  • Great Family Vacation

"My husband and I traveled to Hawaii with his daughter and friend and my son and his family including his wife and children (10 months and almost 4). This house was great for this combination of ages and interests. My son and his family loved the pool. It kept my very active grandson (wearing a float) busy most mornings and afternoons. By the end of his week+ stay, he was jumping in and swimming with no float as long as there was an adult in the pool with him. His younger brother enjoyed toe dipping in the warm afternoon shadows. My grandson also played in the backyard regularly with one of the available adults. He loved the floats available for pool and beach. We all took advantage of the pool/beach equipment as we spent almost every day at one of the several beaches available around Kona. My husband's daughter and her friend (45+'s) spent about half their time on the beaches with us and the rest of the time traveling around the island. They had no trouble taking day trips to various recommended locations since Kona is centrally located on the western coast of the island. My husband and daughter love photography and documented our adventure. The sunsets from our deck or the nearby beach were favorite subjects of photos. I loved getting up before everyone else (barely for the babies) to experience the birds welcoming the breaking day while sitting on the deck watching for whales. What fun to look up from whatever on the deck or living room to see a whale The house was lovely and very functional. We cooked almost all of our meals at home. The washing and drying machines were essential. Randy was great! We had a wonderful time and are grateful for this "perfect" place for our family vacation!"

  • If we could, would rent again this beautiful house

"Rented this home for a family reunion vacation that included 12 family members plus a 3 month old. The layout was perfect giving the parents & baby a master bedroom on one side of the house while the other members used the guest house bedroom, the other master bedroom & another bedroom which slept 4. Because of the layout, the baby only woke the parents during the night. We could have added at least 2 more guests before someone would have had to sleep on air mattresses which the owner would/could provide. We had plenty of space to move around the common areas (kitchen/livingroom/entertainment area/lanai) which was our main reason for renting this house. Heard no complaints from anyone regarding the availability of hot water for showers with this big group. Loved the scenic views from the lanai at dinner time and also in the morning. Loved the breeze that came through the doors leading out to the Lanai. Plenty of bath towels and etc, & plenty of beach towels for everyone to use during our stay. The high quality kitchen supplies (smaller appliances/plates/dishes/silverware and etc) were plentiful so that we would have only had to run the dishwasher twice a day but the dishwasher had to be used in shifts to handled the amount of dishes used by the group. We had a little issue with the food disposal (our fault) & the safe (not our fault). Both times the property manager responded quickly & fixed the issue. He was very cordial & helpful giving tips of good places to eat, little known scenic by-passes & excursions. The helpful "tip packet" given by the home owner was also very valuable. Homeowner was prompt & easy to deal with. Location was excellent. We felt the location was great for getting to all the areas on the Kona side of the island and it also allowed us to drive a doable 1 1/2 hours to the Volcano National Park on the Hilo side. The parking area by the garages was roomy enough to hold 3 rental vehicles (2 midsize and an extended van) plus a motorcycle. I most warn people, the first time going up and down the driveway was a little scary. It's a great place for walking for exercise!! If I have to say something negative - the dogs next door barked a little - never during the night & never for extended periods of time. Just interrupted the peace & quiet now & then. We learned after the 2nd occurrence that after showing in the guest house, make sure to keep the bathroom door closed or the steam will set of the smoke detector."

  • Really great condo and location

"I booked the condo last fall thru Steve, and he couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. Everything was great and his detailed instructions and directions made it very seamless. My sister and 2 teenage girls stayed for 6 nights. The condo is very spacious and comfortable for short or long stays. A few things little could be updated, but it was super clean and affordable. Everyone on the property was very nice. We enjoyed sitting on the lanai just watching and listening to the waves crash against the rocks. The trolly to and from Kona was great for the teenagers. We also walked to the beaches to hang out, snorkeling and kayaking. I liked being close to shops and outdoor activities, but far enough from crowds downtown. I would definitely recommend this condo for families or couples."

  • Fabulous home away from home

"My husband and I rented this house for ourselves and 8 family members for our destination wedding on the Big Island in May 2013. Everything was perfect from our arrival until departure and we really enjoyed being able to walk along the ocean and into town for iced Cold Brew coffees! We hired a private chef to come a couple of nights and the serving ware that's in the house made this meal feel like a gourmet restaurant, but with the intimate and private home setting it was much more special and a fraction of the cost of eating out!"
