  • What a Fantastic Place!

"We rented both the main house and the guest house as we had our family of 11 with us. We had 14 days of pure heaven, made so by the immaculately maintained houses, the phenomenal ocean views, the privacy, and the beautiful grounds. It was much more than we ever imagined and it was worth every penny. Dan made us feel very welcome and was very helpful. Thanks, Dan, for the exceptional stay in your gorgeous paradise. We will always remember this fantastic trip!"

  • Slice of Paradise

"Beautiful home in great location! Loved the fact that the house has beach towels, ice chest, chairs and other things to bring to the beach. We were there for our daughter's wedding, so not a lot of extra room in our luggage. Loved the view at sunset from the lanai!"

  • Terrifically tranquil getaway.

"We were so very pleasantly surprised with the spacious and abundantly equipped corner unit at Kona Reef. The complex was quiet and the other guests that we met at the common area BBQ and poolside were outgoingly friendly, even offering us some fresh ahi ahi from their day of deep sea fishing. The unit itself was perfect for my husband and me, grandma and our two small children. The tile flooring, fresh linens, newly renovated washrooms and fully equipped kitchen made our vacation very comfortable. But the real gem was the spacious lanai overlooking the rolling waves with morning surfers and calm waters of evening sunsets that made this particular unit one that we plan on returning to in the future."

  • We will be back!!!

"Thank you Max & Linda for letting us borrow your beautiful home for a week!! It is soooooooo peaceful there and loved every minute there. It had everything we needed for an "Awsome" vacation! Didn't get to use the kayaks, maybe next time. Your lot is in a perfect location (we're jealous :-) that provides that great view from the up stairs deck, and a nice private pool area in the back! That upstairs deck was the perfect place for our breakfasts, dinners and just kickin back time. We had beautiful sunsets every day that we were there! We even got to see that Blood Moon Eclipse one evening, that was really cool! (I am kinda an astronomy nut too :-) Sky viewing there was great, haven't been in an area that dark for years!!) Your directions to the house were perfect and thank you also for the maps with all the highlighted places on it ,I think we went to all of them! :-) Milolii was just what we were hoping for. It's away from the hustle n bustle of city life and very relaxing. We live about 10 miles from the Las Vegas strip so we loved it here. The new Saddle Road is awsome it saved us so much time on a road trip one day we did in about 8 hours! (Naalehu,Punaluu,South Point,Volcano,Hilo,Kamuela,Kohala and ended up at Hapuna Beach-Awsome day!! Only skipped the Hamakua Coast area) We did go back to Volcano on another day tho, very cool there. Your home I think is in pretty nice starting place to explore the Big Island well for us it was. Made it to Hilo in a couple of hours to visit friends and family ,and thats just cruzin all the way. We made it to Honomolino Beach also and it took us about 30 minutes from the start of the trail (we're 60 so it took us longer LOL) it's Awsome there and we had it all to ourselves for about 3 hours!!! I told Debbie I was ready to run around naked!1 LOL!! Beautiful beach and water there! The people we talked to in the Milolii Village are very nice too! You just have to start talking to them. Well thanks again Linda & Max our vacation was great!! We're coming up again in June but saw your place was rented out already :-( Kinda was a last minute decision anyway. Take Care -n- Aloooooooooha!"

Kona Coast Travel Tips

Kona Coast Resorts Offer the Best Weather

Even if you have never been to the Kona Coast on Hawaii’s Big Island, you have probably heard of it. Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, as it is called by Native Hawaiians, is most well known for the Kona coffee produced there. To reach Kona Coast resorts, you will need a flight into Honolulu and a rental car. Kona Coast condos are on the leeward side of Mauna Loa, which provides perfect weather throughout the year for snorkeling, diving, and sunbathing. Each morning, you may decide to wake up to enjoy a Kona coffee at your Big Island vacation rentals while watching for dolphins or sea turtles from the balcony.

Kona Coast Condos near the Atlantis Submarine Tour

Chances are very good that your Kona Coast condos will be on the beach, making it easier for you to snorkel or scuba dive. However, you may want to sign up for a boat dive or tour of the coast to explore more of the tropical elements Hawaii can offer you. Deep sea fishing tours are also offered near Big Island vacation rentals. If you are feeling truly adventurous for watery fun, book an Atlantis Submarine. The dock the submarines leave from is a short walk from Kona Coast resorts. An hour-long tour on the underwater submarine gives you an educational experience that covers the coral reefs, tropical fish, and other marine animals.

Big Island Vacation Rentals Tell Tales of Captain Cook

Twelve miles south of Kona Coast condos, you'll find Kealakekua Bay which is the site of Captain Cook’s death. Captain James Cook died in 1779, a year after he found the Hawaiian Islands. Cook was the first British explorer to reach the area, but a skirmish with Native Hawaiians caused his death. When you leave Big Island vacation rentals for a day of fun, you can explore the bay which is a Marine Life Conservation area. Often Spinner dolphins, tropical fish, and coral can be seen when diving or kayaking in the bay.

Kona Coast Resorts near the Lawbreakers Refuge

For a day trip away from Kona Coast resorts, consider Puuhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park. South of Kona you will find 180 acres of national park that was once a refuge for ancient Hawaiian lawbreakers. The only chance of survival for many was to make it to the park and form their own society. Today, you can visit the Great Wall, wooden images of gods, and black lava rock shoreline.
