"The ease in the rental process of Alii Cove was great.Simple all around no surprises, as with some of the bed/breakfast stays.Great neighbours ,well maintained in all aspects.Wayne was prompt with minor issues in his response! I would recommend Alii Cove and Wayne to many!"

"The property does indeed have a sense of calm and inspires relaxation and introspection. A perfect place to prepare for Ironman whether you are an athlete or a spectator. We happen to have both in our party; competitor and spectators. Happy to share that our athlete made the podium, coming in 4th in his age division, 50-54 years old. There were plenty of linens, pillows, blankets, towels, beach chairs, beach towels, and water/pool toys. So refreshing. The refrigerator was über clean, something VERY appreciated, and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils, plates, seasonings, oil/vinegar, etc. The suggestion in the binder to look around in the cupboards before grocery shopping was spot on, thank you! In fact, the Binder itself was truly appreciated; so much helpful info in there! We couldn't have enjoyed more reading through the approximately 15 years of guest book entries. My son and I particularly had a good time with this and read through them more than once. The photo albums are also a very personal and appreciated touch. It's fun to imagine all the people that have passed over the Kona Hideaway thresholds. Close enough to downtown Kailua Kona, but far enough up the hill to get out of the hustle and bustle. We would highly recommend staying here."

"This was a great property for our group of 16 family members. 8 kids from 6mo to 16 years and 8 adults. Easy access to great kid snorkeling nearby and centrally located to everything else. It was very hot in August and we enjoyed the pool a lot. The house was set up great for all of us. The ceiling fans were a great comfort in the heat.
We did run out of toilet paper (8 kids in and out) but bottom line if I was to do it all over I would do it all over just the same."

"Everything was great, minus the weather being hot and the house not having A/C in the living room area, the downstairs bedroom by the laundry room and master bedroom. The bedrooms that did have A/C felt fine, but the ones that did not were uncomfortable to be in.
The only minor problem we ran into was the pool being a little dirty, but the manager got on it quickly which I appreciated!
The house came with a lot of water activity gear in the garage (boogie boards, kayak, water shoes, life vests, umbrellas) which was very useful.
Great location and house, walking distance to downtown Kona. I would recommend this house depending on weather."
