Welcoming arbor+ real Hawaiian experience+ real relaxation= immersion in a true Hawaiian vacation
"I've been to Hawaii before. Staying in the insulated boxes of the Sheraton/big box hotels and having a very tourist type experience that was bland and fake feeling.
But staying at a home, with all the things I needed, right in the middle of the local scene was a real Hawaiian vacation. I felt more connected with my vacation and relaxed far more than in any hotel. This home is close enough to run into town and do shopping and be a tourist or better yet.... follow the locals every morning as they walk past your porch to swim with dolphins at the Captain Cook Cove (Kealalekua Bay) and local park.
I loved being among the locals; feeling connected to the land and sea and felt less like a tourist in this home and more at home and at ease. It was wonderful..it is the only way I will vacation from now on and it was very hard to leave!!
The home has all you need, just grab food. It has plenty of room for all and the view was wonderful and special. My 16 yr old spent his time on the top floor observation deck and that is the best place to take a nap!! The sunsets up top were amazing, BBQ in the sweet shady backyard and then have dinner with the sun and sea at your fingertips from the top deck.
Stroll across the street and snorkel your heart out, walk home and enjoy the huge double shower to get the sand off and at your fingertips are the washer and dryer and sink to keep your suits clean and sand free. I found this to be so much nicer than having to worry about washing things off in a hotel room.
This is a very special home to vacation in and the location was wonderful.
Ill be going back as soon as I can."

"My family and I, seven of us, recently spent 10 days in this glorious home. This was the vacation of a lifetime. It started with Robin’s attention to detail and answering all of our questions and making accommodations when possible to make the journey to and from the Big Island as painless as possible. The ultimate in customer service continued through our entire stay with outstanding service from the concierge office that is dedicated to serving all of us that are on the resort property in private rentals.
The rental itself accommodated all of us with plenty of space at the dining table and the lanai. This was really a plus. We loved to cook and found the kitchen to be nicely equipped. The pictures on the website accurately portrayed the tastefulness of the furnishing.
Having the 2 golf carts included with the rental was an outstanding benefit allowing quick access to the beach and the ability of the family to maintain different schedules. That’s what vacations should be.
Until we spent the first day we did not realize how functional and enjoyable having the outdoor shower would be. A great way to rinse off the remnants of a day at the beach before entering the house.
When making the reservation I had not considered the convenience of being so close to Kailua. It started with the proximity to the airport, grocery shopping, and the number of recreational opportunities that we took part of in town. This was a real plus for all of us.
We all loved Robin’s home and know that you will too."

"Aloha. We just got back from our stay in the most perfect setting on the Big Island. If you want the resort life style, this is not your place. But if you want to experience your own piece of Hawaii heaven, this is just your place. This little bungalow is sitting in a tropical jungle that affords you privacy and beauty. Each morning I sat on the lanai in a comfy chaise, drank my tea and enjoyed the marvelous view.
At first I was concerned about the no air conditioning thing, but afternoon, evening and early mornings are very cool. The days may have been hot/warm but we were out exploring so it didn't bother us at all.
I really miss it and hope that I can return.
ps: the geckos love whipped cream and jelly"

"We have stayed in many VRBO condos, and I have to say that this VIEW, hands down, was the BEST EVER! It was just the two of us and made for the perfect sunset dinners right out the window. Great pool to enjoy, and the ocean right out your front window! We are very particular about even the littlest of things. We had the bright white fluffy towels to the clean fresh lines on the bed. The nicely done kitchen set up, with dishes, glasses, utensils that all went together and has everything you will need to enjoy your picture perfect sunset dinners from your unit. The extra large bathroom all so tastefully decorated along with the rest the of the condo. Yes, it is an older complex, but when you can see that the owner has pride in their unit, it doesn't matter. The grounds, even though small, were immaculate. If we are ever on the Big Island again, I would certainly be looking at Kona Magic Sands #309 again! I would urge those that are looking at rentals, to be very careful when they are going through the filters on any rental. Sometimes, we assume that certain amenities are available when they aren't. Thank you Teresa for sharing your little slice of paradise!"
