  • A very pleasant vacation base

"This condo doesn't have it all but is has a lot. Nice location south of Kona away from the crowds but within easy striking distance. Well stocked with guide books, snorkel gear, binocs and other sundries so you don't have to pack or buy a lot of extras. Friendly owner who contacted me personally and provided a bunch of tips and ideas for things to do. Nice view of sunsets. My wife, 3 college-aged daughters and I had a blast for a week. A very positive experience that my family will remember forever. You will need a car."

"Even though we only had 2 days to spend in this awesome condo and little town we had a blast and the condo had everything you could need."

  • Review of Hale O'Lihi Kai

"Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Addendum: Only half the toaster works. Many light bulbs are burned out. Broken screens. Sliding screen doors don’t slide. This is a very special location and a home with an amazing floor plan. It just needs some attention!! This is such a high-end home, I want to report on the issues we have run into — we always eat in, so the kitchen has become the main focus of our stay here: Only half of the oven seems to actually cook (elements may need to be replaced). The broiler will not come on at all. The BBQ is in pretty awful shape — doesn’t hardly work at all. The stove cooktop has a lot of problems. A person really has to baby the burners to get them to come on and stay on without the igniter constantly clicking. The right front burner won’t come on at all without being manually lit. The refrigerator won’t stay cold, unless we hit the “Maximum Cold” button all the time. The children have been very disappointed that the pool is too cold to swim in. Is there a heater that needs to be turned on or fixed? And we never could get any pool lights to come on, which would be useful at night to negotiate the walkway. The electrical plugs in the master bathroom don’t work. The coffee bean grinder is broken, so doesn’t work. Otherwise, it's heaven on earth!!"

  • Excellent spot

"We more than enjoyed our five nights at this Kona Reef condo. Great location -- not only walking distance to beaches, restaurants and shops, but also very centrally located for those with a car looking to drive around the island. Fantastic patio, comfortable bed, very spacious."
