  • Luxurious & Relaxing!

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I spent a week at the Hale O'Nani property, and were astounded by the house itself, as well as the gated community with 24/7 guard. We felt safe at all times & had much more privacy than we thought we would have, which was an added bonus. The house was just wonderful, so many amenities & just overall luxurious! The location was key, we were a 5 minute drive to the beach, any beach we wanted really. (beach - not sandy beaches, but shallow waters great for snorkelling & surfing & just swimming or playing in the waves) a few of the beaches had lifeguards and parking was never a problem. Just don't leave anything valuable in your car when parking at the beach, we were warned, but we never had an issue with theft. The restaurants in the area were very Americanized, however a LOT of fun! Tones to do all around the vacation rental in every which direction. We were able to see whales from our balcony & beyond amazing sunsets with no view obstructions. Star gazing was also great! Overall, there was so much to do and just not enough time to do it all. We loved coming back home to our relaxing house with full privacy! Amazing spot, we highly recommend to any couple or family looking for a fun filled vacation, without the cramped environment of a big hotel. Thank you for the making our vacation so wonderful! We will definitely be back!"

  • Had such a wonderful time!

"We took our 3 adult children and our only granddaughter for a week in this wonderful condo. The location is south of Kona in a quiet condo project. It was easy to get to Kona for dinner or shopping. There is a convenient shopping area with groceries, drug store and restaurants right up the hill from the condo so it wasn't necessary to go into the crowded tourist area very often. The unit itself is just fantastic. You go up 12 or 13 stairs after you come through the entry door. A comfortable kitchen, dining room and living room, and a lovely balcony overlooking the golf course (closed for renovations) gave us plenty of room to spread out and do our own thing if we wanted to. Ceiling fans keep these areas somewhat cool. The air conditioner, for which there is an extra charge, wasn't as cool as we would have liked it and the thermostat is sealed in a plastic box so we couldn't change it. The master bedroom has a nice vanity area and walk-in closet. The 2nd bedroom is still good sized and has the hall bath right next to it. The loft bedroom has its own bath and is spacious and comfortable. There is plenty of privacy up there but the overlook window lets light and sound in from the downstairs so put your early risers up in the loft. All the bedrooms had ceiling fans and we were adequately cool by the time we went to bed. The outside grounds are immaculate and the 3 swimming pools (one is for adults only) are all fantastic. The ocean side pool is especially beautiful but the most crowded. There is a gas grill located at each pool. Ray has included a high chair, stroller, baby gate, and car seat which made this condo really great for us with our granddaughter along. We used the Honda Odessy van during our stay. It is big and roomy and such a great bargain. I highly recommend this condo and would definitely go back again!"

  • Great condo in a great complex!

"Four of us – parents and two teen boys - went to the Big Island; we stayed in Kona for 7 days at the Kona Reef complex. What a great time we all had! The Kona Reef condos are a nice complex just a 2-block walk from the main part of Kona town. There are lots of restaurants, shops, sights-to-see, and a “farmers market” just a 10-15 minute walk from the complex. Kona Reef is next door to a small park and sandy beach (great for a half-hour’s fun) and about an 8-12 minute drive from Magic Sands (great body-surfing) or a 10-15 minute drive from Kahaluu (turtles!) beaches. The complex has a decent pool, free parking, and a great barbeque area in the pool/hottub area to cook dinner, make friends, and watch the sunset! It was never noisy or busy but there was always someone to talk to – or for the kids to hangout with – if we wanted. We rented this 1 bedroom condo...I’ll "guesstimate" it was about 700 sq.ft. + lanai; we were maybe 60 feet from the ocean and the view was GREAT - the kids fell asleep every night on the pullout sleeper sofa to the sound of the surf. We enjoyed occasional breakfasts and lunches on the lanai and we saw whales breeching 2 or 3 times from the condo! There’s all the major appliances (dishwasher, fridge, oven/stove, and washer/dryer), a three piece bathroom with tub, fans, and air-conditioner…the kitchen was stocked with almost all the small appliances we needed, including blender! Nothing was extravagant but everything was there, and for the price it was great! We rented through this VRBO page from KonaDave – he owns the condo and a nearby coffee farm and some other places. If we had a question about the condo, he was always available via phone/text. The day after we arrived, he came by with boogie boards and snorkel gear for the kids – we really appreciated him bringing these for us; they were great to have together with the cooler, beach chairs, and kickboards already in the closet! And what a cool character – KonaDave can tell you anything you want to know! Like to know a good non-touristy restaurant the locals go to? Want a tour boat to take you out snorkeling? Thinking about driving to the green sands beach? Ask KonaDave – he knows the right place to visit or the best company to call or just the right guy to ask! We'll be back! You should go!!"
