Cozy studio, ocean views, convenient location
"The studio was even better than the pictures. Very comfortable bed, great bathroom linens, stocked well with laundry soap, shampoo, lotions, etc. We bought fresh fish and cooked in the well appointed kitchen, or grilled and sat out on the patio. The owner is very helpful and quick to respond to emails and questions. A few beaches within walking distance and a big supermarket a short drive away."

"Everything was perfect! The pictures do not do it justice. Prime location, close to eveything but still quiet. This beautiful home is so spacious, plenty of room for all of the family with private rooms, baths, huge closets, the most comfortable beds, tastefully decorated with ocean breezes to put us to sleep at night. Fabulous view throughout the home. Pool was perfect temperature, clean, well kept, surrounded by gorgeous landscaping and extremely private. There were fans and air conditioning, but we never turned them on because the breeze kept the place cool. I can't say enough about this home. Zach was so easy to work with, very geniuine and great customer service. I would highly recommend this house and would definitely rent it again the next time we visit."

"Here's why I will remember our stay at Nikki's house with such fondness.
-big, spacious comfortable rooms. 4 adults could work in the kitchen together. We all could do floor exercises in the livingroom together. The bedrooms were large enough to retreat to for quiet time and the beds were great.
-the wonderful deck, with it's view over papaya, avocado, hibiscus, macadamia, etc. and a big BBQ to grill our dinners.
-the veggie garden and chickens
-the friendly cats who greeted us each day but respectfully declined indoor visits.
-the outdoor shower*******
-in the background, Nikki's cheerful, unassuming, helpful and friendly presence
This is not a 4 star hotel. It's a clean, funky, well-used and loved home with a great vibe. It is not convenient to malls, restaurants, resorts(those are an hour away). There are noisy frogs croaking all night long. But those are everywhere.
The location gives easy access to south Kona and south island points of interest, but with it's easy to go up the Kona coast and do a Costco run too.
Would I go back? In a heartbeat!!!!!!!!"

"You can not ask for a better ocean-front house than this one on the shores of Kealakekua Bay, a few miles south of the town of Kona. You are close enough to enjoy Kona but when you turn off the main highway and drive down Napoo’poo road to the bay, you are surrounded by small farms with coffee and macadamia nut trees, and you know you are now in ‘old’ Hawai’i. But there is nothing ‘old’ about this house. The owner John is a pleasure to deal with and since he spends several weeks each year in the house, he insures, along with Krista, the local care taker, that the place is in great shape and feels like home. Krista, who has lived nearby for over 20 years, is a wealth of info and could not be more hospitable.
The house is very comfortable and extremely well stocked. The kitchen is beautiful, with new appliances, granite countertops and koa wood cabinets, and a new top-of-the-line washer and dryer in the laundry room. The ‘great’ room is truly great and three bedrooms, all with prime ocean-front views, means there is plenty of space for everyone. The grounds are gorgeous with lots of outdoor seating and a large grill and dining table. There is no better location on the Big Island than this little dead-end road and this house on K Bay - providing that you want to be ocean front and Not surrounded by hundreds of people.
There is nothing more peaceful than sitting here in the back yard during whale season and watching humpback whales and spinner dolphins in the ocean in front of you.
I’m convinced that the best snorkeling and shore diving spot in Hawai’i is a quick 5 minute drive to ‘Two Step’ at the Place of Refuge, one of the most historic places on the island. Other ‘must do’ things while here are : kayak in K bay and snorkel at the Cook monument; visit the Historic Kona coffee farm at the top of the hill; visit the Big Island Bee & Honey farm that is 2 miles from the house; stop in and see the beautiful Painted Church that is nearby; have lunch at the Coffee Shack at the top of the hill for fine food with fabulous views of the Bay and the surrounding coffee farms; buy local produce and fresh Big Island tuna or marlin or mahi-mahi from the local grocery store and grill them at the house; do a night dive or snorkel with the Manta rays; visit Volcanoes national park. You will surely run out of time before you run out of things to do here. We can’t wait until we are back at the beautiful house in this beautiful place !"
