore the Big Island. Now that the price of fuel has dropped to $2.99 per gallon (Dec 2014 at CostCo) exploring this beautiful island is much less expensive. The view from the large lanai is unbelievable at 180 degrees and at about a 600 foot elevation one can see 20 miles up and down the coast. The neighborhood is quiet and there is usually a refreshing breeze which keeps everything cool. They have a great internet connection and satellite TV and it was nice to be able to use the garage in the basement. The quality of construction of this home is unsurpassed and it was a pleasure to enjoy the home for the entire month. Paul and Naomi are excellent hosts, very pleasant people and willing to help in any way they can yet not intrusive. We attended The Painted Church (Saint Benedict's) during the month and were warmly welcomed each Sunday and were invited to a potluck meal on Christmas Day! What sweet and gracious people! We hope to return soon. Thank you Paul and Naomi for making such a beautiful home available in such a wonderful place. Vic and Linda"

  • Quiet, peaceful, beautiful and convenient

"We stayed in the Aloha Beach house the first week of January, what a great start to the new year. It was nice to be off the beaten track but did end up doing a lot of driving (although the road in and out of the house isn't nearly as bad as other reviews make it sound, its nicely paved and you get to enjoy the view on the way down). The kitchen is well equipped and we used the bbq almost every night. The living room could be improved with better lighting (for reading in the evening) and more comfortable seating. Fruity Judy's up the road is a must; delicious avocados and papayas! We also went on a kayak/snorkel trip to Captain Cook memorial with Aloha Kayak Co. which was very fun. We enjoyed hiking to the near by Honomolino bch Also it was a short drive to the Black sand beach to snorkel with the sea turtles. The other beach we liked alot was 2 step near the City of Refuge to snorkel. We ate almost all our meals at the house, but we did try out Super J's and had yummy pork lau lau lunches. Overall it was a really great place to stay and everyone had a good time :) Mahalo!"

  • A 5 Star Experience in all regards....

"What a great place to stay while house hunting. I'm no stranger to living off the grid so this was right up my alley. And not having a tv blaring was a blessing in itself! Jamie and Bill were so nice and went above and beyond anything you'll ever find in those 'corporation' owned hotels. They spent a lot of time and effort into developing 'the jewel' and their other rental to reflect their own personalities. Both are incredibly talented artists and their work is displayed in both houses. I can't say enough about how much it means to me to know there are people out there that are actually doing something that they love and are not doing it just to make money. Both Bill and Jamie are proof of this and they really are a reflection of the Aloha spirit to the highest degree."
