  • Hualalai week

"Great place to go and relax. We rented a car at the airport then decided that the house and resort were so nice that there was no point going anywhere else. The villa is spectacular, beautifully furnished and comfortable. There is a nice outdoor patio for breakfast and evening BBQ. The resort is beautiful, great pools, spa, gym and restaurants. Although the resort is beautiful the villa seemed far more private and quite. The villa comes with two golf carts that make for a nice romantic evening ride to the beach for a sunset dinner. It is walking distance but the cart ride was cool. Can't wait to go back."

  • Family Gathering

"We spent a fabulous week at this lovely house in February, 2014. It was a perfect location and accommodations for 4 generations. There were ten of us, ages 4 to 84. Many things about the visit are memorable, but especially we found that the house offers a big group lots of spaces to be together, and also places to be alone. Large bedrooms and bathrooms distributed conveniently and each with some privacy. There were places to make puzzles together, play cards, eat shared meals, watch the Winter Olympics on big screens (several), and then outdoors to go swimming (luxurious pool!), and explore the surroundings amongst the avocado trees. The kitchen is spacious and modern so several people can work together on different things and come up with a wonderful spread. An issue arose with the water supply, but vastly more important, we found that all it took was a quick phone call, and the owner leapt into action, and things were fixed. She has a well-established support crew that knows what to do when stuff happens. This vacation house is conveniently located near some of the best ocean beaches on the Big Island, in the Captain Cook/City of Refuge area, and the owner’s detailed descriptions in the written information are very helpful. The house has enough altitude above the ocean that the view of the sky and sea is spectacular, and yet the temperatures/humidity are moderate 24/7. When you visit this place, be sure to take the time to walk down to the main road and back at least once. Round trip it is about an hour’s walk, and if you take time to smell the flowers, and to take pictures of the plants, flowers, fruits, berries and animals along the way, you won’t soon forget it."

  • Friendly Host and Great Location for Area Snorkeling

"Todd's friendly and easy-going nature is contagious! A tour of his coffee farm and conversation with this Pennsylvanian-native-turned-Hawaiian is a must! As guests in his rental apartment you will enjoy samples of the coffee, nuts, and fruits harvested from his farm. And, any visitor to this area must go snorkeling at Two-Step and visit Pu'uhonua o Honaunau, the Place of Refuge. The apartment offers basic, not luxurious furnishings and decorations, but guests will find everything is clean and the kitchen has all you need to prepare meals. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the lanai during our stay. We also helped ourselves to the beach chairs for our outing to Two-Step and I supplemented my mask and snorkel with fins Todd has available for guests to borrow. The property is a working farm which means you will see a variety of tools, sheds, and projects associated with the farm from your view on the lanai. If you are looking for perfect manicured gardens, this working farm may not be the place for you. This farm and our conversation with Todd gave us the opportunity to learn how one family transitioned to the Big Island from the mainland. This apartment is also within driving distance to a fabulous local restaurant called The Strawberry Patch. We enjoyed celebrating my mother's 70th birthday and mother's day with an excellent dinner at this local eatery which Todd recommended. Thank you for helping to make our trip to the Big Island memorable."

  • Fantastic View's and Amenities.

"Great central location. Loved the huge views, huge deck on the third (top) floor. Nice snorkeling beach, with turtles. Swimming pool was open 8 to 9 p.m. each day. Guests where constantly rotating all day without over-crowding the large pool. Quiet almost soundless between condos. Saw kayakers, swimmers, canoers, boats, dolphins and cruise ships all the time from the deck. Only thing we where surprised about was: No air conditioning though unit (ceiling fans, yes). It was in the 80's most of the three weeks we where there and very humid (hot and sticky). The unit could have used a few more fans for the deck, both bedrooms and two or three in the living area. Walking up three floors was not a problem at all (good exercise & privacy). Close to Kona downtown (10 minutes). 25 minutes to 2 step beach (you can swim with the dolphins for free). Save yourself $100.00. 15 minutes to harbor to swim with mantas. KTA market (5 minute walk) had live music every Saturday in parking lot and farmers market for fresh foods. Definitely recommend staying here. Clean, easy to contact someone for assistance. My family and friends will love staying here. Humpey's bar and Grill had excellent Prime Rib on Wednesday happy hour menu. Excellent fish tacos. Great pizza. Kona Brewing Company has an interesting tour with 4 drink sampler at end for $5. Food is excellent here too. Breads are made with beer leftovers. Everything is recycled. Enjoy your stay here it will be unforgettable."
