  • THE PERFECT PLACE TO VACATION ON THE BIG ISLAND!!!

"A spectacular home that is just as beautiful on the inside as the view from the lanai! A very short walk to a secluded, smooth black sand beach. A black pebble beach literally feet from the front door giving access to a lot of fun in the water. Fantastic snorkeling and scuba right from the black pebble beach! Rent gear at Jack's and go for it!!!! Many whale and dolphin sightings right from the lanai as we sipped refreshments! Head north to exciting night life. Head south to the green sand beach. Take a picnic lunch and a 4X4 Jeep. A fun drive out to the beach! Continue on to Volcano National park. Further east is the rainforest! The location of this house allows you to enjoy spectacular sunsets every night. Diana is a wonderful host and has provided lots of information to help you plan your exploration of the island as well as kayaks and snorkeling gear etc. for your enjoyment. The only way to describe our stay is "INCREDIBLE". Thank you Diana!"

  • Heaven on Earth

"My husband and I stayed 11 nights in the Jungle Cottage early February 2014. All that really needs to be said is: it is a little piece of paradise! We stayed in a couple of other hotel/B&B as well during our stay on the Big Island, and none of them, nor other places we looked into staying at, remotely compared to the accommodation at Bwana Bob. The cottages there are surrounded by lush vegetation and have a beautiful ocean view; it is extremely peaceful and one feels far away from civilization and lost in the jungle yet Kona is just a few miles away. "Our" Jungle Cottage was so cozy and so romantic, very clean - there could not have been a more perfect place to spend our honeymoon! Upon check-in, I was amazed to find absolutely everything we needed: a kitchen stocked with all the essentials, soaps and shampoos, bath and beach towels, beach mats, folding chairs, snorkeling gear, ice cooler, and yes, even an umbrella! Not to mention a pound of the delicious Bwana Bob coffee, and fresh fruit including the sweetest pineapple! In the cottage there is also a TV, DVDs, videos, magazines, guides, maps - and the list goes on. The highlight of my stay at the Jungle Cottage was being able to pick fruit from the fruit trees in the garden: nothing like starting your day with juice from freshly picked oranges or juicy mangoes and fleshy bananas! Our hosts were absolutely wonderful! They are so friendly and bent over backwards to make our stay as fantastic as possible. We witnessed the coffee roasting process. Well, you haven't lived until you have seen Steve's Roast O Rama and the place where he does it! Fascinating! I could have spent hours in his workshop studying all the machines and robots and gadgets and tackle and apparatuses and equipment! Something to tell your grandchildren about, lol! That coffee roasting process if a must-see, so is Bwana Bob's accommodation! I highly recommend it to anyone spending any time at all on the Big Island! And should I go back to Hawaii, this is definitely where I will want to stay! Thank you Susan and Steve, for sharing your paradise with us!"

  • Great Location and Value

"The condo is so conveniently located for what we planned to do: snorkeling, Manta ray night snorkel, hike to Green Sand beach, South Point. Grocery store and shopping are nearby. Our favorite food place - Da Poke Shack is only 1 mile away. Having a covered lanai really helped in allowing us to spend more time outside in the afternoon while the sun is blazing. Kitchen is well stocked and ready for yummy home-made meals of the fresh local fish we bought. Snorkel gears, boogie boards, and beach towels are great to have! The pool is also very nice and relaxing, not crowded at all. Having A/C in the condo was a great plus to just get rid of the bit of humidity at the end of a long day out. Condo had everything we needed and everything was functional, but it could use some updating, especially the bathroom shower. The bed is not the most comfortable and the sheets and towels seemed to have a damp smell (not sure if from washer/dryer or because they've been sitting in a locked room for a while.) But you can't beat the great price on this condo! We would definitely consider staying here again if we can be so lucky to visit in the future."

  • Outstanding Paradise Home - Well Worth Your Rate

"This was our first time using VRBO and first time visit to Kona. Danielle's home did not disappoint in any way. What a beautiful and well cared for home and "wow" was all I could say as we experienced our first Kona sunset from the very private lanai. I absolutely recommend this place and we will be back. We had the opportunity to see similar homes in the Sea Village and nothing compares to your home! Thank you Danielle for making our stay so memorable and wonderful. You are a super easy person to reach. You responded quickly to all of our questions and helped us with sightseeing recommendations. Your attention to just every minor detail has won us over for good! We have already given your listing to friends that will be traveling to Kona later this year and they plan to stay in your home."
