"We just finished our second stay the Kona Rainforest Coffee Farm guest house and it really is a slice of heaven. Nestled on a steep slope over a half mile up the mountain (need a 4WD vehicle to get there), it is secluded and offers a beautiful view. The guest house has all the amenities that we needed (gas grill, wireless internet, stove, fridge, cooking utensils), and all that you need to make a great cup of coffee. Great beaches and snorkeling are a short drive away and one can get to Kona in 45-60 minutes or to Hawaii Volcanoes park in about 75 minutes. Secluded enough to avoid the touristy areas around Kona, but close enough to do all the great things that the Bis Island has to offer. Great for people who like a place with a great view to cook themselves some great meals. Also, there are two very sweet dogs there who love a visit, if you allow them. Robert and Dawn are warm, gracious hosts and really interesting to talk with. Can't wait until our next visit."

  • The pictures do not do it justice

"This condo is in an excellent location. Close to the best snorkeling beach, Kahaluu, and grocery store is one mile away. Kahaluu is rated the number 1 snorkel beach in the world by Islands. com. Kahaluu Beach has an abundant amount of fish, very nice coral and resident turtles, and on the other side of the beach you can learn to surf or paddleboard. The view from the lanai is stunning--looking out over the ocean and during sunsets. It is right across from the barbeque area, which is really convenient. It is nice to be on the ground floor and have grass right from the lanai. This is a quiet area and the condo was nicely decorated Hawaiian style. Very clean and the queen master bed was comfortable. Lots of amenities--body boards, 4 lawn chairs, coolers, sunhats, and flippers sized for a man. The kitchen is fully equipped and has lots of spices. The owners were very friendly, even sending typed suggestions for places to go and restaurants. If you are worried about the lack of comments, don't be. They owners have had this place since the 90's. There is a hand written guest book from hundreds of previous guests and they all gush about how amazing the condo and location are. This condo looks much better in real life than the pictures. The pool and tennis courts are very beautifully maintained as are the grounds. The condo even has lots of fiction books and books on what to do in Hawaii--including the "blue book". My only problem was having to leave this condo as it really felt like home."

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything was as described. We enjoyed property. We did wish pool was heated or had solar heating - as it never heating up much. And, the pool vacuum didn't move around much to clean bottom."

  • Kona oasis

"This condo has an excellent location with stunning views of the ocean and sunsets. The condo was VERY well-stocked with most everything we needed including beach and snorkeling equipment. We had many enjoyable meals on the lanai watching surfers or cruise ship activity. We did have two nice dinners out--Mi's Italian Bistro was great--the best tiramisu I ever had! We also had our last dinner at Ray's by the Bay at the Sheraton where we watched from our rail side fire pit table as the tour boats offered night swims with the manta rays--romantic setting. We did many day trips from our "home base"--we even went to Hilo for the Saturday Market taking the new Daniel Inouye Highway which trims the trip to a slick 90 minutes! The only down side to our stay was that the condo hadn't been cleaned prior to our arrival due to a miscommunication. The owner contacted the property manager and someone was there to clean and detail the place within the hour and we were refunded the cleaning fee. We would DEFINITELY return to the Big Island, Kona and this condo in particular since our stay was so wonderful."
